AIIMS MBBS (AIIMS MEDICAL ENTRANCE EXAM) 2018 RESULT & COUNSELLING

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Result has been declared on the official website. The competent authority has released a rank list of candidates on the official website. Candidates can check their roll numbers in the list provided. Once the AIIMS Result is out, candidates can proceed to the AIIMS MBBS Counselling procedure. There, they will be allotted in accordance to their AIIMS MBBS Rank.
The AIIMS Result, Rank List and Merit List can be downloaded from the official website of AIIMS i.e. https://www.aiimsexams.org/. The result of the AIIMS MBBS 2018 will be based the percentile scores of total raw scores. Candidates must note that requests for re-evaluation/ re-checking will not be entertained.

The result will be declared on the official website www.aiimsexams.org. AIIMS MBBS 2018 conducting body will display both rank wise and roll number wise results secured by the candidates. The results of only those candidates who have qualified the exam will be displayed. The results will be put up in a PDF format that will have the candidate’s name, rank and other details. The exam authority will not put up the results of unsuccessful candidates. The individual result can be downloaded by following these few easy steps:
A merit list will be published online by the AIIMS MBBS, New Delhi authority. The Percentile scores for the Total Marks for both shifts as mentioned above would be merged and arranged so as to derive an overall Merit List / Ranking. There are four merit lists that are prepared are as follows:

In case of a tie (identical Total Percentile) the order of deciding higher rank / merit would be: Percentile in Biology, Percentile in Chemistry, Percentile in Physics, Percentile in General Knowledge, elder by age. The overall ranking is based on the percentile scores of the total raw scores. The method applied for breaking ties are:

The normalization of the scores is necessary because there will be two shifts of the entrance exam. The normalization of the score is required for the determination of the merit or ranking to be used during the Counseling for the allotment of seats. The normalization procedure which is applied is based on percentiles, which is a score based on the relative performance of the all the candidates appearing for the exam. The marks obtained by the candidates are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0.
The percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates who have scores equal to or below that particular percentile. The percentile score is calculated to 7 decimal places to avoid any kind of tie and bunching effect.

The cut off score for AIIMS MBBS 2018 will be as decided by the governing body of AIIMS MBBS, New Delhi. Cut-off is the minimum score required by the candidates to appear in the merit list and get short-listed for AIIMS counselling rounds of participating institutions. There are various factors responsible for deciding the cut-off score. It includes the number of candidates that appear for the exam, difficulty level of exam question paper, marking scheme, number of seats available in the institution category wise as also the cut-off marks for the previous academic year.
The minimum cut-off score required for the candidate to qualify for the counseling session is given below:

Since the final score is delivered in terms of percentile score, the normalization of the score will be taken into consideration and then the scores according to the above criterion will be taken as the cut-off score.
AIIMS MBBS Counselling will be conducted at AIIMS, New Delhi after the declaration of the result. The counselling process is set to start from the 1st week of July, 2018. The 2nd and 3rd counselling session will be held in the 1st week of August and September, 2018 respectively. An open counselling session will be held if there are any vacant seats after all the three rounds. It is mandatory for aspirants to attend the counselling at the allotted date and time. If the candidate is not present on the specified day, his candidature will be cancelled. No request for authorized representative by the aspirant will be accepted. A call letter for qualified candidates will be issued by AIIMS MBBS which should be carried to the counselling.
Certain documents should be carried for the counselling round to the centre:
