CDS admits candidates on the basis of written test results followed by 5-day Psychological and Physical tests in three SSBs across India. UPSC CDS caters more than 200,000 students every session for total seats of around 400 spread across IMA, INA, AFA and OTA. This reduces the success ratio to a meagre 0.2%. Combined Defence Services recruit students for entry-level office cadre posts in the three wings of Indian Armed Forces. However, prior to their posting, they undergo one-year training at respected training academies as per their recruiting wing. Students are asked to choose their preference of Training Academies during their CDS Registration. CDS Cutoff for each Academy varies as per the vacancy available. CDS Cutoff is dependent upon multiple factors which will be discussed later in the article. The Cutoff because of which, is on the rise ever since. Mentioned below is the Cutoff data of last 5 years. We can clearly notice the gradual rise in the cutoff over the years. There was an unusual high rise in the year 2014, when CDS Cutoff for Indian Military Academy rose to an unbelievable score of 99 marks.

CDS Cutoff of every year depends on various factors. These factors all combined finally contribute to the Cutoff and students scoring above the decided cutoff are deemed successful. Students need to score better than the cutoff at every stage.
The commission does not release cutoff details for 5-day SSB. However, final marks are released once the whole process including Written Test, SSB Interview and medical examination is conducted. Here are all the factors which are considered while deciding CDS Cutoff of an year.
The students scoring marks above the decided cutoff will be called for SSB Interview followed by thorough Medical examination of the recommended candidates. The Final call for admission in the training academies will be sent to selected candidates in the month of April-May and the commencement of training program at respective academies will take place in the month of June 2019.
