Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam (JCECE) is a state level entrance exam conducted for admission into various UG professional courses (like engineering, agriculture, forestry, homeopathy, etc.).

  • The exam is conducted each year by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) to fill in the seats of various professional UG courses offered by colleges in the state of Jharkhand.
  • The exam is generally conducted in the month of May-June. JCECE 2018 is also slated to be held in the month of June 2018.
  • The application form for JCECE 2018 would be made available in the month of April 2018 on the official website of JCECEB.
  • Admit cards for candidates would be made available in the month of May 2018 on the official website.
  • The exam is divided into three groups based on the course in which admissions are made.
  • The three groups are PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) group, PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) group, and PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) group.
  • PCM group is conducted for engineering aspirants, whereas, PCB group of exams is for agriculture, forestry, and medical course aspirants.
  • PCMB group is conducted for candidates who want to apply for both engineering and medical courses through JCECE 2018.
  • After the written exams of all the groups are over, a merit list of all the qualifying candidates based on their performance in the JCECE exam would be prepared.
  • Counselling-cum-admission process for that particular year would be conducted based on the merit list prepared for each group.

JCECE 2018 Eligibility

The eligibility for JCECE 2018 exam varies for different courses. The details regarding eligibility criteria are mentioned below for reference.

Common criteria for all courses

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • He/She must be a domicile of the state of Jharkhand.

For Engineering Courses

  • Candidate must have passed senior secondary or equivalent exam from a recognized board with at least 45% (40% for reserved category candidates) in aggregate.
  • Candidate must have studied and passed Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject as third one.

For Agriculture and Forestry courses

  • Candidate must have passed an intermediate or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
  • Candidate must have studied Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subject with Mathematics/Biology as third one with at least 45% (40% for reserved category candidates).

For Animal Husbandry course

  • Candidate must have passed an intermediate or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
  • Candidate must have passed the examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (compulsory one).

JCECE 2018 Application Form

Application form for JCECE 2018 would be made available in online mode only. Candidates would have to visit the official website in order to apply for the exam.

Registration Process

  • Go to the official website of JCECEB.
  • Click on JCECE 2018 application form.
  • Fill the registration details asked like the name, e-mail ID, mobile number, etc.
  • Click on submit.
  • A new registration ID and password would be sent to the registered E-mail address.

Application Process

  • Login to the portal using the credentials received through E-mail.
  • Fill in the details as per the directions given on the webpage.
  • Select the preference of course, exam center, etc.
  • Upload your signature and Photograph (as per dimensions provided in the notification) in .jpeg format.
  • Click on submit.

Admit card would be made available in both offline mode as well as online mode. Candidates should download the admit card within the stipulated time period. Candidates should follow the subsequent steps to download the Jharkhand Polytechnic 2018 Admit Card.

JCECE 2018 Exam Centers 

Candidates appearing for JCECE 2018 would be allowed to make a preference for the choice of examination center during the time of registration/application. The availability of the choice would rest with the conducting authority and would be decided on first come first serve basis.

JCECE 2018 Exam Pattern

  • The JCECE 2018 exam is conducted in offline mode.
  • A total of 150 MCQ type questions is asked in the exam.
  • Candidates are tested for their knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
  • Physics and Chemistry would be clubbed together in one single paper (for all groups) whereas Mathematics/Biology would comprise of a separate paper.
  • 50 questions would be asked from each subject.
  • Paper 1 (Physics + Chemistry) would be of two-hour duration.
  • Paper 2 (Mathematics/Biology) would be of one-hour duration.
  • One mark is allotted for each question.
  • The paper would be held in both English and Hindi languages.

JCECE 2018 Results

The results of JCECE 2018 exam are expected to be announced by the end of June 2018. Candidates would be able to check their results by visiting the official website as soon as they are published by them.

Candidates are required to follow the following steps in order to check their results:

  • Go to the official website of JCECEB.
  • Click on the link “JCECE 2018 Results”.
  • Click on the button ‘View Scorecard’.
  • You would be directed to a login window.
  • Log in using your registered e-mail id (entered at the time of making application) and password.
  • Click on submit.
  • JCECEB 2018 score card would appear on the screen.
  • Download it and take a printout of the same for future reference.

JCECE 2018 Counselling

As soon as the JCECE results are declared and the merit list is published, JCECEB would begin the counselling cum admission process for various courses. Those candidates who will clear the exam would be issued counselling letter.

The counseling would be conducted by the exam conducting authority and the details for it would be published on the official website. There would be an individual cut off for each discipline of UG course as well as for each college offering that course.

The counselling would be done on the basis of merit list prepared after the announcement of results. The final decision in regards to any issue related to the counseling process would rest with the conducting authority and will be deemed final.

Hi Vaishnavee, as per the Supreme Court ordinance, admission to MBBS Course will be done through NEET exam. You may apply next year for NEET exam.
