NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST

CAT 2017 Non- IIM Participating Institutions, Top Institutions and their Selection Procedure

CAT 2017 scores will be accepted by 20 IIMs (Indian Institute of Management) and more than 111 Non- IIMs across India. The Department of Management Studies of IITs, NITs, IIITs, DTU and IISc, Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, and Delhi University (DU) are among top CAT 2017 Participating institutes other than IIMs.

  • CAT 2017 has been scheduled on  November 26, 2017 (Sunday).
  • CAT Result will be declared in January 2018
  • List of shortlisted candidates will be announced by the participating institutes on the basis of CAT Cutoff for appearing in the final selection procedure.
  • CAT Selection will include CAT Result, GD/PI and Written Ability Test.

Selection Process for Non- IIM Institutes

Selection process for various non- IIM institutes is given below:

  1. Selection Criteria of K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai

If the applicant wants to take the admission in the institute for PGDM program in various specialized fields then they will have to face the four phases of selection criteria which will be conducted by the institute.

In Phase I – The applicants will be shortlisted by the Institute on the basis of their CAT Scores, Work Experience, Academic Record and Previous Achievements.

Phase II – In phase II the shortlisted applicants will have to attempt the Written Case Analysis, Extempore Presentation and Personal Interview round. They will get the 15 Minutes for Written Case Analysis, 10 to 20 Minutes for Personal Interview Round and Extempore Presentation will be also held in between the Personal Interview Round in which 30 seconds will be given to the applicant to think about the topic and 1 Minute to speak about that particular topic which will be given.

Phase III – Under this phase, the result of Phase II for each of the applicants will be declared. It will be declared through Two Lists; the first list will carry the result of all PGDM Programs except PGDM in the field of Executive and the second list will only carry the result of PGDM (Executive).

Phase IV – After the declaration of result the applicants will be called for counselling process by the Institute on the basis of their secured rank. The counselling process will be held at the different time of slots and applicants will get their choice of program for which they have applied according to their rank.

  1. Selection Criteria of S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai

Those applicants who are looking to take the admission in S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research for PGDM program on the basis of their secured CAT Scores they will have to face the below mentioned Selection Criteria which will be conducted by the institute in Two Stages.
For the procedure, the applicants will be categorized into two groups for two rounds of interviews.

Stage 1 – Selection Process of applicants on the basis of considered factors – The applicants will be selected for Interview on the basis of their secured CAT Scores, Academic Record, Work Experience and Previous Achievements. Overall qualifying score is required 85% and sectional qualifying score is 70% required in CAT and weightage for work experience, previous achievements and academic record will be declared after the completion of stage 2 selection process.

Stage 2 – Selected applicants called for an Interview – Once the applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of the above-mentioned factors, then under stage 2 they will be called for an interview.
The shortlisted applicants will have to prepare for Psychometric test and written communication test which will be conducted by the institute at the time of interview process.

The final merit list will be based on composite scores which consider the work experience, previous achievements, academic record, CAT scores and applicant performance in the two rounds of group interviews.

  1. Selection Criteria of Birla Institute of Management and Technology, Noida

The applicants who are interested to take the admission in Birla Institute of Management and Technology for PGDM & PGDM (IB) program on the basis of their valid score of CAT will have to apply for the selection criteria which will be conducted by the institute.

The Selection Process has Two Stages and in the first stage the Group DiscussionEssay Writing and Personal Interview round will be conducted by the institute.

Stage 1: In first stage of selection criteria, the past academic recordwork experienceextra-curricular achievements will be considered for calling the applicants for Group DiscussionEssay Writing and Personal Interview round. Under Past Academic Record: Class 10th12thGraduation marks and CAT Score will be considered.

Under the selection criteria procedure, the applicants will be selected for face to face evaluation process on the basis of their entrance exam scores.

  • The shortlisted applicants will be called for face to face evaluation process for final selection process.
  • The final selection will be evaluated on the basis of the below-mentioned weightage criteria of CAT score, past academic record, work experience, face to face evaluation and composite diversity index.

  1. Selection Criteria of TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal

Candidates can take admission in TA Pai Management Institute for PGDM program in the field of Healthcare and Banking &Financial Service (BKFS) on the basis of their valid CAT score.

The selection criteria will be conducted in two phases 

First phase:  The applicants will be selected for personal interviews / WAT on the basis of their CAT score, Past Academic Record, Work Experience and Extra-Curricular Activities and
 
Second phase: The overall performance of the shortlisted applicants will be calculated.

Note: The weightage for WAT and PI will be declared by the institute at the time of the selection criteria.

  1. Selection Criteria of Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi

Candidates can take the admission in Master of Business Administration on the basis of their valid CAT score

Phase 1: PI + GD will be held after the completion of the shortlisting process of applicants on the basis of their secured CAT Score.

Note: The institute does not consider academic profile and work experience at the time of the selection criteria and the weightage for rest of the factors will be declared by the institute at the time of the selection criteria.

  1. Selection Criteria of National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai

If the applicants want to take the admission in National Institute of Industrial Engineering for post graduate program in Industrial Management (PGDIM) & Post-Graduate Program in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM) programs then they will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT Scores.

The shortlisted applicants will be called for Personal Interview and Group Discussion round and the final selection will be based upon below mentioned weightages criteria

  1. Selection Criteria of Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad

Those candidates who have cleared CAT and want to take admission in Institute of Management which is a constituent institute of Nirma University for full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program will have to apply for selection for admission.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview and written test.
  • The written test will be conducted in five selected cities i.e. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Pune.
  • Then after, the final selection of the candidates will be based upon their performance in the CAT, personal interview, written communication test, academic performance in class 10,  12 & graduation and work experience.

If candidates want to take the admission in National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management for PGDM program in the field of Agri-Business Management will have to secure a valid score in CAT and will have to apply for the selection criteria of the institute.
