COMEDK [COMEDK UGET] 2018 RESERVATION

Colleges under COMEDK follow a reservation policy for certain number of seats in Engineering and Architecture colleges for some categories. To be considered for COMEDK Reservation, candidates must clear the entrance exam that will be held on May 13, 2018.
COMEDK Reservation policy comes into play during the Seat Allotment Process. This year, almost 181 engineering and architecture colleges in Karnataka will participate in COMEDK exam for admitting students into undergraduate courses.
Candidates must specify their category while filling the Application Form for COMDK UGET. Once they have entered their category, it cannot be changed after submitting the form. During the counselling procedure, they must produce original documents and the category certificate. The following students can apply for reserved seats in COMEDK.
Candidates can apply for reservation while filling the Application form. They will have to choose between Karnataka or Non-Karnataka Candidate. To be eligible for any reservation under Hyderabad Karnataka Region or religious/linguistic minority, once should be a Karnataka Candidate. He/She must fulfill the following criteria to be considered as a Karnataka Candidate.
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges has its own reservation policy for admission into B.Tech and B.Arch courses. Here are the categories under which reservation is available.
For SC/ST/OBC Candidates
Only Karnataka Candidates are eligible to be considered for reservation in COMEDK colleges under this category. To apply for undergraduate engineering courses, they must have a minimum aggregate of 40% in the class XII qualifying exam. For admission into the undergraduate architecture course, they must have scored 45% in the class XII qualifying exam and at least 80 out of 200 marks in NATA.
OBC Candidates must select their sub-category from amongst CAT 1, CAT 2A, CAT 2B, CAT 3A, CAT 3B as per the rules set by Government of Karnataka.
Karnataka Candidates can claim reservation in COMEDK colleges under Linguistic Minority while filling the application form. This category is for those students who seek admission in institutions declared as linguistic minority. Such candidates must select Tulu-Karnataka in their form. At the time of admission and counselling for COMEDK, they will have to produce their Tulu Minority certificate. Those who don’t belong to Linguistic Minority must select ‘Not Applicable’.
Candidates from Karnataka can also claim reservation under religious minority. While entering the category details in the application form, they must specify whether they belong to Christian Karnataka or Christian Non Karnataka Category. Such candidates can seek admission in institutions declared as Religious Minority. There will be two certificates in the information brochure which the candidates will have to fill and take along with them at the time of counselling. Those who don’t belong to Religious Minority must select ‘Not Applicable’.
Hyderabad Karnataka Region
The last option in the ‘Category’ section of the application form for COMEDK is whether the candidate belongs to Hyderabad Karnataka Region. Click on ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ as per your option. If you click on ‘yes’, proceed to select the area from where you belong. The following options will be displayed:
At the time of counselling, candidates will have to produce a certificate confirming that they belong to the Hyderabad Karnataka Region, issued by the jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner of the corresponding district.
Candidates must have the following documents ready if they are applying for reservation. They will have to take them along at the time of counselling. Failure to produce any of these documents or any inconsistencies in the information provided will lead to the cancellation of their candidature.
Some of the colleges have a few seats reserved for certain categories. If the candidates produce the requisite documents at the time of seat allotment, they will be eligible to claim those seats. Here is a list of the colleges that offer reservation in COMEDK.
The total seats for Architecture Colleges were 483, out of which 433 seats were reserved for General Merit (GM) candidates and 50 seats for HK Region reservation category (HKR). The college wise list of seats reserved is as follows:

The total number of seats in the Tulu Minority colleges was 210. Out of this, 133 seats were for candidates under General Merit, 17 seats were for Hyderabad-Karnataka Region candidates, 60 seats were for Tulu minority candidates. For Christian Minority reservation only one college had the total seats of 144. Out of these, 131 seats were reserved for Christian Minority Candidates, while the rest were for Hyderabad-Karnataka Region candidates. The college which reserves seats for Christian Minority colleges is St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore.
The year 2015 had 16270 the total seats for Engineering Candidates out of which 13959 seats were reserved for General Merit (GM) candidates, 2104 seats for HK Region reservation category (HKR).
