NEET 2018 Participating BDS Colleges

This year, NEET will be conducted on May 10, 2018 in offline mode. This three hour long exam will be the pathway to medical and dental colleges across the country. CBSE, the conducting body, will declare the results for NEET in June 2018. Once the results have been announced, counselling for various colleges will commence in July 2018. The entire application process and Exam will be conducted online. The reservation policy for NEET is the same for MBBS and BDS. Check released notification for NEET 2018

Almost 63 dental colleges will be participating in NEET 2018. For admission, students must check NEET cutoff of their desired college and ensure that they have scored the qualifying marks. Seats will be filled through All India Quota and State Quota. Candidates must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria for AIQ as mentioned in the brochure. Admission into BDS and MBBS through state quota will be subject to the eligibility criteria stipulated by the respective states.

Ques. Which all types of colleges participate in NEET?

Ans.Medical and Dental colleges.

Ques. What courses do the colleges participate in NEET offer to the qualifying students?

Ans.These colleges offer MBBS and BDS degree courses to the students qualifying NEET.

Ques. How much time do the colleges participating in NEET give to the students to join their college after completion of counselling?

Ans.Candidates who are allotted the admission seats are required to join the allotted college and course within stipulated time which is mentioned in counseling schedule. However, candidates are advised to join as early as possible and not to wait for last day of joining, due to different schedule of holiday (including local holidays) and working hours in various medical and dental colleges. In some of the colleges or universities, 2-3 days of time is required to complete admission formalities. Therefore, candidates are advised to contact the allotted college immediately after declaration of result of counseling allotment process, to know the details. If candidate fails to join the allotted medical or dental college within stipulated time, then the allotted seat will be cancelled and candidate will not be eligible for further round of the online counseling.

Ques. What documents are required at the time of joining in the allotted medical or dental college?

Ans. Students need to carry the following original documents (along with attested photocopies) for admission while reporting the allotted college:

  • Admit card of NEET exam issued by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
  • Result and rank letter issued by CBSE
  • Birth certificate, if the Metric certificate does not cover it
  • Matric certificate
  • 12th certificate
  • 12th marks sheet
  • Six (6) passport size photograph same as affixed on the application form
  • Provisional allotment letter generated online
  • Proof of identity
  • SC/ST/OBC/Disability certificate, if applicable

 

Ques. Is there any restriction for filling up the number of preferred colleges in choice filling form?

Ans.No, you may fill as many choices as you like in the order you want.

Ques. What if I do not specify the list of colleges in choice filling form?

Ans.You will be allocated a seat at a college in a randomized way.

Ques. If some new seats are created in new medical or dental colleges after start of online counseling, in which round of the counselling will these be considered?

Ans.Newly sanctioned seats could not be included in first and second rounds of counselling due to late reporting after start of first round of online allotment process. Those however will be included in third round on receiving information from participating medical or dental colleges before the start of third round.
