GCET 2017 Result & Counselling

GCET 2017 (Goa Common Entrance Test 2017) result has been declared on May 15, 2017. Candidates who appeared for GCET Exam can check their GCET 2017 Result on the official website of GCET. A candidate can even take the print out of his/her GCET 2017 Result for further reference. GCET 2017 Merit List for B.E. (Engineering) is uploaded on the website. A candidate must remember that no individual GCET 2017 Score Card will be issued to any candidate.

How to Check GCET 2017 Result

GCET 2017 Results will be uploaded online on the official website of GCET on May 15, 2017. Check the Results of GCET 2017 online and follow the steps that are mentioned below:

Go to the official website of GCET 2017 on or after the date of declaration of GCET 2017 Results i.e. on May 15, 2017

  • Click on the link provided on the website for the GCET Result
  • A pdf file is opened containing the marks of each subject of GCET 2017
  • In the pdf fine a list is provided where marks of each subject (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology) is given against the registration number of the candidate
  • One can download the pdf file of GCET Result and can even take the print out of the list for further reference

  • GCET 2017 Merit List

GCET 2017 Merit List is displayed online on the official website of GCET. GCET 2017 Merit List of the eligible candidates is prepared in the descending order of the qualifying GCET 2017 marks as mentioned below:

  • The GCET 2017 Merit List is based on aggregate marks scored by the candidate in GCET Exam in the subjects of Physics and Mathematics
  • In case the marks of two or more applicants are equal in physics and mathematics than in such a case applicant with more marks in GCET 2017 Mathematics is placed higher in the GCET 2017 Merit List
  • If it happens that even the marks scored by candidates in Mathematics are also equal, than the applicant with more marks in GCET 2017 Chemistry is given preference and is placed higher in the GCET Merit List
  • In case the marks secured by candidates in Chemistry are also equal, than aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics are evaluated and the applicant having more aggregate marks at the qualifying examination i.e. class 12 is placed higher in the GCET 2017 Merit List
  • If tie this stage still persists, the applicant with more marks in Mathematics at the qualifying examination i.e. class 12 is considered and given preference in the preparation of Merit List of GCET 2017
  • If the case where all the marks secured by the candidate are equal than the applicant with earlier date of birth is placed higher in the order of merit in GCET Merit List
  • For all categories, separate GCET 2017 Provisional Merit List is prepared and displayed

The GCET Provisional MeritLists of all professional courses and categories is displayed on the notice board at the Admission Centre at Directorate of Technical Education as per the schedule of GCET 2017 Admission. GCET 2017 Provisional Merit List is made available on website

  • It is very important that each applicant verify their marks and merit position in the GCET Provisional Merit List. If any candidate finds any error, he/she must inform the Chairman, Admission Committee, in writing within 24 hours, failing which, the Admission Committee is not held responsible for the consequences of such errors
  • GCET 2017 Merit list is displayed at the Admission Centre at Directorate of Technical Education, Goa and on website as per the schedule

GCET 2017 Counselling

GCET 2017 Counselling is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) that starts from June 16, 2017. In order to participate in the GCET 2017 Counselling a candidate has to submit GCET 2017 Application Form-B first of all. The last date to fill GCET 2017 Application Form-B is May 27, 2017. Once GCET Application form-B is filled, GCET 2017 Merit List is published and candidates are called for the first round of admission that starts from June 16, 2017 and ends on June 24, 2017. The second round of GCET Counselling is conducted from July 18, 2017 to July 21, 2017.

GCET 2017 counselling is conducted solely on the basis of GCET 2017 Merit List or rank of the candidate. Candidature of a candidate can be cancelled anytime if any candidate fails to fulfill the GCET 2017 Eligibility and the candidate is banned from GCET Counselling.

GCET 2017 Counselling Process

Given below is the GCET 2017 Counselling Process that a candidate must know:

  • It is very important for every eligible candidate to remain physically present at the time of GCET 2017 Counselling. A candidate must carry along Acknowledgement Card, Documents in original and fees. Admitted Candidates permitted to withdraw submitted original documents for any purpose, have to submit the same to the Admission Committee before the subsequent round of admission. Chairman of the Admission Committee can however relax the above provision in genuine cases
  • Applicants are given the opportunity to select the desired seat out of the available seats, according to his/her merit. The admission is considered complete only after the candidate has deposited all the original documents and GCET 2017 Fees. Applicant granted admission during any round have to report to the respective institution within the time period of 3 working days and obtain acknowledgement thereof, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled. Such candidates may even not be permitted to attend further GCET Admission rounds
  • If in case the applicant fails to show up for GCET 2017 Seat Allotment process, or does not accept admission offered, he/she shall forfeit the claim of seat as per his/her turn in merit position for that round, and the seat is offered to the next person in the GCET 2017 Merit List
  • If any applicant reports late in the GCET 2017 Seat Allotment Process his/her candidature is than considered only for the seats that are left available at that point of time. The list of applicants already admitted remain unchanged and under no circumstances, such candidate can replace the candidates already admitted
  • The list of such candidates who are provisionally admitted, indicating the branch, institution, category, and marks is displayed at the Admission Centre of Directorate of Technical Education, Goa
  • An applicant listed in the GCET 2017 Merit List is eligible for all rounds of GCET 2017 Counselling, irrespective of whether he/she has attended / availed admission in the rounds before or not. If the candidate has taken admission and cancelled the same for any reasons, he/she must forfeit his/her claim for that allotted seat in same/ further rounds of GCET Seat Allotment

GCET 2017 Counselling Documents

A candidate has to carry a certain list of original documents in order to successfully attend the GCET 2017 Counselling. Mentioned below is the list of such documents:

  • Identical photograph to affixed on the GCET 2017 Application Form
  • Proof of candidate’s Date of Birth
  • Class 12th passing certificate
  • 12th class mark sheet
  • 10th class certificate
  • 10th class mark sheet
  • School/college leaving certificate
  • Residence proof Certificate Cast certificate (if applicable)
  • Documents claiming relaxation in the period of residence (if applicable)
  • Acknowledgement slip of GCET 2017 with photograph
  • Students GCET 2017 Admit Card
  • Family Income Certificate (For Tuition Fee Waiver)
  • Certificate of Eligibility from Goa University

GCET 2017 Seat Allotment

GCET 2017 Seat Allotment is done on the basis of candidate’s GCET 2017 Rank in the GCET 2017 Merit list and availability of seats for mentioned branch and college. The Seat Allotment is done after the verification of all the documents in original. At the GCET 2017 Seat Allotment Center, the list of candidates who are admitted provisionally along with details of branch, institution and category is displayed during the whole GCET 2017 Seat Allotment Process.

Mentioned below are some important points regarding GCET 2017 Seat Allotment Process:

  • Due to any reason the seats that remain vacant are filled up in the later rounds, by following the same procedure as in the first round. Candidates must not approach for admissions in between the rounds of GCET 2017 Counselling
  • The seats that remain unclaimed or vacant, from the reserved categories has to get de-reserved and transferred to General Category at the end of admission of reserved category. Claim of the applicants from reserved category, who remained absent during any round, is not accepted for such de-reserved seats
  • A candidate once admitted to a particular seat under any category is not eligible to get admission to the same seat again under same or any other category, in same admission rounds
  • All the candidates belonging to General Category GCET 2017 Merit List, are considered eligible to avail seats under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme. Such candidates have to provide an Income Certificate in specified format together with their GCET 2017 Application Form B stating that his/her parents’ annual total income from all the sources is less than INR 6 lakhs. Candidates who fail to show original Income Certificate during GCET 2017 Admission round, are not considered for seats under AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme
  • All candidates are advised to exercise maximum care and caution while opting for seats during the GCET 2017 Admission Rounds
  • During Second, Third and any other subsequent round GCET Counselling, if any vacancy is created in a particular category or course during the round, is filled in the same round. Candidates interested in applying for such vacancies has to remain present till the end of that admission round.
  • The fees for admission to specific Institution is accepted only in the form of Demand Draft. Candidate have to write his/her name, registration number, college and course to which admitted, on the back side of demand draft
  • All the applicants selected for admission to Engineering are given provisional admission, subject to being found medically fit. The admission of the applicant can get cancelled in case he/she is found medically unfit
  • GOI seats are reserved and allotted by HRD Ministry, Govt. of India, for other States or Union Territories in the institutes of Goa. These supernumerary seats are not available to local candidates even if they remain vacant
