IBPS PO 2017 Pre-Exam Training

IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) has issued the pre-exam training call letters for exam to recruit of Probationary Officers (PO)/management trainees (CWE PO/MT-VII) in various public sector banks and other participating organisations. The call letters for PO/MT-VII pre-exam training will be available till September 29. 

  • Pre-exam training for PO/management trainees will be held from September 23 to September 29, 2017.
  • Candidates can download their IBPS PO Pre-exam training admit card via Rgistration No. and Password/DOB.
  • Nodal Banks/Participating Organisations arrange the pre-examination training for limited number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities at some centers.
  • All expenses regarding travelling, boarding, lodging etc. has to be borne by candidate for attending the pre-examination training.

IBPS PO exam is a three phases exam process, where candidates who qualify the Prelims will be eligible to sit for the Mains. Further, the ones who clear the Mains, are called for the Common Interview round. This interview will be conducted by the Participating Organizations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank. Approximately, 2 million candidates take part in IBPS PO examination every year. It is organized by IBPS, through various examination centers across the nation.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2017

The Common Written Exam is an online exam, which will be held in two stages. The first round is the Preliminary stage and the next one is the Main exam. IBPS PO Exam Pattern for both stages is discussed below:

IBPS PO – Preliminary 

This is the first exam that a candidate needs to crack to qualify for IBPS PO Main Exam. 

  • Exam Mode: Online 
  • Time Duration: 1 hour (60 minutes)
  • Sections: 3 sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability
  • Question Type: MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark each
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for wrong answer

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing IBPS PO Cut off to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by candidate, there will be no penalty for that question. Those candidates who clear this stage will able to go at next stage i.e. the Main Exam.

IBPS PO – Main Exam

Candidates qualifying the first paper i.e. Prelims will then have to clear this exam. The scores in this exam will contribute in the final selection or final allotment of a candidate.

  • Time Duration: 2 hour 20 minutes (140 minutes)
  • Sections: 5 sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, General Knowledge and Computer Knowledge
  • Question Type: MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark each
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for wrong answer
