The CAT Exam is in less than 45 days from now and all you CAT Exam candidates must either be buried deep into your big-fat CAT Preparation books or have probably bitten your nails and worked up your nerves or are simply feeling confident and taking it easy. Switch on your CAT Exam Notifications

Preparing for an Exam is one thing but it is equally important to know the latest news and gossip regarding your Exam! This year there have been some major changes in the CAT Exam and you must read them too in order to excel in your preparations. Here is a quick glance at the changes:-

  • Addition of a new section which will divide the paper into three sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal Reading and Comprehensions
  • Increase in Exam duration from 170 minutes to 180 minutes
  • Use of on-screen calculators is now permitted
  • Introduction of Descriptive questions
  • Expected sectional cut-off’s for IIM’s is 33% to 40%

Mock-up your preparations!

From this day until few days before the exam, you should stop reading and start solving Mock Papers. Not solving the mock papers is a pretty common mistake that the candidates commit. Solving the unsolved papers will familiarize you with different types and range of questions. Solve those mock papers and learn from the mistakes made in each test. Get your Documents in order

This step must be checked when you are a day or two away from the Exam. Among all the nervousness and excitement it is possible that you forget to pack your documents. Don’t worry we are here to help. Following is a list of documents you must pack:-

  • CAT 2015 Admit Card
  • An original and valid photo identification document to the test Centre.
  • SC/ST candidates will have to produce a valid document as proof of SC/ST eligibility.
  • Acceptable forms of photo identification listed in are Driver's license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID (supplemented with an ATM, Debit or Credit Card with your name), Employee identification card, Unique Identification Card (UID) or a notarized Affidavit (in English) with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address.


Calm those Nerves

Keep calm and give the CAT Exam. Rushing through the exam will lead you to make mistakes and slacking off in the exam will lead you to loose marks. Balance between the two is the way to go about this Exam. Listen to some music to relax your mind, talk to people around you and don’t keep on solving the mock papers till the very last minute! It is extremely important to take good care of your health too. Remember, all your preparations do down the drain if you fall sick, just days before the exam.
