Application Form for NEET will be released by CBSE in January 2018 on their official website. Only a successful submission of the form will enable the candidate to appear for NEET 2018. Check released notification for NEET 2018. The form can be filled online and the payment can be made via gateways as per the candidate’s preference like UPI, Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, E-Wallet.

Are you eligible to fill the Application form?

It is essential to check the eligibility criteria for NEET before filing the Application Form . If you’re not found eligible at any stage, you will be disqualified from giving the exam.

  1. Age

Minimum Age Limit- The candidate should be 17 years of age by December 31, 2018. 

Maximum Age Limit- The maximum age limit for general category candidates is 25 years and for reserved categories it is 30 years. Check Details about NEET Documents

  1. Nationality

Persons eligible to appear for the exam include:

  • Indian Nationals
  • Non Resident Indians (NRIs)
  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs)
  • Persons of Indian Orgin (PIOs)
  • Foreign Nationals.
  1. Educational Qualification
  • Students who have passed the class 12 qualifying exam are eligible to appear for the NEET exam. 
  • Students who are appearing for the class 12 exam may also apply for the exam.
  • Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology as their subjects in Class XII.
  • General Category- 50% marks in qualifying exam.
  • OBC/SC/ST Category- 40% marks in qualifying exam.
  • General- Physically Handicapped Category- 45% marks in qualifying exam.

How to fill the Application form?

The Application form will be released by CBSE on their official website. Candidates will have to fill the form online and the payment can be made through Debit/Credit Card, Net banking, E wallets and UPI. Check Corrections in NEET Application form

Application Process

The candidate can fill their Application Form only on the official website. Let us walk you through the process.

Step 1- Registration

  1. Visit the official website and click on the ‘New Registration’ link.
  2. Read the instructions carefully and click on ‘Apply Online’.
  3. You will be redirected to the Registration page where you will have to fill in your personal details like Name, Parents’ Name, Category, Email ID, Phone No.
  4. Once you’ve filled in all the fields, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  5. After submitting the registration form, you will be redirected to a new page to create your password and select a security question for your account, in case you forget your password. You will also have to punch in the OTP that will be sent to your mobile number
  6. You will receive a registration number after the successful completion of this process which will be used for future log ins along with your password.

Step 2- Filling the Application form

  1. Fill in your personal details like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality.
  2. Choose your medium of Question Paper and three choices of Examination Centers for NEET.
  3. Enter your Academic details, Residential Address and Details of Parents.
  4. Review all the details to check for any errors and once you’re done click on ‘Final Submit’.

Note: Once you click on ‘Final Submit’, you will not be allowed to change any details. Therefore, candidates are advised to review their application form carefully.

Step 3- Upload documents

You will be asked to upload a scanned copy of your passport sized photograph and signature.

Rules for uploading photograph and signature

  • The passport sized photograph should have the candidate’s name and the date of taking the photograph, which should be after January 1, 2018.

  • The signature should be made with a blue or black pen on a white background.

Step 4- Submit Application Fee

Candidates must choose their preferred mode of payment from the following available options:

  • UPI App
  • Debit/Credit Card of any bank
  • Net Banking of any bank
  • E-Wallet

Follow the instructions given on the website carefully to pay the application fee.

Candidates must also check the Application Fee before making the payment.

Note: In addition to examination fee, service/processing charges will also be paid by the candidate along with Service Tax, for online fee payment.

After submission of application fee, the form can not be withdrawn. Any claims for refund of application fee will not be entertained.

Step 5- Confirmation Page

  • If your application status shows ‘Confirmed’, it means your application has been accepted by the exam authorities.
  • Candidates can take a print out of their application form after this.
  • Candidates are advised to take a printout of the confirmation page as well.

Application Form Correction

Candidates will get an opportunity to make corrections in their Application form for NEET. Candidates can make the changes by logging into their account on the official website. The following fields will be open for a one-time correction for a few days in March 2018.

Retrieving your NEET password

Forgot the password for your account? Fret not. These simple steps will help you log into your account and set a new one.

  1. Open the official website and go to the candidate log in. Click on ‘Forgot Password’.
  2. You will be redirected to the password generation page.
  3. You can reset your password by generating an OTP or by answering the security question you had set during the application process.
  4. Fill up the fields and enter your new password.

Common Service Centres/ Facilitation Centers

For NEET, Application Form generation and submission will be an online procedure. Therefore, for candidates from rural areas, CBSE will be enlisting the services of Common Service Centres (CSC), Ministry of I.T., Government of India under the Digital India initiative.

More than 2.4 lakh CSCs will be aiding candidates from rural areas in the filling and submission of the Application Form along with the payment of applicaton fee through E-Wallet.

Things to Remember

  • Application Form is expected to be released in January 2018.
  • The Application Form can be filled only via online mode.
  • Check the eligibility criteria before you start filling the form.
  • There’s no facility for offline payment of the application fee.
  • If you have made any corrections in the form, take a print out for future reference.
  • If you have changed your category during the correction of the Application Form, you will have to pay the extra fee, if applicable.
  • Candidates do not have to send any documents to CBSE. The whole process is strictly online.

NEET 2018 FAQs

Ques. Can we submit the application form for NEET offline?

Ans. No. Submission of the Application form and payment of Application fee can be done only online. For any kind of assistance regarding the filling, submission of payment of fee for application form, candidates can contact the nearest Common Services Center.

Ques. Can we attach the photo without name and date printed on it?

Ans. It is mandatory to have the candidate’s name and date of clicking the picture on the passport sized photograph. Take multiple copies of the photograph since the same will be required for the Admit Card and throughout the admission process.

Ques. If a candidate is not appearing for the exam, can the application fee be refunded?

Ans. No. The Application Fee is non refundable, irrespective of whether the candidate sits for the exam or not.

Ques. Are any corrections allowed in the application form?

Ans. CBSE will release the dates for correction of application form. They can make the changes within the stipulated time frame. After that, no further changes can be made.

Ques. Can OCI candidates appear for NEET 2018 if they don’t have an Aadhar Card?

Ans. Yes. For such candidates, Passport details will be required instead of Aadhar Card.

Ques. Do we need to send a hard copy of the Application Form to CBSE’s office?

Ans. No documents must be sent to CBSE. The entire Application process will be conducted online.

Ques.  I have failed in one subject but my average is above 50%, Can I apply?

Ans. No, if you have failed in one subject you cannot apply.

Ques.  I am an NRI in Dubai and how can I apply for general seat for NRI?

Ans. NRI candidates are eligible to apply for a general seat. They can also apply for All India Quota. The ID Proof required would be their passport.

Ques. What is the maximum age limit for OBC?

Ans. 30 years.

Ques. My name on Aadhaar card is different than that on the 12th mark sheet, will I face a problem for verification or not?

Ans. The name should match on both documents.

Ques. My DOB is 30th January 1993. Am I eligible for NEET exam?

Ans. Yes. Age limit for General Category is 25 years and for reserved categories it is 30 years..

Ques. Are foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates eligible to apply for 15% all India quota seats?

Ans. Yes, all foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates are eligible to apply for 15% all India quota seats. They will have to show their passport No. as ID Proof.

Ques.  If a candidate has appeared in state as well as institutional level exams three times, but hasn't appeared in AIPMT/NEET even once, will they be eligible to appear for NEET 2018?

Ans. Yes, if a candidate has never appeared for AIPMT/NEET, then they can avail a maximum of three chances to appear in NEET provided they also fulfil the upper age limit criteria.

Ques. I live outside India and do not possess an Aadhaar Card, Can I apply for NEET 2018?

Ans. Candidates outside India may apply using their passport number.

Ques. I have recently submitted the request for update in their Aadhaar details due to some error, can I fill my NEET application form with the old Aadhaar number?

Ans. Yes, you can apply for NEET. While submitting the updating details, the Aadhaar center also issues a 14 digit Aadhaar enrollment ID/UR number printed on the slip. You will be required to enter this new number.

Ques.  In case of any problem in filling the NEET 2018 Application Form? Who can be approached?

Ans. If the candidates are facing any problem in submitting the NEET 2018 Application Form, they can contact Common Services Centers. They will act as Facilitation Centers this time and provide their services against the fee prescribed.

Ques. If a candidate has passed class XII with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from NIOS, is he/she eligible to appear for NEET-UG?

Ans. Yes, the applicants who have passed 10+2 from open school with 50% and fulfil the other eligibility criteria can apply and appear for NEET 2018.

Ques. When will NEET 2018 application form be available?

Ans. The application form for NEET 2018 is expected to be available from January 2018. The entire application procedure will be conducted online.

Ques. What documents are of importance while filling NEET Application Form 2018?

Ans. Candidates must keep their 10th and 12th marksheet close by while filling the form. They will also be required to upload scanned copies of their passport sized photograph and signature.

Ques. What are some precautions to keep in mind while filling application form of NEET 2018?

Ans. Candidates must keep their login passwords of NEET safe with them and not share it with anyone. It is a good habit to keep changing your password and always remember to logout from the NEET portal after you update, fill or submit the application form of NEET 2018 as per security measure. Before submitting the form, check all the details carefully since they cannot be changed later.

Ques. Is it permissible to change or retrieve the password of NEET application form 2018? How?

Ans. Yes. It is possible to retrieve the password of NEET. In case a candidate forgets the password, he/she can retrieve the same through the following steps:

Through OTP (One Time Password) on Registered Mobile Number: Candidates will need to enter their ‘Registration Number’, ‘Candidate’s Name’ and ‘Date of Birth’.

Answering the Security Question set while registering: Candidate can also retrieve the password by answering a bunch of security question.

Forgot Mobile number and Email ID: In order to retrieve the password through this method, candidates will need have to enter personal details.

Ques. How can I fill the NEET application form 2018 and pay the application fee if I don’t have any access to internet?

Ans. CBSE will be employing the help of ‘Common Service Centers’ or ‘Facilitation Centers’ through which candidates who don’t have an access to internet can fill and submit their application forms of NEET 2018. Candidates who fill NEET 2018 application form through Common Service Centers will be required to pay the application fee of NEET 2018 through e-wallets. A nominal fee will be charged for every service.

Ques. How to calculate your age for application?

Ans. You can calculate your age through online Age Calculator for NEET 2018. The age calculator gives your age as per your DOB and the date on which you want to calculate. Set the date December 31, 2018 for the date you want to calculate the age.

Ques. What is the application fee category wise?

Ans. For General/OBC Category- Rs. 1400/-

For SC/ST/PH Category- Rs. 750/-

Ques. Are Spectacles allowed in the photograph being affixed on the form?

Ans. Spectacles are allowed if being used regularly.

we are in Qatar . while filling NEET the column for nationality , many options are given as INDIAN, NRI etc. I entered INDIAN, but we are in Qatar now is it ok to chose INDIAN
