JEECE 2017-Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Exam

JEECE (Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Exam) will be conducted from this year for admission to B.Tech and B.E program from this year onwards. JCECEB (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board) is the organizing body for JEECE.

It was initially scheduled to be conducted on May 07, 2017. Since the dates of JEECE and NEET 2017 clashed, so JEECE was postponed. The exam will now be conducted on May 13, 2017. Only local or permanent residents of Jharkhand can apply for the exam.

  • Candidates have to apply through an online application process which began from April 03, 2017 and ended on April 24, 2017. The official website to apply for the exam is
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks with PCM subjects in class XII are required to apply for the course. 5% relaxation is given to all the reserved category candidates.
  • Apply for PCM Group- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subject group. Aggregate marks in all the three subjects will be considered to qualify for JEECE Counselling.

JEECE Admit Cards are available on the official website. Last date to download the admit card is May 13, 2017. It is mandatory to carry the JEECE Admit Card to the allotted exam center along with a valid ID proof. Also, print multiple copies of the admit card to avoid discrepancies later. JEECE is conducted for one subject group- PCM. The exam is scheduled for May 13, 2017 in offline mode. The important features of JEECE Exam Pattern are enlisted below:

  • There are 150 objective type questions in the exam with 50 questions from each subject.
  • The time limit allotted to complete the exam is 3 hours
  • JEECE Syllabus includes topics from Class XI and Class XII CBSE syllabus
  • Physics and Chemistry section is conducted in one shift while Mathematics section is conducted in a separate shift on the same day
  • Mark your answers in the OMR Sheet using either blue or black ball point pen. Make sure you mark the answer correctly by completely filling the circle.
  • Each question carries one mark while 0.25 mark is deducted for every incorrect response

JEECE 2017 Exam Dates

JEECE has been introduced by JCECE Board this year for admission to B.Tech/B.E. program in Jharkhand. The exam was initially scheduled on May 07, 2017 but it has been now postponed to May 13, 2017. Given below is the tentative schedule for JEECE 2017:

JEECE 2017 Eligibility

In order to appear for JEECE 2017, candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility conditions laid down by the JCECEB. The conditions of eligibility specify the nationality of the candidate, educational qualifications as well as fitness requirement for JEECE 2017. The details regarding eligibility for JEECE 2017 are as follows:

Residential Criteria

Candidates who wish to appear for JEECE 2017 must be national of India and local resident of Jharkhand.

Educational qualifications

The educational qualification required to sit for JEECE 2017 is that the candidates must have acquired at least 45% marks in 10+2 examinations with Physics and Mathematics as main subject along with chemistry. A relaxation of up to 5% aggregate marks is given to the candidates belonging to the reserved category.

Physical Fitness

Before the admission process is realized, candidates will have to appear for a medical test which will be conducted by the Board or the allocated institution. Candidates need to pass the fitness test in order to get admission to B. Tech program.

JEECE 2017 Application Form

JEECE 2017 Application Form will be filled through online mode only. Those who wish to apply will have to visit the official website of the board and click on the link “Online Application for JEECE 2017”. It is mandatory to have scanned copy of the required documents such as, Marksheet of 10+2 examination, passport size photograph, signatures, and Left hand thumb impression.

Note that only one application is accepted from a candidate. Multiple applications will be rejected straightaway. The last date to apply online is April 24, 2017. The application fee payable for JEECE 2017 is INR 900 for General/ BC-I and BC- II category while INR 450 must be paid by Reserved category candidates and females.

JEECE 2017 How to Apply

JEECE 2017 Application process includes Registration Process, Filling Application Form, Uploading the required documents and finally payment of Application Fee. The details regarding each step have been described below:


  • Go to the official website of JCECEB.
  • Click on the link ‘Apply for JEECE 2017’
  • Select the subject group of your examination and sign the declaration.
  • Enter the required details such as Name, Gender, Category, Email id, Date of Birth, etc.
  • After submitting details, obtain the log in id and password.

Filling Application Form and Uploading Documents

  • Log in with the given id and fill in the application form completely
  • Upload the required documents
  • Click on ‘submit’

Payment of Application Fee

  • After submitting the application form, you will be redirected to a new page.
  • Select the payment option from Net Banking, Credit Card/Debit Card and proceed.
  • Enter required details and proceed to pay.
  • Keep a printed copy of the application form secure with you.

JEECE 2017 Admit Card

JEECE 2017 Admit Card is now available on the official website of JCECEB. Those who have filled the application form successfully can obtain the admit card through online mode only, no correspondence will be done via offline mode.

Information such as Candidate’s name, Roll Number, Photograph, Date of Birth, Exam Venue, Exam Date, Timings, etc. shall be enclosed in the admit card. The admission of candidates to the examination hall will be on the basis of acquirement of the JEECE 2017 Admit Card.

Steps to download JEECE 2017 Admit Card

  • Visit the official website of the board and click on the link provided.
  • Click on the ‘Admit Card’ tab.
  • You will be redirected to a new page.
  • Fill in the required details such as name of examination, Registration and Date of Birth.
  • Click on ‘Submit’.
  • The admit card will be displayed on your screen.
  • Download it and secure two to three copies with you.

JEECE Exam Centers 2017

JEECE will be conducted at 6 different test cities located in Jharkhand. Here are the details related to the JEECE Exam Center

  • The details of the allotted exam venue are mentioned on the JEECE Admit Card.
  • Mention any two preferences among the list of JEECE Exam centers in the application form
  • Generally candidates are allotted the first choice. It may vary according to the number of applications for that center
  • The decision of the JCECE Board is considered final. No request of change of exam center is entertained by the board

JEECE 2017 Exam Pattern

JEECE 2017 Exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2017 from 10:15 AM to 1: 30 PM. The question paper will pose questions, both in English as well as Hindi language. It comprises 150 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions are objective in nature. One mark will be awarded for every correct answer and one-fourth marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. JEECE 2017 Exam Pattern has been given below for the convenience of the candidates:

Note that the syllabus covered under JEECE 2017 Exam will be based on common syllabus of CBSE for class 12. Candidates must prepare for the subject group PCM, according to the syllabus covered by CBSE.

JEECE 2017 Results

JEECE 2017 Results are expected to be out within a month of the commencement of the examination. candidates who will appear for the examination on May 7, 2017 can obtain their results from the official website of Board in fourth week of May, 2017. The steps to download the JEECE 2017 Results are:

  • Go to the official website of the JCECE board
  • Look for ‘result’ link.
  • Select the examination and enter the roll number and other details.
  • Click on ‘search’ and the result will be displayed your screen.
  • Download the result and keep a printed copy of it secure with you.

Once the results are declared, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of the results obtained by the candidates. The list will include combined merit list and category wise merit list. If two two or more candidates obtained equal marks, then JCECE Board determines a sequence of preference for inter-se merit. Candidates with higher score in Mathematics or Physics are considered first. If it is no resolved then candidates with older in age will be preferred.

JEECE 2017 Counselling

The counselling process will be conducted in two rounds- first round of counselling and second round of counselling. After the declaration of JEECE 2017 Results, the shortlisted candidates will have to attend the first round of counselling as per the information provided on the board website. If the seats remain vacant, second round of counselling will be conducted. The computerized parallel counselling will be conducted by the JCECE Board. More information regarding counselling will be updated soon on the official website after JCECE Results are declared. Qualifying candidates are requested to go through the information bulletin for appearing in the counselling.

JEECE 2017 Cut off

The cut off is determined on the basis of number of candidates appeared for JEECE 2017 exam, level of difficulty and availability of seats. The admission to the candidates is given on the basis of the cut off. If a candidate qualifies to the cut off set by the board, he/she will be called for counselling process.
