COMEDK UGET 2018
Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental colleges of Karnataka will conduct the COMEDK UGET on May 13, 2018 for admission into undergraduate Engineering courses in the state. The Application Form will be available online from January 16, 2018 onwards. The exam will be conducted in association with UniGAUGE.
It is advisable to check the eligibility criteria for COMEDK before filling the application form. Earlier, students seeking admission into medical and dental colleges in Karnataka would also have to appear for the exam. However, with NEET becoming the national level medical/dental entrance test, COMEDK medical exam has been discontinued.
Now COMEDK includes only engineering and architecture colleges in the state. The exam opens up about 181 colleges and 20,000 seats to the applicants. It is speculated that almost 2 lakh students will appear for the exam this year.

Are you eligible for COMEDK?
Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form. If at any point they are found to be ineligible, their candidature will be cancelled with immediate effect.
For B.Tech aspirants
- Those who are appearing/have qualified 10+2 exam with minimum 45% aggregate in PCM and English. (40% for reserved category candidates of Karnataka)
- Should have passed each subject individually.
- Diploma candidates are not eligible for COMEDK since no lateral entry is allowed in the course.
For B.Arch aspirants
- Those who are appearing/have qualified 10+2 exam with PCM or have a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Governments securing a minimum 50% aggregate marks. (45% for reserved category candidates of Karnataka)
- Should have passed each subject individually.
- Important- B.Arch aspirants do not have to appear for COMEDK exam. However, they must have appeared for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) scoring a minimum of 80 marks out of 200.
COMEDK Application Form
To apply for the exam, candidates will have to fill an online application form available on the official website

Register yourselves on the official website. You will receive your COMEDK login details which you can use for future logins.
Step-2 Filling the Application form
Fill in your details like Name, Parents’ name, Mobile No., Email ID, Category, academic details and preferred form of payment.
Step-3 Uploading Documents
The following documents must be uploaded during the application procedure.
- Candidate’s passport sized Photograph
- Candidate’s Signature
- Signature of Father/Guardian
- Unique ID Proof
Step-4 Payment of Application Fee
The Fee will depend on whether the candidate wishes to appear only for COMEDK or UniGAUGE as well. Payment can be made online via credit/debit card and Net Banking. No offline payment will be accepted. Candidates are advised to check the Application form carefully before remitting the fee since no changes will be entertained thereafter.

The Test Admission Ticket (TAT), i.e., the Admit Card will be available for download from May 04, 2018. It can be downloaded by candidates from the official website by entering their login details. The TAT will include details like the exam center, date and time of exam, candidate’s photo and signature, registration number and general instructions.
The TAT should be downloaded well in advance because, going by last year’s rule, it won’t be available one day before the exam. Entry into the exam center will not be allowed without a hard copy of the Admit Card. The Test Admission Ticket can be downloaded till May 12, 2018 from the official website.
60 questions of one mark each will be asked from each subject. There is no negative marking in the exam. Since the exam is computer based, mock tests will be uploaded on the official website in February. This will help students to get used to the exam format and will give them an idea of how to mark their answers in the test.

- The Chemistry section is usually easy. It focuses on basic theoretical concepts so most of the students can glide through it with ease.
- The Physics section was slightly tricky but if you practice enough sample papers, it won’t be too difficult to score well.
- Mathematics was the toughest section in the paper. It is lengthy with time consuming calculations and thus the most challenging subject in the exam.
- Questions from English were easy and quick to solve.
Provisional Answer Key
A provisional Answer Key will be released on May 17, 2018. Students can challenge the answer key within the stipulated duration by logging into their account and paying a fee of Rs. 500 per question challenged. If the challenge is accepted by the authorities, then the fee will be refunded. The last date for receiving challenges pertaining to Provisional COMEDK Answer Keys is May 21, 2018.

The results of COMEDK will be released on May 28, 2018. Candidates must log in to their account to access the Score card and Rank Card. Counselling and Admission will be done on the basis of candidate’s rank. Candidates can access their score card by logging into their account with their registration no. and password. COMEDK Result will show the following things:

Note- Candidates who applied for both, COMEDK and UniGAUGE, will receive 2 separate score cards since the admission process for both is different.
A Merit List/Rank List will be prepared by the exam authorities. Those who make it to the Rank List will be eligible for centralized counselling. This list will be drawn on the basis of candidate’s performance, exam score, rank and the total number of seats available. Only those students who meet the minimum cutoff will be included in then list. Admission into engineering and architecture colleges will be solely based on this merit list.
COMEDK Counselling and Seat Allotment
A centralized counselling procedure will be carried out to enroll students into COMEDK colleges. The counselling will be conducted in offline mode at a venue decided by the exam authorities, but the registration will be done online. Candidates are required to carry the registration slip and Admit Card (TAT) to the counselling venue. An allotment letter will be provided at the venue after counselling which will have to be produced at the allotted college during the admission process.
For admission into universities that fall under the ERA Foundation, candidates have to apply in individual colleges. There will be no centralized counselling for such colleges. For admission updates, students are advised to keep checking their websites.
