JEE MAIN 2018 PATTERN & SYLLABUS

NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST

JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern

The official JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern for both the papers will release soon. There will be two papers - Paper 1 is for the candidates appearing for B.E/B.Tech and Paper 2 for B.Planning/B.Arch aspirants.

Although there is no change in JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern as of now, there is a high possibility of change. This is evident from the Finance Minister’s announcement earlier this year that a National Testing Service will be formulated to replace Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in conducting the aptitude test.

Here are some quick facts about JEE Main Exam Pattern:

  • Paper 1 can be attempted in both online and offline mode, while Paper 2 can only be attempted in offline mode.
  • Paper 1 will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics while Paper 2 will have questions from Aptitude Test, Mathematics, and Drawing Test. Check  JEE Main Syllabus
  • There will be a total of 90 objective type questions in Paper 1 and 82 questions in Paper 2.
  • JEE Main 2018 will be conducted in 2 languages- English and Hindi across India. However, for some states, CBSE provides the option of attempting the question paper in their regional languages.
  • The duration of both papers is 3 hours each.
  • 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and ¼ marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Check JEE Main Sample Papers
