IIM Udaipur CAT Cut Off 2018

IIM Udaipur Cut Off is the minimum percentile that candidates need to score for getting admission to the various MBA and PGDM programs in IIMs and other B-schools of the country. CAT Cut Off will be declared by the institute after the announcement of CAT Result.

  • IIM Udaipur will publish a separate cut off list for shortlisting candidates for the selection procedure.
  • Applicants have to clear both overall and sectional cut offs.
  • The overall cut off required by a general category student is 90 percentile for admission in IIM Udaipur.
  • Individuals who clear the cut off for CAT will have to appear for PI and WAT rounds.
  • Admission into the PGP program will be granted to students who clear both stages after considering their entire academic profile and other personal traits.

About CAT Cut Off

CAT Cut Off is the minimum percentile score required for admission to MBA and PGP programs. The cut off is never disclosed by the IIMs. However, the approximate CAT Cut Off for eligibility is released via the admission criteria. Applicants who clear the cut off will advance to the second stage of selection.

  • Every IIM will announce its separate cut off through their respective admission criteria.
  • The CAT Scores will be announced in accordance with category and sections. 
  • Generally, the IIMs and top business schools such as FMS, University of Delhi, MDI Gurgaon etc. have a CAT cut off over 99 percentile.
  • Newly established IIMs have a cut off ranging from 90 percentile or above.

CAT cut off will depend upon a variety of factors. Some of the factors determining CAT cut off are mentioned as follows:

  • Difficulty level of exam
  • Number of test takers
  • Number of applicants who qualify the exam
  • Seats available in each Institute
  • Reputation of Institute or ranking

IIM Udaipur Cut Off

IIM Udaipur is one of the 9 newly established business schools. The cut off for the institute is around 90percentile for the General category aspirants. It has not changed much over the past couple of years throughout the categories and sections.

  • CAT cut off for IIM Udaipur went up to an all-time high of 96percentile in 2014.
  • It was reduced to 90percentile in 2015 and has been more or less the same since then.

The institute will release its admission criteria. The parameters to be fulfilled for getting selected for the Personal Appearance (PA) process will also be mentioned. These criteria will vary as per category of students.

The percentile cut off for eligibility for PA process and the total scores obtained in CAT for different categories of applicants are given below:

Every individual deemed eligible as per the above table may or may not find a place in the shortlist.

  • The cut off percentile scores is just indicative and actual CAT cut off will be close to the cut off for the previous years.
  • A combined shortlist will be created in which the names of all selected aspirants of the 9 new IIMs will be enlisted for further processing.
  • Lists will be prepared separately for different categories and ranks will be assigned to aspirants in order of merit.

IIM Udaipur Selection Criteria

Candidates must first clear the CAT percentile cut off for IIM Udaipur. Those aspirants who advance to the PA stage must undergo the WAT and PI rounds. IIM Rohtak will hold these rounds for all the 9 new IIMs this year. The aim of these rounds is to assess the written ability skills as well as personality of the individual. On the basis of these 2 stages, a composite score will be calculated for all selected applicants.

The organizing institute will release a combined final merit list. Admission offers will be made on the basis of these composite scores. The criteria that will be judged and the weightage given to each in IIM Udaipur are:

  • CAT Score: 55%
  • Personal Appearance: 21% (Written Analysis- 6% and Personal Interview- 15%)
  • Profile: 24%

The admission committee will take a lot of components into consideration while making the final offers. For instance, the profile of candidates will be evaluated. Factors such as past academic records, work experience and diversity will also be given due weightage. Finally, meritorious students who secure a good composite score will prevail.
