IIM Indore Admission Criteria 2018

IIM Indore (IIM- I) has released the admission criteria for admission to Post-Graduate Program in Management (PGP) for 2018 batch. The admission criterion is based on scores secured by aspirants in CAT.

  • Students who qualify CAT Cut Off are shortlisted for calculation of composite scores
  • CAT Selection Criteria will be on the basis of candidates performance in CAT 2018, Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT).
  • Overall CAT scores required for IIM Indore Admission Criteria by a General category student is 90 percentile.

IIM Indore admission procedure for CAT 2018 applicants is mentioned below.

IIM Indore 2018: Eligibility Criteria for PGP

Candidates who qualify CAT cut off for IIM Indore will be admitted in the institute provided they meet eligibility criteria. IIM Indore Eligibility criteria for admission to PGP course is given below:

  • Graduation in any field and secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserved category candidates.
  • Conversion of CGPA and grades to an equivalent percentage of marks will be based on the procedure certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor’s degree has been obtained.
  • If the university/Institute does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks then it can be secured by multiplying the maximum CGPA with 100.
  • The partial fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria may result in cancellation of candidature as it is verified at a number of stages in IIM Indore admission process.

IIM Indore Admission Criteria 2018: Short-listing and Final Selection

IIM Indore Admission Criteria is structured on a 3 stage selection process- Eligibility Criteria, WAT & PI and Final Selection. Participants should fulfill the admission criteria at each stage in order to get admission into the institute. The criterion of selection at each stage is stated below.

Stage 1: Eligibility Criteria for WAT & PI

IIM Indore will shortlist eligible aspirants on the basis of their performance in CAT. Students must clear both the sectional and overall cut off. The table given below represents CAT Cut Off for admission in 2018-20 academic sessions in IIM Indore.

Stage 2: Computation of Composite Score for Short-listing for WAT & PI

Aspirants who clear CAT cut off for IIM Indore will be considered for calculation of the composite score. The composite score is utilized for selecting meritorious students for the PI stage held by the institute.

Separate merit lists will be generated for each category indicating the names of aspirants selected for the WAT & PI stage. The number of candidates moving forward to the next stage will depend on the number of seats available for the course.

The following method is adopted for calculating composite score:

The composite score is computed after taking various factors into account such as:

  • Individual’s past academic records (class 10 and 12 aggregate)
  • Gender Diversity Factor (GDF)
  • CAT 2017 Scores.

Weightage assigned to corresponding components for short-listing candidates for PI stage:

Note: Zcandidate, Zmin, Zmax for 10th Standard/ SSC Score and 12th Standard/ HSC Score are computed using the normalisation process.

IIM Indore: Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)

It is mandatory for the shortlisted candidates to attend both WAT & PI rounds.

  • Students will have to write an essay on a topic given by the institute in 30 minutes.
  • In Personal interview (PI), the panel will evaluate individual’s academic performance, work quality and other personal characteristics.
  • IIM Indore will assess the consistency in performance of students in different parameters of the PI.
  • IIM Indore conducts admission interviews in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai only.
  • The institute reserves the right to change the centres at any time if the situation so warrants.

IIM Indore Admission Criteria for Final Selection

Applicants who satisfy all the above requirements only will be considered for the final selection. Final composite score will be calculated after considering the performance of individuals in WAT & PI stage.

IIM Indore will release category wise merit lists based on these scores. Provisional admission offers will be made to successful students adhering to reservation norms.

IIM Indore Admission Criteria: Reservation policy

Reservation is applicable in IIM Indore as per norms stated by the Government of India. The following table represents the reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC and PwD categories meeting IIM Indore admission requirements:

3% seats are reserved for differently abled candidates as per the provisions of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995. This provision is applicable only if the individual suffers from the disability to an extent of not less than 40% as certified by a medical authority.

IIM Indore Admission Criteria: Scholarship Scheme

IIM Indore offers scholarship to meritorious candidates who have done exceptionally well in their academics. The institute also provides need-based financial aid to aspirants especially of the reserved category whose annual income from all sources is up to INR 4.50 lakhs.

The PGP Office of IIM Indore will provide details on scholarships administered by the Institute to all candidates after final admission.
