NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
In 2015,CAT was conducted on November 29,2015 at almost 650 centers in India.More than 1.6 lakh students appeared for the exam which was conducted in two slots–forenoon (9am to 12 pm) and afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm).The exam was of 3 hours duration as opposed to previous duration of 2 and ½ hours.For the first time there was sectional time duration of one hour too.

The paper consisted of three sections instead of two.The candidates could not swap between sections and had to finish one section at a time.They were also provided an on-screen calculator.In CAT 2015,non-MCQ type questions were also made a part of the question paper.The number of questions in the respective sections were different as also was the number of non-MCQ type questions.The number of questions in each section is given below:

The Verbal and Reading Comprehension was the first section of the CAT 2015 test paper.The paper was deemed moderate to easy by the aspirants.However,the paper was lengthy and gave an edge to candidates who had extensively prepared and practiced mock tests.Out of 34 questions,24 were from Reading Comprehension part.All these 24 questions were MCQ type.The other 10 questions were from Verbal ability part and were of non-MCQ type.The breakup of the type of questions asked in this section is given below:

Data Interpretation was clubbed with Logical Reasoning and formed the second section of the test paper.The Data Interpretation questions ranged from hard to moderate to easy questions.The DI questions from set theory were hard.The DI questions were also lengthy and demanded great precision.

The overall outlook of Logical Reasoning questions was difficult to moderate.There were 4 non-MCQ type questions each in DI and LR.The breakup of question types in section II is given below:

The Quantitative Ability section had 34 questions out of which 15 were non-MCQs.The paper was designed to test knowledge of basic concepts of the candidates.There were no questions from Number System this time.An attempt of 24-27 questions was considered a good attempt.The constituent topics of this section is given below:
