AP ICET Results 2017

APICET Result 2017- On the behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE), Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati has released APICET Result on May 15, 2017. AP ICET Result date was postponed by 5 days, earlier, it was supposed to be declared on June 10, 2017.

  • APICET Result is declared in online mode at
  • Candidates can check AP ICET Results by entering Registration Number and Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY).
  • APICET result is displayed in the form of ranks and score card.
  • The percentile rank is determined on the basis of marks secured in all India common merit list.
  • APICET Result 2017 of successful candidates is valid for the academic year 2017-18 only.
  • The scorecard comprises candidate’s name, marks secured in APICET 2017, Percentile Rank, Category, Date of Birth (DOB), APICET Cut Off marks and APICET Status.
  • APICET score card should be downloaded and kept safe for the future correspondence.
  • Candidates securing marks above the APICET cut off will be eligible for AP ICET Counselling.
  • Candidates who have secured 25% qualifying marks in APICET will be assigned the rank in the order of merit on the basis of marks obtained in ICET.

Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati will release the counselling schedule shortly. The process for admission is likely to commence in June 2017.

AP ICET Result Highlights

Candidates must note that AP ICET Result will be available in online mode only. Hence, one should make sure to keep a regular check on the official website of APICET 2017. Post result announcement, AP ICET Scorecards will be issued. The document needs to be carried at the time of counselling. One should make at least 2 copies of the document.

How to Check AP ICET Results 2017?

As the results for the PG programs are declared, candidates who appeared for it can follow the steps mentioned below to check their AP ICET Results.

Step 1: Visit AP ICET official website i.e.

Step 2: Click on ‘View Your Results’ tab.

Step 3: After click on it, the following screen will appear:

Step 4: One will then have to enter their Registration Number, and DOB Entrance Test. Now, click on ‘View Result’ tab.

Step 5: Details of AP ICET Result 2017 such as Name of candidate, Father’s Name, AP ICET 2017 rank and percentile obtained by the candidate, whether they have qualified the exam or not will appear on the screen.

AP ICET 2017 Rank Card  

  • AP ICET 2017 Rank Card is available separately for candidates to download.
  • AP ICET Rank Card has been released on May 26, 2017 at the official website of AP ICET.
  • It contains the details of AP ICET 2017 result of the candidates and is to be submitted during the counselling process and subsequent admission to the MBA/MCA courses offered in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Candidates are informed that the document will not be available via any other means except the online download from AP ICET homepage.

How to Download AP ICET Rank Card?

A rank card is an important document because it is used as a proof of marks and rank during candidate’s admission to MBA and MCA Course. After APICET Results are declared, candidates can download/ print their APICET Rank Card as well. They have to follow the steps given below:

  1. Applicants have to visit the official website. Click on ‘View Your Rank Card’ link.

  1. A new page will open where candidates will download their AP ICET rank card.
  1. Candidates will fill in details such as ‘Hall ticket number’, Registration Number and Date of Birth and then click on ‘View Rank Card’. The page would look like this:

  1. Candidates will again be redirected to a new page where they will be able to download and print their Rank Card and use at the time of admission.
  2. Candidates should take out two copies of the AP ICET 2017 Rank Card on A4 size paper as the AP ICET 2017 Rank Card is an important document that will have to be submitted compulsorily during the counselling process for final seat allocation.

AP ICET Qualifying Score

In order to clear APICET, candidates must have the qualifying percentage of marks which is 25%. That means the applicants must score 50 marks out of the 200 marks total marks, if they want to clear APICET 2017 exam.

In order to secure top ranks, candidates aim for 80% to 90% in the exam. Hence, the students must score between130-150 marks or higher out of 200 in order to be placed within top 10 ranks.

Candidates who belong to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes have no minimum qualifying percentage of marks to clear the exam.

AP ICET 2017 Tie Breaking Procedure

The ranking of the candidate appearing for APICET 2017 is based on their merit marks in APICET. In doing so, it is possible that the score of two or more candidates might end up in a tie. To avoid such a situation, following tie-breaker methods is used:

  • Marks obtained in Section A: Marks of candidates scoring equal marks will be evaluated. It means that candidate who has scored highest marks in Section A of APICET will be ranked higher.
  • Marks in Section B: After the first method, if the tie still persists, then the marks obtained in section B will be evaluated. It means that candidate having more marks in section B will secure a higher rank.
  • Older in Age: If the tie doesn’t break after the above two methods then the age of candidates will be assessed. It would then mean that the candidate who is older in age will receive a higher rank.

Steps for Re-evaluation of Marks Scored in APICET 2017

Though extreme care and caution will be taken into account while calculating marks and preparing the merit list. However, if the candidate still feels they need to get their score re-evaluated, they can do so.

The OMR Sheet of the Candidate who has appeared in APICET 2017 will be preserved for 6 months from the date of announcement of result. This is done to fulfil the request for re-evaluation and checking the marks of the candidate at the time of admission. 

Candidates who wish to get a re-evaluation done have to draw a demand draft of INR 1,000/- in favour of the Convener, APICET – 2017, payable at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on any Nationalized Bank.

Candidates have to submit application for re-evaluation within 15 days after the result is declared. If the request for re-evaluation is sent after 15 days, then it will not be entertained.

Normalization of Scores

The main aim of the normalization is to justify the candidates who got a difficult paper compared to an easier paper. Hence, the task is to rationalize in a best possible sense and rank the candidates based on the global performance. Various national level examination bodies are currently adopting such normalization procedures.

Correspondingly, Committee on normalization has deliberated extensively and decided to use the following normalization procedure:

SMS: (Average + Standard Deviation) of the session to which the candidate belongs to

GMS: (Average + Standard Deviation) of all the candidates across all sessions together

Top Average Global: Average marks of the top 0.1% of all the candidates across all sessions together
