XAT Exam Centers

XAT Exam Centers are the venues where the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) in January 2018 will be conducted. While filling XAT Application Forma candidate can choose any three preferred exam centers, offered by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI). Around one lakh candidates appear for XAT each year. To accommodate such a large number of test takers, the exam is held in several cities across India and abroad.

Here are some key points about XAT Exam Centres:

  • There is a list of 47 cities where XAT will be conducted.
  • Additionally, there are 2 International XAT Exam Centers, in Dubai and Kathmandu.
  • All candidates appearing for the test must not forget to carry their XAT Admit Card.
  • The conducting authority will not entertain requests for change of exam centres.

XAT is a national level entrance exam conducted by Xavier School of Management, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) - Jamshedpur. XLRI conducts the exam on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). XAT scores are used by more than 100 institutes for admission to MBA, PGDM and other management courses.


XAT Test Centers in India

  • There are 47 cities in India where XAT 2018 will be conducted in the first week of January 2018.
  • Candidates must be clear on the fact that the list given below is based on last year’s test cities.
  • This year, there may be some changes in the number of cities and examination centres. This is solely on the discretion of XLRI and the list of cities can be changed or updated at any time.
  • Candidates are thus advised to check the official XAT website i.e. xatonline.net.in and keep themselves updated on the same.

XAT Test Center Change

In case of a genuine problem, XLRI may consider the request for change of XAT Exam Centre. It is always advisable to be very careful while selecteing your preferred choices. However, in case of a serious issue, you may write to admissions@xatonline.net.in and state your reaosn. The final call will be made by XLRI, which the candidate must adhere to.


XAT Exam Centers Outside India

In addition to the cities mentioned above, XAT 2018 is expected to be held at two more international locations for the ease of NRI and foreign candidates. These cities are as follows:

  • Dubai
  • Kathmandu

Instructions for NRI/Foreign Candidates

Definition as per "Regulation for admission of NRI/Foreign Nationality/Person of Indian Origin", AICTE letter dated 24 April 2002 is as follows:

NRI : "NRI" in this context means Non-Resident Indian as defined in Income Tax Act, 1961 with the following clarifications: An individual is Non-Resident when he is "not a resident" or who is "not ordinarily resident". A person is treated as "not ordinarily resident" when any of the following conditions is satisfied:

  • If he/she has not been resident in India in nine out of ten preceding years; or
  • If he/she has not been in India for a period of 730 days or more during the preceding seven years.

Persons of Indian Origin : "Persons of Indian Origin" (PIO) in this context means a person having foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) without "NRI" status, but who holds a Foreign Passport at the time of sending application, consideration for admission and during the period of his study and he/she or anyone/ both of his/her parents or anyone / both of his /her grandparents is (or was) / are (or were) citizen (s) of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Section 2 (b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No. 57 of 1955).

Foreign National : "Foreign National" (FN) in this context means an individual having citizenship of a foreign country (citizens of all countries other than India) and not having the status of "NRI" and/or "Persons of Indian Origin" (PIO).


How to Choose XAT Exam Center?

Candidates will have the opportunity to choose their preferred XAT test city from the 47 cities in India and 2 international cities. For choosing the test center, they will have to create a profile on the official XAT website and register themselves. The steps to choose their preferred test center are given below:

  1. Candidates will have to first create a profile on the official XAT website i.e. xatonline.net.in
  2. They will then have to log in to their profile with the registered email id and password
  3. Candidates will then have to go to link to fill up the application form online
  4. Candidates will have to select their preferred text center very carefully in XAT Application Form
  5. Candidates will be able to select more than one test center in order of their preference. XLRI will try their best to allot the first preferred test center to all candidates but there may be circumstances where they have to allot another test center to the candidate.

*Candidates must note that they will not be allowed to change their preferred text center under any circumstance. Hence, they must select it very carefully and not make any mistakes in this case.


Instructions for XAT Exam Centers

Candidates seeking admission through XAT must keep the below-mentioned points in mind and follow them as closely as possible:

  • Candidates who are applying for and seeking admission through XAT 2018 will have to choose the test center very carefully. Any request to change the exam centre at a later stage in the registration and application will not be entertained or encouraged by XLRI.
  • Candidates must check the exam centre mentioned on the admit card. They are also advised to visit or check the location of the test center in advance to avoid any last minute confusion.
  • The centres will be allotted on the basis of the preferences made by the candidates on the application form. XLRI will try their best to allot the first preferred test center to all candidates but there may be circumstances where they have to allot another test center to the candidate. This will solely be on the discretion of XLRI.
  • Candidates will have to carry the admit card of XAT to the test center. Without a valid admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the text center or sit for the exam.
  • Examinees must not bring the prohibited items as mentioned on the admit card to the exam  hall.
  • It is advisable to reach XAT Exam Center an hour before the commencement of the exam.
  • Make sure you carry a valid photo if proof along with your admit card for the purpose of verification.
  • Candidates will not be permitted to go outside the exam hall during the conduct of XAT exam.

XAT 2018 Admit Card

  • XAT 2018 Admit Card is expected to release in December 2017
  • Candidates can download their admit card form xatonline.net.in.
  • Details such as Registration Number and DOB and Password will be required to obtain XAT Admit Card.
  • The Admit Card for XAT is a mandatory document to be presented at the exam centres. It must be supported by a valid photo id issued by Government of India.
  • Candidates must check and verify all the details mentioned in XAT Admit Card.
  • Any error, mismatch or discrepancies should be immediately reported to the concerned authority.
