CMAT 2018 ELIGIBILITY
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The application process for AICTE-CMAT began on October 10, 2016. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university in India can apply for CMAT. Candidates appearing in their final year or semester exam can also fill CMAT application form. Apart from the essential academic qualification, a candidate must also be a citizen of India, in order to apply for CMAT.
CMAT 2017 will be conducted on January 28, 2017 and the last date to fill application form is December 10, 2016. The exam is conducted for admission to MBA programs in almost 1000 AICTE approved management institutes. Since the participating institutes will verify the eligibility of the candidate at several stages of selection and admission, an applicant must go through the eligibility details carefully.

The eligibility criteria for CMAT is prescribed by AICTE. Over the years, AICTE has not introduced any significant change in the eligibility criteria for CMAT exam. Although the participating institutes in CMAT may have some additional eligibility criteria, there is a set list of eligibility conditions which each candidate must fulfill in order to appear for CMAT 2017.
The general eligibility criteria may be same but at times CMAT Eligibility Criteria may vary for different management programs being offered. The program-wise eligibility criteria for CMAT 2017 is listed below:
Hence, the reservation of seats in the management programme through CMAT 2017 will be done on the basis of the prevalent statutory provisions of the State Government under which the particular participating institute lies.

For seeking the benefits of CMAT 2017 reservation for allotment of seats under Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Physically Handicapped (PH), Kashmiri Migrant (KM), the girl child category and Defence Persons category, through CMAT 2017, the candidate must submit the required certificates and documents:
Without sufficient documentary proof, no candidate will be given any benefits of reservation of seats through CMAT 2017.
Category once indicated by the candidate at the time of submission of CMAT 2017 Application form, along with documentary proof, will not be changed afterwards in any case. Hence, the candidate must read and understand the conditions of reservation of seats carefully before applying.
Ques. Who is eligible to take the CMAT 2017?
Ans. Candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s Degree Programme (minimum three years of graduation programme) or who have completed their Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution/ university are eligible to apply.
Ques. Can a candidate take the CMAT for practice, even though they are not eligible?
Ans. No candidate will be allowed to take the CMAT without fulfilling the eligibility criteria. Hence, the candidate must make sure they are eligible to apply before taking the CMAT.
