CLAT Result 2018

CLAT Result will be announced by National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) Kochi. For the academic session 2018-19, the results are expected to be released online in the last week of May 2018. Candidates have to visit CLAT Official website i.e. to check the same. 

Listed below are quick facts related to CLAT Results:

  • Enter Registered ID and Password to view the scores.
  • Candidates are granted admission to various NLUs and other private institutes on the basis of CLAT Scores and Merit obtained.
  • The merit list will be released on the same day as of results.
  • The result of CLAT is displayed in the form of marks wherein AIR (All India Rank) will be given to candidates.
  • The AIR is determined on the basis of marks secured in the merit list.
  • An overall merit list will be prepared according to the category of a candidate.
  • In addition, state specific and all India merit lists will be prepared for various categories of applicant like General/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ Women/ SAP (Specially Abled Person) etc.

Important Dates for CLAT Result 2018

How to Check CLAT 2018 Result?

CLAT Result will be published online at National University of Advanced Legal Studies will announce results after the answers are thoroughly evaluated. The results will be in the form of marks that will be converted into AIR later. This year, the results will be announced on May 29, 2018. To check the results follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit CLAT Official website i.e.

Step 2: On the top right CLAT Result tab will be there. Click on it.

Step 3: Now, log in using your User ID and Password


Step 4: After filling the required fields, click on submit button

Step 5: Now you will able to see CLAT 2018 result and Score Card

Step 6: Save and download CLAT Score Card for future processes.

CLAT 2018 Merit List

CLAT merit list will be published by the Common Law Admission Test Committee and NUALS Kochi. The name of the test takers will be listed according to the marks and ranks secured by them in the law entrance examination. The list will be published in pdf format. It will mention the performance of an individual with the state rank. It will also specify a total number of candidates appearing in the exam. Mentioned below are the standards on which a candidate will be shortlisted: 

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of CLAT 2018 merit list
  • In CLAT exam candidate should have scored at least 45% marks for Unreserved/ OBC and PWD category
  • And minimum 40% marks for SC/ST category candidates.

What does CLAT Merit List mention?

Mentioned below are the key details of candidates appearing for law entrance test:

  • Name: Candidate’s Name
  • DOB: It is the date of birth of candidate
  • Merit Number: Number obtained by the candidate in the Merit List
  • Roll Number: It is the roll number allotted to the candidate
  • AIR (All India Rank): It is the rank secured nu candidate at the national level.
  • State Rank: It is the rank secured at the state level.
  • Score: Marks scored by candidate
  • Legal Aptitude Score: It is the marks secured in Legal Aptitude section of law entrance exam.

CLAT 2018 Tie Breaking Standards

There might be a situation, when two or more candidates appearing in CLAT 2018 may score equal marks. In such cases, the tie will be broken in the following procedure and method as devised by CLAT committee:

CLAT 2018 Tie-Breaking for UG:

  • First, the tie will be decided on the basis of marks scored in the legal aptitude section of CLAT. Candidate having a better score will move ahead in the merit list
  • In case the tie is not decided on the basis of first condition then the candidate with higher age will be placed higher on the merit list
  • If both the above-mentioned conditions are not successful in breaking the tie then the decision will be made on the basis of computerised draw.

CLAT 2018 Tie-Breaking for PG:

  • The tie will be first decided on the basis of age. Candidate with higher age will be ranked higher on the merit list
  • In case, the tie is not decided by age criterion then the computerised draw will be used to break the tie.

CLAT Previous Year Cut off

The most important thing in CLAT is that there are no minimum cutoff marks to qualify the exam. The candidature of each candidate is considered in respective category in order of merit. Candidates may check the CLAT previous year cutoff to know about CLAT Expected Cut Off for admissions to 18 NLUs and other institutes accept CLAT scores.
