CAT Participating Institutes- CAT exam will be conducted for admissions to the post graduate management programs offered by Indian Institutes of Management. Apart from IIMs, other top management institutes such as FMS, MDI, NTIE, SP Jain, Department of Management Studies at IITs, Manipal University, ITM Delhi, Chandigarh University and over 115 management B-schools consider CAT score as qualifying criteria for their management programs.
IIM Lucknow is the conducting body for CAT 2018. Once the result is declared, candidates can start applying for colleges based on their choices and cut off. The overall CAT cut off for the IIMs generally, falls in the bracket of 90-99 percentile. Apart from IIMs, other participating B-Schools will also release their own CAT cut offs.
There are 20 IIMs in India and one of them is IIM Jammu which has started its first batch in the year 2016. These institutes are autonomous public business schools that offer various PG diplomas in management. The complete list of all participating IIMs is given below –

IIMs consider a lot of other factors apart from the CAT score in the admission process, such as work experience, marks in class Xth, class XIIth and under graduate degree. CAT Selection Process for IIMs is rigorous and tough. Hence, the candidates who eventually get selected are the best of the best.
The credibility of the IIMs is known over the world and being a part of these institutes definitely adds majorly to a person’s resume. Some of the biggest multinational companies recruit candidates only from these IIMs. Therefore, candidates from every aspect of profession appear for CAT exam, in hope to make it to one of the most coveted B-schools in the country.
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad or IIM-A) is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and was the second IIM to be established, after IIM Calcutta, in 1961.

Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM-I) is located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh in India and was established in 1996. It offers the following academic programmes -
IIM Indore has been ranked 10 in National Institutional Ranking Framework which was published by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, in April 2018.
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) is situated in Joka, Calcutta, West Bengal, India. It was the first Indian Institute of Management to be established in 1961. IIM Calcutta is the only triple accredited business school in India.

Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur (IIM-SBP) is situated in Sambalpur, Odisha, India and was established in 2015. It is mentored by IIM Indore and offers various management programmes. The first batch commenced in 2015 with 48 students.
Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM-N) is located in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India and was set up in 2015. IIM Nagpur offers a two-year Post Graduate Program (PGP), equivalent to an MBA. The batch strength as of now is restricted to 60.
Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIM Vizag) is located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India and started its first batch in 2015. It currently offers a two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management and has batch strength of 60 students.
Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM Amritsar) is located in Amritsar, Punjab, India and was established in the year 2015. It offers a two-year Post-graduate Programme in Management, which is equivalent to an MBA. It is being mentored by IIM Kozhikode and has batch strength of 45.
Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM-BG) is located in Bodh Gaya, Bihar in India and was founded in 2015 as the sixteenth IIM in the country. It is being mentored by IIM Calcutta, which has previously mentored IIM Ranchi as well.
Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIM-S) is located in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh and was set up in 2015. It is being mentored by IIM Lucknow.
Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM-J) is located in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India and is the latest addition to the collection of IIMs. It will start its first batch in August 2016 and is currently mentored by IIM Lucknow.
CAT 2018 will be conducted by Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) for admissions into the post graduate management courses of 20 IIMs and over 100 other B-schools. This year, the number of non-IIM B-schools is expected to rise further more. CAT is the toughest and largest entrance examination held in the country every year.
Over 2 lakh students applied for CAT last year. Every candidate, who is serious about pursuing a career in the field of management, makes it a priority of taking the CAT and its score is accepted by every major B-school in the country.
Apart from 20 IIMs, there are 15 national institutes that will be participating in the CAT 2018 process and the rest of the participants will be private B-schools. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT), FMS and Delhi University are some of the national institutes that will join in the CAT 2018 admission process.
On the other hand, some of the private institutes that will be a part of CAT 2018 consist of MDI Gurgaon, SPJIMR Mumbai and IMT Ghaziabad. The complete list of CAT 2018 Non-IIM Participating Institutes is given below-
CAT 2018 participating institutes will announce their respective cut-offs as soon as CAT Results are declared. The further rounds of selection process will depend on the merit list prepared on the basis of CAT cut-off.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website of CAT i.e. iimcat.ac.in and keep themselves updated with the latest announcements. It is also recommended to frequently visit the websites of the participating institutes to be aware of any notices that they might bring out.
Applicants should especially remember to check the websites of those specific institutes that they wish to apply for on the basis of CAT score. Information regarding form filling, minimum cut-off and selection procedure will be made available on respective websites of the participating institutes.
