How to answer Non-MCQ Questions in CAT 2017?

This year, candidates have to answer 28 Non-MCQ in CAT exam. The change was introduced in CAT 2015 in which direct answers to be typed on the screen. These Non-MCQs are also labeled as TITA (Type In The Answer). 

  • TITA questions constitute 33% of the total questions asked in CAT. 

     

  • There is no negative marking for Non-MCQs.

     

  • Candidates must have a clear knowledge of the basic fundamentals in order to correctly answer these type of questions. 

     

What are Non-MCQs in CAT 2017?

Non-Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) are not followed by different answer choices.Basically,these questions have no answer options available against each question.The aspirant can attempt Non MCQ questions with an elaborative or brief answers.

How to Solve Non MCQs?

A candidate while attempting Non-MCQ’s need to type the descriptive answer with his/her keyboard.So,it is advisable to solve the question on blank paper before writing it on the system.We will tell you the 4 easiest way to solve Non-MCQ’s for CAT 2016

  • Note down the relevant points of question on blank paper,first.This will give you an idea to expand your answer logically and that too in less time.
  • Make a list of findings if two questions are interrelated and solve them accordingly.

  • Type the answer on the system as fast as you can and last but not the least read the answer twice before submitting it.

How answering Non MCQ's will help CAT 2016 aspirants?

Due to NO NEGATIVE MARKING in Non-MCQ's,CAT 2016 aspirant will get brownie points but, he/she needs to be careful while attempting Non-MCQs as proper knowledge and clarification of subjects is essential in order to score in Non-MCQ's.CAT 2016 Exam is expected to have 84 marks weightage of Non MCQs out of 300.Also, the aspirants should know about the Marking Scheme of CAT 2016 for better and smooth conduct of the exam.

CAT 2017

CAT 2017 or Common Admission Test is a doorway to various management courses in IIMs.It is the computer based exam in India for MBA admissions in 19 IIMs and over 150 B-schools.CAT exam is organized by 19 IIMs on a rotational basis.For this year,IIM Bangalore is organizing the test.
