NEET 2017 Counselling

NEET 2017 Counselling Process for both All India Quota Seats as well as state quota seats is completed now. All the seats in MBBS and BDS acros s different medical and dental colleges have been filled by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) or state counseling authorities. NEET Counselling was organised by MCI to fulfill 13,000 MBBS and BDS seats.   • BCECE NEET Mop up Counselling final registration had started from September 3, 2017.
  • Publication of counselling program and Vacancy details will be published on September 5, 2017. 
  • Reporting at Govt./Pvt. Colleges will done on September 6-7, 2017.
  • There will be a centralized counselling for 15% seats falling All India Quota seats.

  • The State counselling will be conducted by Directorate of respective states
  • Some states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir will not participate in 15% All India Quota Counselling
  • Admission in such states will be solely done through State Counselling Process
  • If seats remain vacant under 15% All India Quota seats, they will be transferred to State Quota seats

Registration for NEET 2017 Counselling

Each candidate is required to visit MCC official website for the registration procedure after the candidate has successfully qualified in the NEET exam and NEET 2017 Merit List is published.  Any candidate who has been declared eligible for the counselling is required to undergo the following steps for NEET 2017 Counselling Registration:

Step1. Visit the MCC website and click on “New Registration” link.

Step 2. Enter the relevant details on the web page displayed after clicking the link. The details include the Roll Number, Application Number, Candidate’s Name, Date of birth as per the details were given during the NEET 2017 application form procedure.

Step 3. Choose a security password. This password should be remembered by the candidate until the completion of the Online Allotment Admission Process.

Step 4. The password chosen should adhere to the Password policy. The rules are:

  • Password must be 8-13 characters long.
      1. Password must contain at least: One capital letter (A-Z)
      1. One small letter (a-z)
      2. One numeric (0-9)
      3. One special character (@#$ %)

      Step 5. After generating the password, the candidate will have to press the Submit button.

      Step 6. Then, the candidate will be required to enter the code received through the One Time Password (OTP) to complete the NEET 2017 counselling process. This OTP will be sent to the candidate on their registered mobile number.

      Step 7. Then, the candidate will have to click on a Candidate Agreement to complete the registration process.

      After the candidate has verified all the details displayed on the web page as per the details provided to the NEET 2017 during the Application Form filling, the candidate has to confirm their registration by clicking on the “Confirm Registration” button.

      A registration slip will be generated after clicking on the Confirm Registration button and the candidate must take a print of the same for future references.

      Documents Required for NEET 2017 Counselling Process

      All the successful applicants are required to carry the following document at the time of the NEET 2017 counselling.

      • 10th and 12th class Mark sheets.
      • 10th and 12th class Passing Certificate.
      • Birth Certificate.
      • Rank Card of NEET 2017
      • Two Passport Sizes photograph similar to that affixed on the NEET 2017 Application Form.
      • Caste Certificate (If applicable)
      • PWD Certificate (If applicable)
      • Counselling Letter issued by NEET Authority.

      Candidates have to bring all the original documents along with the attested photocopy of the required document for the purpose of verification only.

      NEET 2017 Registered User Login

      After the New Registration, the candidate can login to their account anytime with the help of their password and Roll number.

      • To login to the MCC website, the candidate has to select the “Candidate Login” button displayed on the MCC website.
      • The candidate will be redirected to a webpage where candidates should enter their Roll Number and Password.
      • The candidate is required to enter the Roll Number and correct Password to login successfully.
      • In case any candidate forgets his/her login password, they should click on the Forgot Password link and follow the steps to create a new password.

      Choices Available in NEET 2017

      Once the candidate has successfully registered and logged in to the account, they have to click on the link “Choice Available”. The system will internally search the credentials of the candidate like gender, category, subcategory, date of birth and the eligibility marks. After this process, the available choices of the colleges are displayed which will be specific to the candidate database.

      A new window will be displayed with the candidate details on the top and the total number of choices available for MBBS and BDS.       Submission of Choices in NEET 2017

      The candidate can choose from the list by clicking on “Choice Filling” icon. From the displayed list of choices as per the eligibility criteria, the candidate can click on the plus button to add the choices to selection. Choices will be displayed in the left corner and once the candidate selects them, they will move to the right side corner. After selection, the candidates should click ‘Save and Continue’ to save the options and ‘Save and Go to Home’ to go back to the homepage after making all the selections.

      The list of options available will show the complete address and the name of the city where the college is located. The choices can be selected alphabetically, course-wise, state-wise or alphabetical order of course and institution etc. The choices can be moved up and down as desired by clicking the upper arrow or lower arrow button.

      Deleting Choices in NEET 2017

      There is also a provision in NEET 2017 counselling process also has a provision to delete any of the choices or a group of choices from the selected list of institutes. To delete a single choice or a multiple number of choices, the candidate has to select the boxes and click on “Delete Checked Items”.


      NEET 2017 Seat Allotment

      Once the candidate has made the selection of institutes from the given list of institutes, they have to select the “Indicative Seat” option from the left hand bar and during this indicative seat allotment (Mock Counselling), the choices made by the candidate will be processed twice on the notified dates during the NEET 2017 Registration and Choice Filling period. This will then display an indicative seat allotment (mock counselling) result which will contain the indicative seats which are available at that point. This indication or mock counseling enables the candidates to refine their choice list and delete any colleges which are not likely to provide them with a seat.

      Ranks Range for NEET 2017 Counselling

      NEET 2017 counselling would start after the declaration of the NEET 2017 Result. The counselling is conducted for only those candidates who have successfully secured a rank in all India quota categories. Central board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will prepare the rank range of all candidates based on the marks obtained by them in the NEET 2017 exam. The rank card is declared immediately after declaring the NEET 2017 result. The rank list contains the category wise rank range for all successful candidates. The table below indicates the previous year rank range of the candidate under the different categories.

      NEET 2017 Choice Locking

      Every candidate must keep in mind that the locking of the choices made is a mandatory prerequisite to acquiring admission through NEET 2017. Once all the choices are made, the choices need to be locked so that they are accordingly processed by the concerned authorities who grant admission. It is a very important step in the NEET 2017 counselling procedure. There will be a definite choice locking period in the NEET 2016 CounsellingSchedule during which the candidate will be allowed to lock the choices.

      The choice locking is fairly simple, the candidate just has to click on the ‘Choice Lock Button’ and confirm the choices and the choices will be successfully locked. Also, once the choices are locked by the candidate, they cannot be unlocked later. The choices can be locked only when the candidate selects the option and enters the password.

      In case any candidate fails to lock the choices within the duration, the given choices will be automatically locked on the last day of the locking period at 5:00 pm.

      Once the candidate has locked their choices, they will be required to take a print out of the locked choices which include details as: locked choices, locking date and time, IP address of the computer and system generated unique number.

      Forgot Password/Change Password

      The candidate can change their password anytime by clicking on the ‘Change Password Button’ in the options. After clicking on it, the candidate will be redirected to the next page which will require the candidate to enter the old password and change the new password and then save the changes.

      The password can be changed when not logged in. To change the password, the candidate can choose the Forgot Password option on the login page and then enter the details like Roll number, Registration Number, Candidate name, date of birth, security question and answer to authenticate the identity of the candidate. Once these details are entered the password can be easily reset.

      NEET 2017 Seat Matrix

      The seat matrix of NEET 2017 indicates the number of seats available in the various colleges among the state medical colleges and university. The seat matrix of NEET 2017 divides the seats as per the categories.

      It will be issued after the final allotment of seats after the completion of the NEET 2017 counselling sessions. It is a list of all the colleges and the division of seats. The organizing committee of NEET 2017 will firstly issue a tentative seat matrix list and then a final seat matrix list is issued.

      NEET 2017 participating colleges for admission through 15% All India Quota are approved by the Medical Council of India and the colleges for BDS are approved by the Dental Council of India. These colleges are provided as a list on the official websites of the two Councils.
