CDS 2018 RESULT & COUNSELLING
NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
CDS 2018 Results will be available at the official website of UPSC, www.upsc.gov.in. Results for CDS 1 will be available from May 2018 while for CDS 2, it will be announced in February 2019. The result will be displayed in PDF file. The pdf will contain roll numbers of qualified candidates in separate sections for IMA, INA, AFA and OTA. The candidates whose roll numbers are displayed in the CDS 2018 Result list will be called for the further selection process, i.e. CDS SSB. The dates for SSB Interview will be notified later and final result will be out few days after the completion of this 5-days procedure.
The final result is also declared in a Pdf file wherein, selected candidates can find their roll number and names. Candidates are selected finally on the basis of various factors including; qualifying the cut off list, clearing medical examination and number of vacancies available.

CDS 2018 Result will be out in May 2018, i.e. approximately 3 months after the exam is conducted. However, expected result date for CDS 2 is February 2018. To check CDS 2018 Result, candidates just have to visit the ofiicial website of UPSC, the conducting body of the exam.
Students must take a print out of their respective results as they would be needing it at the time of counselling to get admission in the desired colleges.
Chances are that candidates might face the issue ofserver down as there would be many applicants who would be checking their respective results at the same time. This will create massive overload on their server. They can check their results at ease after some hours when the issue is completely resolved.
The marksheet for CDS 2018 will be available on the official website of UPSC, i.e., upsc.gov.in. The availability of marksheet will be at the end of the selection process. The selection of candidates is subject to various criteria. For selection to IMA, INA, AFA and OTA, candidates must qualify the minimum cut off marks set by the governing body, i.e., UPSC. Minimum of 20% score in each section is the basic cut off to qualify for CDS 2018 and an overall score in written exam is around 110 marks. Those who fit in to this range are called for CDS SSB Interview and further scrutinization thus takes place.
IMA (Indian Military Academy) and INA (Indian Naval Academy) cutoffs are expected to remain around 110 while for AFA cutoff score may go up to 140 this year.

Before candidates get into the armed forces, they will have to undergo SSB Interview, to be conducted after the written examination results declaration.
SSB (Services Selection Board) will call candidates for the CDS SSB 2018. Only those who make it to the cut off marks will be shortlisted for this process. SSB evaluates a candidate's suitability and capability for a career in the Indian Armed Forces and other defence services. The SSB interview lasts for 5 days during which, a candidate undergoes various physical and psychological test which determines if a candidate is fit to be an officer.
Apart from SSB interview, candidates who have applied for flying branch in Air Force academy are tested separately. After the test, candidates undergo several medical examinations and once they are clear with these examinations and the training, they are inducted into the armed forces. Selection process is based on the basic quality of leadership which assumes that every leader must have some specific and pre-determined leadership traits.
