Assam Common Entrance Examination 2018

Assam CEE (Assam Common Entrance Examination) is a state level exam conducted by Dibrugarh University, Assam. This exam is scheduled for admission to B.E. courses across colleges in Assam. It is expected to be conducted in June 2018. CEE Assam 2018 enables admission to various Government/Private colleges/institutes of the state of Assam.

The admission is offered by 6 government institutes and 9 private institutions across Assam. The total seats for all branches of engineering is 1700.

Given below is a quick synopsis of the important events related to Assam CEE:

  • The minimum academic qualification required to apply for Assam CEE is Class XII with Science subjects. Only Assamese can apply for the exam
  • Assam CEE Application form has to be filled online from third week of March 2018. Visit to fill the application and register for the exam
  • Keep soft copy of your passport sized photo and signature before filling the application form. The application fee is INR 600 which must be remitted either in online or offline mode.
  • Assam CEE Admit Card will be issued in last week of May 2018 to the applicants on the official website.
  • It is 3-hour duration exam with 120 objective type questions. The questions are divided equally into three sections- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • 4 marks are given for each correct answer while 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Topics from Class XI and Class XII AHSEC Syllabus are included in Assam CEE Syllabus.

Assam CEE Exam Dates 2018

DTE, Assam releases the official dates for the Assam CEE Exam. Given below is the tentative schedule for the exam:

Assam CEE Eligibility 2018

The eligibility conditions to apply for Assam CEE are as follows:

  • Nationality: Candidates must be of Indian citizen.
  • Residential Eligibility: Candidate should be a permanent resident of Assam. He or she must have spent a minimum of 20 years time in Assam state. The children of officers of All India services working in Assam are exempted from the above condition, however, they should study from class 7 to class 12 in schools of Assam recognized by the Assam Board. Candidates, whose parents are transferred out of Assam, are eligible for relaxation during the period for which their parents were living outside.
  • Age: The age of the candidate should be between 17 and 22 years as on December 31, 2018. However, for reserving categories, there is age relaxation.

Academic qualifications

  • Applying candidates must mass class 12th from a recognized board/university. Candidates appearing in class 12 and whose results are awaited can also apply.
  • Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English in class 12.
  • Candidates must obtain 50% marks in class 12 examination (45% for SC and 40% for ST candidates).

Assam CEE Application Form 2018

Assam CEE 2018 Application form will be available from last week of March 2018 onwards. Fill the Assam CEE Application form on the official website of DTE. It should be filled in only after reading the information brochure correctly.

Notifications on Application forms will be released on the local newspapers as well as on the official website of DTE. Given below are the important steps to fill the application for Assam CEE:

Registration and Filling the Form

  • Visit the official website of Dibrugarh University, Assam i.e.
  • Find the link for application form for Assam CEE and click on the link
  • Read the information brochure and instructions carefully before filling the form and click Next
  • Enter the personal, academic and contact details correctly. Make sure you have correct documents to prove the authenticity of the information mentioned.
  • Select your preferred exam center after which you have to upload the required documents.

Uploading Documents

  • Upload the scanned images of your recent photo and signature in JPEG format
  • The maximum size of the image should be 100 Kb.
  • Upload by clicking on Choose File button and selecting the image from the correct location on the computer
  • The dimensions of the photo must be 200 x 230 (width x height) and the size of the signature must be 140 x 60 (width x height)
  • After uploading the documents, submit the application form. Note down the generated application number

Application Fee Payment

  • Assam CEE 2018 Application forms will be considered valid only after deposition of the application fee. 
  • Candidates have to submit the Assam CEE 2018 application fee through online payment (Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Cards) or by offline payments at any branch of State Bank of India.
  • Application fee: Rs. 600
  • For offline payment, candidates will be handed the Bank Challan which should be submitted along with the application form.
  • Payments shall be reflected and updated in the candidate’s profile after 4-5 days of payment.

Assam CEE Admit Card 2018

Only those candidates who have filled and submitted the application form with the application fees will be able to download Assam CEE 2018 admit card from May 25, 2018 onwards. Admit cards will be available only online.

In case of any discrepancies, report in person to get the incorrect information corrected well before the exam date. Here are the steps to download the Assam CEE Admit Card:

  • Find the link to download the admit card and click on it.
  • Enter your application number and password and click on Submit
  • Check the details on the admit card and print multiple copies of the same

Assam CEE Exam Pattern 2018

Assam CEE is organized in offline mode by Dibrugarh University. It is expected to be conducted in June 2018. There are 120 questions in each section of the exam to be solved in 180 minutes. The questions are objective type in nature. Here are few highlights of Assam CEE Exam Pattern:

  • There are questions based on the topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • It is a single window examination to be solved in 3 hours.
  • There 40 MCQs in each section of the exam carrying a total weightage of 480 marks
  • Attempt the exam using only blue/black ball point pen
  • Each question in Assam CEE carries 4 marks.
  • There is negative marking in the exam so you lose 1 mark for every incorrect answer.

Assam CEE 2018 syllabus will be as per the class 12 syllabus of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or NCERT. The whole syllabus for Assam CEE will consist of multiple choice questions on subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates can study these subjects and NCERT textbooks.

Assam CEE 2018 Answer key

The Answer Key of Assam CEE 2018 will be released immediately after completion of the entrance examination. Candidates should compare their answers with that of the answer key. This will give them an idea about their performance in the entrance test. The answer key also helps the candidates to cross-check their answers with the ones given in the answer key. This way, they can calculate their expected marks and evaluate their performance.

The merit list is made strictly on the basis of merit of the Entrance Examination CEE 2018. Candidates can check the Assam CEE 2018 merit list by clicking the given link on the website. On the basis of merit list of Assam CEE 2018, candidates will be selected for Admission.

Assam CEE Result 2018

Assam CEE Result will be declared by Third week of June 2018. Candidates need to check their results online on the official website of Dibrugarh University, Assam. Given below are the steps to check the Assam CEE Result:

  • Visit the site
  • Log in using your application number and password
  • Click on the Assam CEE 2018 Result
  • Enter your Roll number
  • Your result will be displayed on the screen
  • Take a print-out of your result card

Note: The evaluation of the OMR Answer Sheet filled by candidates and the processing of results are done with the help of computer. There is no separate provision for the manual evaluation of the OMR Sheets made by DTE Assam.

Assam CEE Counselling 2018

All short-listed candidates qualifying the Assam CEE 2018 exam will be called for counselling. Candidates must be available on the day of counseling allotted with all the required documents. The seats will be allotted on the basis of the course opted for at the time of filling up the application form. However, this also depends on the availability of seats in various colleges and reserved categories. The documents (both original and self-attested photocopy) that need to be shown are as follows:

  • Part B of Application form
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) (to be issued by D.C./S.D.O.(Civil) of concerning District/Sub-Division)
  • Caste/Category Certificate
  • Class X and XII marksheets
  • Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended
  • Four recent passport-size photographs
  • Counselling fee of INR 500

Candidates must produce all original certificates and testimonials at Assam CEE Counselling. All the documents attached with the form must be self- attested. Reach for the interview in person on the stipulated date

Assam CEE 2017 Admission Fee of INR 7450 has to be paid after verification. The fee can be remitted by reporting at the allotted institute on the same day of Assam CEE counselling.
