GPAT 2018 Registration and Exam Dates
GPAT 2018 is scheduled on January 20, 2018. GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) is conducted every year by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) for offering admission to M.Pharma program. The minimum eligibility to apply for GPAT 2018 is a B.Pharm (Bachelor’s degree holders in Pharmacy) of minimum 4 years duration.

- Application form can be filled and submitted in online mode only.
- Aspirants can now fill GPAT Application Form till December 15, 2017 at www.aicte-gpat.in.
- GPAT Scores are also used for availing scholarships and financial assistance.
- The admit card for GPAT 2018 will be released on the official website two weeks before the schedule of exam.
GPAT 2018 is a 3-hour entrance examination. The total marks allocated for the exam is 500. The questions will appear on the computer screen. Multiple choice questions will be asked in the examination. The question paper will be published only in English.
- Test is conducted as per the guidelines issued by MHRD every year.
- GPAT Syllabus is based on the undergrduate curriculum published and revised by PCI (Pharmacy Council of India).
- Scores obtained in GPAT is used by all the institutions, departments and colleges approved by AICTE to provide admission to M.Pharm programs.
Candidates can download GPAT Scorecard and Merit List from the official website tentatively after first week of February-2018. There is no centralized counselling process for GPAT and all the successful candidates need to directly apply for admission to colleges accepting GPAT Scores.

GPAT 2018 Official Notification
AICTE has released the official notification for GPAT 2018. The short notification has been released across the all the leading newspapers of the country. GPAT 2018 is scheduled on January 20 with January 21being the reserved day, in case the number of applicants increases. GPAT detailed notification would be released soon on the official website.

GPAT 2018 Exam Dates
Candidates interested in appearing for GPAT 2018 must know all the dates related to the examination so that they can apply for it before the last date. The important exam dates for GPAT 2018 are listed in the table below:

GPAT 2018 Eligibility
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy of minimum 4 years duration. All the aspirants must meet the eligibility guidelines before applying online. The detailed eligibility criteria for GPAT 2018 is mentioned below:
- Only citizens of India can apply for GPAT 2018.
- There is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT.
- The minimum educational qualification that candidates must have is Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma) of 4 years.
- Candidates who have passed or will be appearing in the lateral entry B.Pharma program can also apply for GPAT 2018.
- Students in the final year of B.Pharma are also eligible for applying in the examination.
If candidates satisfy all the eligibility conditions, they should proceed to fill the application form.
GPAT 2018 Application Form
The registration window for GPAT 2018 has opened on the official website. Candidates can register online for the entrance examination upto the third week od December, 2017. GPAT Application Process primarily involves three steps.
In order to fill GPAT 2018 Application Form, candidates must have a valid email ID so that they can register themselves at the official website. Candidates need to carefully fill all the details that are asked in GPAT 2018 application form. Before registration, candidates must keep the following ready with them:
- Personal Details
- Address Details
- Qualification Details
- Email ID
- Contact Number
- Scanned passport size photograph
- Scanned signature
The three steps of online registration for GPAT 2018 are listed below:
Step 1: Self Registration
Candidates need to first register themselves on the official website, www.aicte-gpat.in. Candidates must fill all the required information and click on the submit button. Before clicking on the submit button, you should cross check the information that you have filled on the registration web page. This is because you cannot change or correct the information that you have entered after pressing the submit button. After successful registration, you will receive a login ID and password via email or SMS.
Step2: Payment of application fee
The application fee for candidates under general and OBC category is 1400 INR, whereas the application fee for candidates under SC/ST/PWD category is 700 INR. Candidates can pay the application fee in two modes.
- Online Mode: If candidates opt to pay the application fee in the online mode, they can do it by net banking/credit card/debit card. Once the fee is paid successfully, candidates will get a confirmation via email or SMS.
- Offline Mode: If candidates opt to pay the application fee in the offline mode, they can deposit the application fee through Challan by visiting the nearest branch of SBI.
Step 3: Submitting the application form
After paying the application fee, candidates must login to the official portal by entering their login ID and password. Candidates should fill all the details in the application form carefully. They are also advised to verify all the details furnished by them before submitting the application form.
The size of the scanned signature should not be more than 30KB, whereas the size of the scanned passport size photograph should not be more than 60KB. Candidates must take a printout of the filled application form as it can be needed in future.
GPAT 2018 Admit Card
GPAT 2018 Admit Card will be available on the official website in the 2nd week of January 2018. Candidates who have successfully applied for the examination before the last date can download the admit card from the official website. The steps to download GPAT 2018 admit card is as follows:
- Visit the official website for GPAT, www.aicte-gpat.in.
- Login with your user ID and password.
- Select GPAT 2018 admit card from the menu.
- Enter your application number.
- Press the “submit” button.
- Your GPAT 2018 Admit Card will appear on your computer screen.
- Download the admit card and take a printout of it.
Without admit card, candidates will not be allowed to give the entrance examination. Candidates must check if all the details mentioned on their GPAT 2018 admit card are accurate. Candidates must immediately contact the conducting authority if there is any discrepancy in the admit card. The details that will be mentioned on your GPAT 2018 admit card is as follows:
- Name of candidate
- Roll Number
- Date of birth
- Name of exam center
- Address of exam center
- Date and time of examination
- Instructions for exam
Candidates are advised to read the instructions for exam that will be printed on the back of their admit card. Candidates must carry their admit card to the exam center on the day of examination along with any one document that will authenticate their identity, such as Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, etc.
GPAT 2018 Exam Center
The exam center for GPAT 2018 will be clearly mentioned on the admit card of candidates. There are total 58 GPAT 2018 exam centers spread all over India. Candidates need to report to the exam center at least 30 minutes before the exam starts. Candidates can choose the exam center of their preference while filling the application form. The conducting authority will not change the exam center once it is allotted to candidates.
GPAT 2018 Exam Pattern
GPAT 2018 will be a computer based test (CBT). The examination will not be conducted in the offline mode. Candidates appearing in GPAT 2018 must know the exam pattern so that they can prepare accordingly. You can find the detailed exam pattern of GPAT in the table below:

If candidates do not attempt a question, then there will be no negative marking.

GPAT 2018 Result
GPAT 2018 Result will be announced on the official website tentatively in the second week of February, 2018. After the declaration of results, AICTE will release GPAT 2018 score card. The steps for downloading GPAT 2018 score card is as follows:
- Visit the official website.
- Login by using your user ID and password.
- Click on the link that says “GPAT 2018 score card”. You will be redirected to a page where you can download your score card.
- Enter your roll number.
- Your GPAT 2018 score card will appear on your computer screen. Download the score card and take a printout of it as it will be required during counselling.
AICTE will publish the merit list based on the scores of candidates in GPAT 2018.
GPAT 2018 cut off marks is the minimum marks that candidates have to obtain for qualifying in the entrance examination. It will be set by AICTE depending on the number of candidates who have appeared in the examination and the difficulty level of the examination. Candidates can check the cut off marks to understand if they have qualified in the examination. The cut off marks will be declared during the announcement of results.
Scholarship/ Financial Assistance Through GPAT
GPAT qualified candidates can also avail scholarship through AICTE or CSIR for pursuing further studies and research in the field of pharmacy. GPAT qualified candidates can subsequently register for NIPER JEE to pursue M.Pharma in NIPER, nation’s premier Pharmacy institute. Know More About Financial Assistance Through GPAT
The financial assitance through AICTE can be availed through the institute from where the institute is pursuing M.Pharma. The scholarship is tenable for the period of pursuing postgraduate program. CSIR’s financial assistance (fellowship) on the other hand is available for pursuing integrated 5 year M.Pharma-PhD from AcSIR or any other laboratory of CSIR.
These scholarships are also available for GATE qualified candidates for pursuing M.E/M.Tech/PhD. The fellowship amount through CSIR is INR 25000. The fellowship is however not available for candidates who have qualified SRF (Senior Research Fellowship).
GPAT 2018 Counselling
Candidates will be called for GPAT 2018 Counselling on the basis of their merit list. GPAT 2018 Merit List will specify the roll number of candidates, category, rank, total score and qualified/non-qualified status. Counselling of candidates will be conducted individually by the various AICTE approved institutions. Allotment of seats will be on the basis of scores that candidates have obtained in the entrance examination.

Candidates need to follow the admission procedure of institutions that will be allotted to them on the basis of their GPAT 2018 scores. The notification of admission will be published on the official website. AICTE will then send GPAT 2018 Merit List to the respective state governments for allotting seats to qualified candidates. The participating institutions/colleges of GPAT will then offer admission to candidates on the basis of their GPAT scores.
