DU B.ED ENTRANCE EXAM 2017 ELIGIBILITY
NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
The faculty of Education, University of Delhi provides an educational course (Bachelor of Education) which is considered as one of the flagship program of the Institute. The candidates of general category with a minimum of 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree or in Master’s degree in any of the following subject: Science or Social Science or Humanities or Commerce are eligible to apply. Moreover, the aspirants who secured at least 55% marks in Bachelor in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics or with any other equivalent degree are eligible to apply.
Marks relaxations for admission to B.Ed program are given to the following categories:

Note: The specific age criteria mentioned for admission to B.d program is not less than 21 years of age.
The foreign candidates who wish to apply for B.Ed courses in the University of Delhi have to show their pass certificates of their last qualifying exam from any of Indian University situated abroad. The foreign candidates are selected on the basis of merit and number of seats available.

The eligibility conditions for B.Ed programme under the University of Delhi are different and determined on the basis several factors. Among them nationality is one of the major factor.
The eligibility for this candidate across the country is determined on the basis of their total percentage of marks secured depending upon their category to which they belong. The candidates who belong to the general category are required to score 50% marks in their graduation or post-graduation level whereas the candidates who belong to OBC or widow or SC/ST and other categories (PwD) are given a relaxation of 5% and 10% respectively from any recognized university in any of the following subject:
The B.Tech candidates need to score at least 55% marks with specialization in science and mathematics.
In case of the foreign candidates they should hold a degree of graduation from any of the Indian University situated abroad. The candidates are further short-listed on the basis of merit and availability of seats.
The candidates who wish to apply for the B.Ed courses must not be less than 21 years of age. There is no such relaxation for any reserved category such as SC/ST or OBC, etc.
All the candidates who wish to apply for the Bachelor of Education whether holding a Bachelor or Master’s degree must not be less than 21 years and more 28 years of age.
Note: For the candidates who wish to apply for the distant B.Ed course under the Delhi University must be aware that there is no such specific age bar mention for applying but they should complete a graduation degree or post-graduation degree from any recognized university.
The eligibility criteria are different for different candidates as per their academic qualification:
Eligibility criteria for General Graduates
Bachelor Degree or other equivalent degree preferably from the Delhi University or other equivalent university with at least 50% marks in any two subjects out of 200 at their graduation level.

The candidate must have to select any one subject from each of the subject category from the following table. The subject chosen by the candidate must be the one in which they should score at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree. This subject will thus be referred as the teaching subject in the B.Ed course.
Candidates are advised to study the table thoroughly highlighting the subject being offered in each of the category:

Note: Candidates applying for the above-marked subject (*) as teaching subjects should have done post graduation in the individual subjects. Candidates who have completed B.Com with 50% marks can choose any subject excluding the subjects in the other subject category.
Previously a candidate can appear for B.Ed entrance many times if failed to crack in the first attempt. However, as per the latest notifications, it is stated that a candidate cannot appear for the B.Ed course under the University of Delhi more than 3 times if fails to crack the entrance in the first attempt.
There are several reservation criteria for B.Ed program that are determined on the following factors:
Reservation of the seats is done in the subsequent pattern:
Scheduled Castes= 15% of total intake.
Scheduled Tribe= 71/2% of total intake.
Other Backward Classes: 27% of total intake.

The seats allocated for SC/ST aspirants shall be acquired by them only. If there is a case of non-availability of the candidates and the seats remain vacant then the seats may be interchanged between the SC and ST itself. Inspite of the former situation if the seat remains vacant then it will be treated as vacant by the authority. The seats allocated for OBC aspirants shall be acquired by OBC only. If the OBC candidates fail to score the minimum eligibility marks then the OBC seats are converted to the General category seats in accordance with the admission schedule notified by the university.
(1% each of the persons those are visually disabled, with hearing impairment conditions and cerebral palsy including dyslexia.) The seats are inter-changed in case of non-availability of the candidates.
As per the regulations endorsed by the Academic Council the admission of the CwC category candidates have to be made in the following series of priorities:
