NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
CAT 2015 is going to be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015.The CAT Exam Application Process has been started since August 6, 2015 and it will last till September 20, 2015. Those who have taken CAT before must be familiar with the syllabus of test, but if you are a first timer you need to understand the pattern and syllabus of the test.Although there is no predefined syllabus for CAT,however on the basis of previous year test patterns and analysis we can easily understand the areas from which questions are asked.This year CAT is going through major changes in terms of pattern,so it is very necessary to understand the pattern of the test and start preparing according to it.

CAT is a computer based test since 2009.CAT was basically divided into two sections till 2014.However CAT 2015 unlike previous years will be divided into three sections which are Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal & Reading Comprehension, and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning.The total time duration of the test is also changed, now it will be 180 minutes i.e.60 minutes for each section,which was 170 minutes earlier.This year there is another major change in CAT pattern: some questions from each section will be subjective type,i.e.you have to type the answers directly.Although it is not disclosed yet,how many descriptive questions will be asked.Each question will carry equal marks, i.e.3 marks for each correct answer.MCQs will be evaluated with negative marking, i.e.1 mark will be deducted for every wrong response and Non MCQs will be exempted from negative marking.

This is the most important and scoring section of CAT.Also it is considered to be the toughest among all sections.Earlier this section was asked with DI,but this year this will be asked as separate section.34 questions will be asked from this section and time allotted for this section will be one hour.There will be subjective type questions too along with MCQs.There is also some good news for CAT 2015 aspirants,especially for QA part,this year, for the first time in CAT,onscreen calculator will be provided.

Now, questions from this section cover following main topics:

Simple Probability, Probability of Multiple Events, Independent and Dependent Events, Mutually, Exclusive Events, Conditional Probabilities, Combinations
Data Interpretation will be asked in second section of CAT 2015 along with Logical Reasoning.This section will consist of 32 questions among which 16 questions will be from DI.Time allotted for this section will also be 60 minutes.Questions in DI are basically based on interpretation and analysis of data given in form of tables, charts or graphs.The questions from DI will include following topics:
Logical Reasoning is the second part of section two in CAT 2015.It is asked with DI section.Among 32 questions from this section 16 questions will be from LR.Following are the topics in LR from which questions will be asked:
Verbal ability and Reading comprehension will be the third section in CAT 2015.This section will consist of 34 questions,to be attempted in 60 minutes.Following are the areas from which questions are asked in this section:

Ans. First of all there is no defined syllabus for CAT.However there are some fixed topics from which questions are asked.There are some common topics like QA/DI,VA/LR in almost all entrance exams like XAT,MAT &CMAT,and SNAP etc.in which syllabus could be the same.But every exam has its own pattern of asking questions from these topics.

Ans. Since there is no defined syllabus,there is no chance of changing it.However the pattern can be changed.CAT pattern has gone through major changes year.Despite these changes questions will be asked from the same topics.
