NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
CMAT conducted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has released the merit list of students who were successful in the exam held on January 28 and 29, 2017. Total 59181 candidates qualified in the test this year. This list provides the rank, name, sectional & total score and percentile of the candidates. The test takers can log on to the official website to check their sectional and overall percentile.
Saras Suhane has topped CMAT 2017 with 100 percentiles (overall score: 350). Laganjit Das, who stood second, has also scored 100 percentiles overall (overall score: 329).
Six other candidates have scored 99.99 percentile (overall) and 2 women candidates have found their place in top 10. Khushboo Raghani, ranked 7th, scored 99.99 percentile (overall) and Medha Sharma, ranked 10th, scored 99.98 percentile (overall).
CMAT was held at 62 exam centers across the country. Marks scored in CMAT are valid for admissions to various management courses in B-schools across the country. There are over 3500 AICTE approved B-schools which are expected to take CMAT scores including JBIMS, Sydenham, KJ Somaiya, IMT and GIM among others.
The CMAT 2017 result-cum-merit list play a vital role in shortlisting of the candidates for the GD/PI rounds of the CMAT 2017 Participating Institutes. Candidates can check their result by following these simple steps:
1. Visit the official website of CMAT 2017.
2. Click on the button mentioning “All India Merit List”.
3. The CMAT 2017 Merit List appears on the screen.
4. Download the CMAT 2017 Merit list to your system.
5. Keep a printout of the same for future reference.

Yes, the correlation is extremely overstated. The far deeper correlation is likely to be between accuracy and percentile. The number of attempts is merely the most visible metric. A percentile is a statistical measure of distribution. Calculation of percentile basically depends on the number of test takers. Total 59181 candidates qualified in the test this year.
Percentile rank is equated on the basis of percentage score that falls below a certain specified score. With the total scale scores arranged in rank order from the lowest to highest in 100 equally sized groups, a table with the total scale scores to percentile ranks will be created. After the scores are identified and arranged, high scoring candidate’s name will be identified from the top among high scorers and subsequent list of low scorers.
The sectional and overall score and percentile are furnished in the CMAT Merit List. The total score in the test is the net positive marks obtained by the candidate. The CMAT 2017 percentile has been calculated using the following formula –
Percentile in CMAT 2017 (P) = ((N- candidate’s rank)/ N) x 100
(Where P is percentile and N is total number of candidates appeared for exam)
Scorecards for the CMAT can be downloaded from February 9, after 10 am. The CMAT 2017 score card is valid for the year 2017-18. It’s a three- hour computer based online test which was conducted in a single session to evaluate a candidate’s ability in quantitative technique, logical reasoning, language comprehension and general awareness. Also, it is necessary that the scorecard is printed by the candidate and is carried at the time of CMAT 2017 Counselling. Separate scorecards will not be sent by email or by post to the candidates.
CMAT cutoff 2017 is the minimum marks according to which an applicant may have chance to opt for their desired institute. The CMAT 2017 cutoff may vary from 170-285, in various institutes.

After the CMAT 2017 Merit List is declared, the candidates who have scored above the qualifying marks will be called for Counselling Process.
A candidate will be called Group Discussion if he or she has cleared CMAT 2017 Exam. After the candidate, has scored qualifying marks in the Group Discussion (GD), then only they can appear for Personal Interview/Written Ability Test.
CMAT Selection Procedure involves following steps:
1. CMAT 2017 Score
2. Group Discussion (GD): candidates may be split in groups of 10 or so and then, they may be given a topic related to current affairs or business affairs to discuss. Points are awarded on the basis of the initiation skill, negotiation skills, managerial skills, encouragement skills & closure skills.
3. Personal Interview (PI) and/or Written Ability Test (WAT): A confident personality, a creative thought process and an innovative bent of mind are the parameters that are looked for in the candidate.
