NEET 2018 Exam Centers

NEET is the single tier exam for admission into MBBS and BDS in several medical and dental colleges across the country. It will be conducted by CBSE in the offline mode in about 84 centers scattered in different states. Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra will have the maximum number of centers.

How to choose Exam Centers?

While filling the application form for NEET, candidates can give their top 3 preferences for exam centers. Final allotment will be done by the exam authorities and cannot be changed. Queries/requests for the same shall not be entertained.

Candidates will have to log in to their NEET account and enter the required details along with their 3 choices of exam centers. The choices must be filled according to the candidate’s order of preference. Once the form is submitted, candidates are not allowed to make any changes. Hence, it is advised that the candidates double check every entry that they have made and choose the center as per their convenience and accessibility. The selection of NEET exam center will be done on a first come first serve basis.

NEET Exam Center Allotment according to choice of language

Exam centers will be allotted according to the choice of language made by the candidate in his/her application form . Overall, there are 10 languages from which candidates can choose to give their exam. The table given below enlists the languages and the states they will be available in.

Instructions for Exam Centers

  • The exam center will be opened 2.5 hours before the exam, i.e., at 7:30 am. No entry will be allowed after 9:30 am so candidates are advised to reach well in advance. CheckNEET 2018 Exam Dates
  • Candidates are required to carry the NEET Admit card, the proforma with a post card sized photograph pasted on it and some passport sized photographs to be pasted on the attendance sheet.
  • Carrying the Admit Card is mandatory for all students giving the exam. Without the admit card, they will not be allowed into the exam center.
  • Follow all the instructions mentioned in the admit card and maintain discipline in the exam hall.
  • Candidates are advised to make their own arrangements for personal belongings. Exam centers may or may not have any provision for depositing their bags, etc.
  • Candidates must follow the dress code prescribed in the Information Bulletin that can be accessed at the official website for NEET.
  • The roll number will be mentioned on every seat. Candidates must check whether it matches with the roll number on their admit card.

NEET Exam Centers FAQs

Ques.I am opting Assamese as language of the NEET 2018 question paper. Will I be able to get the center of examination in Delhi?

Ans.No. In case you opt for a vernacular language as medium of question paper, you will be allotted the exam center in the respective state of the vernacular language only. So you will get the examination center only in Assam.

Ques.Could I also get the examination center in a city other than the three options specified in the application form?

Ans.Yes. CBSE reserves all rights to allocate an exam center in a city other than your specified choices.

Ques.I reside in Delhi. Can I opt Bangalore as exam center as my choice?

Ans.Yes. However, it is advised to select the center city in the State of your residence.

Ques.Can I get the NEET exam center changed after allotment of my admit card?

Ans.No.

Ques.What do I need to bring at the exam center?

Ans.

  • Admit card
  • One postcard size photograph affixed on the specified proforma
  • One passport size photograph to be affixed on attendance sheet

 

Ques.Will I be provided stationary at the NEET exam center?

Ans.No, you are suggested to carry your own stationary in spare.

Ques.Will I be able to appear for the exam if I forget the admit card at home?

Ans.No. Entry to the exam center is not permitted without the admit card.

Ques.How many exam centers are identified across the country for NEET 2018?

Ans.There will be 104 NEET 2018 exam centers across the country.

Ques.How can I specify my choice for the preferred exam center?

Ans.You can mark your choice while filling the online application form. You will be given three choices which have to be filled in order of preference.

Ques.On what basis are the NEET exam center choices fulfilled?

Ans.The exam committee allocates you the exam center depending on your specified preference and availability of the corresponding exam center. If you have chosen a vernacular language then the center will be allotted accordingly.

Ques.From where can I find the information related to my allocated NEET 2018 exam center?

Ans.The name and address of the exam center allocated to you will be mentioned in the admit card issued to you.
