NDA 2017 Exam Dates

The NDA (National Defence Academy) is conducted to offer admissions to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of NDA for the 138th Course, and for the 100th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). It is a national level examination which is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). It is a written examination which is conducted twice a year i.e. in the month of April and September. The latest NDA exam is scheduled on April 23, 2017.

The candidates have to undergo a written examination and SSB Interview to be admitted in the desired programme through NDA Selection Process. The candidates are required to apply through an online NDA Application Process. The preparation for the NDA exam should be done according to the NDA Exam Pattern. The total number of vacancies announced by the conducting authority are 410 vacancies in all the programmes.

Schedule for NDA 2017 Application Process

The candidates have to apply for NDA through an online NDA Application Process. The initial notification for the NDA will releases on January 18, 2017. It is followed by release of the NDA Application form on January 18, 2017. The candidates have to fill the form online in two parts Registration Part 1 and Registration Part 2. The Part 1 of the Registration includes filling of personal and academic details of the candidate.

In the next part of the NDA Application form, the candidate has to upload the photograph and signature, mention payment details and choice of NDA Exam Center. The fee payment is the succeeding step post completion of the Application Process for NDA. The general category candidates have to pay a fee of INR 100 whereas reserved categories are exempted from paying the fee. The mode of payment is Debit Card or through Net banking or cash payment in any branch of State Bank of India.

Schedule for NDA 2017 Admit Card

The candidates receive the NDA Admit Card on the official website post submission of the complete and correct NDA Application form. The NDA Admit card is an e-admit card as it is available online. The NDA Admit Card is the mandatory document to be carried to the NDA Test center along with a valid ID proof and 2 passport sized photographs.

The Admit Card for NDA is different for each exam i.e. NDA 1 and NDA 2. The candidates must follow the important instructions mentioned before beginning the download process. UPSC releases the NDA Admit Card which can be accessed by entering the registration ID and date of birth.

Schedule for NDA 2017 Exam

The NDA exam is conducted offline i.e. it is a pen and paper based examination. NDA exam is divided into two sections i.e. Mathematics and General Ability as per the NDA Exam Pattern. The Mathematics section contains multiple choice questions with a total weightage of 300 marks. The medium of NDA exam is English and Hindi both. The duration for both Mathematics paper and General Ability test is 2.5 hours each.

The General Ability Test contains objective questions based on General English and General Knowledge with a weightage of 600 marks in total. Negative marking prevails in NDA, thus, the candidate must carefully mark the choices in the answer sheet. The candidates can practice for the NDA exam through syllabus based NDA Practice Papers.

Schedule for NDA 2017 Result

The candidates can check the NDA Result on the official website of the UPSC. The candidate must retain the Application Number and Date of Birth or Password to view the result for NDA. It is slated that the Result for NDA is declared two months after conduction of the NDA exam. The conducting authority releases the NDA Cut off so that the candidates can compare their scores to the minimum scores required for admission to the desired courses.

The conducting body also releases an official NDA Answer Key on the official website for the candidates. The NDA Answer Key is released two weeks after conduction of the NDA exam. The candidates can check and predict the NDA Result through the NDA Answer Key.

Schedule for NDA 2017 Selection Process

The NDA Selection Process is a two stage process which involves conduction of written test in Stage 1 and SSB interview in the Stage 2. The candidates have to appear for psychological and intelligence test on the first day of reporting to the Selection Centers/Air Force Selection Boards. The candidates must note that they will be marked out of 900 for both stages collectively during the NDA Selection Process.

The candidates who clear Stage 1 qualify for Stage 2 of the Selection Process for NDA. The candidates who clear the entire selection process for NDA are mentioned in the Final Merit List generated by the Board. The candidates who clear the entire process have to submit the original and photocopy of the Class 10 Certificate and Class 12 Passing Certificate.
