XAT Application Form 2018 will be available in online mode. Candidates have to visit XAT official website i.e.www.xatonline.net.in to fill the form. Registration will be done separately for Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) and Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI).

XAT Application Fee
Payment of application fee is an integral part of XAT Registration. Candidates, irrespective of any category, have to pay the stipulated registration fees of INR 1600 (INR 2000, if you pay late fee). For candidates interested in the programs offered by XLRI, they must pay an additional fee of INR 300 each (INR 500 if you pay late fee).
XAT Application Fee can be paid using following modes of payment:
Payment via Online Mode:
Payment using VISA/ Master - Credit & Debit Cards.
Candidates having IDBI Account can pay through IDBI Net Banking.
The payment for XAT Registration can not be done through American Express Card.
Payment via Cash Mode:
Making payment through cash is considered as an offline mode of payment.
One has to take a print-out of XAT Pay-in-Slip and take it to nearest IDBI bank to make the required payments.
Payment via Demand Draft:
Candidates opting this mode of payment have to prepare a Demand Draft in favour of “XLRI Jamshedpur A/C XAT” payable at Jamshedpur.
Candidates selecting Cash Payment and Demand Draft mode of payment must update the payment details on the registration page. If this process is not followed, then candidates will not be able to upload their signature and photograph.
Candidates paying via Demand Draft must send a copy of ‘Application Confirmation Page’ to the XAT office (XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Circuit House Area – East, Jamshedpur 831001) by 2nd week of December 2017.
Candidates paying through Online Gateway and Cash Payment need not send any copy of confirmation page to XAT office.
Documents Required for XAT Registration
There are few documents and details that must be kept ready at the time of filling XAT Application Form online:
Valid E-mail ID: A valid email ID is important at the time of registration. This is because all the important news and updates related to XAT will be communicated on the registered ID. Also, to log-in on XLRI profile page, every candidate would require the e-mail id.
Scanned copy of candidate’s recent passport size photograph.
Scanned copy of the candidate’s signature.
Important points for Uploading Photograph
Photograph should be a recent passport-size photo in digital format
It should be taken against a light/ white background
The scanned Photo should be in ‘jpeg’ format.
File name of Photograph should be ‘photo.jpeg’.
File size of the same must not be more than 1 MB. If the file size exceeds, it might not get uploaded.
To reduce the size, crop the image of the passport size photograph in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor. Ensure that only the full face portion is cropped and not the entire photograph.
In case the face in the photograph is not clear, the application is liable to be rejected.
Important points for Uploading Signature
Signature of applicant should be on a white paper with a black ink pen (no capital letter)
Scan the signature in 200 DPI (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings
The file size should not be more than 1 MB in ‘jpeg’ format.
File name of Photograph should be ‘sign.jpeg’.
To reduce the size, crop the image of the signature in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor.
Ensure that only the signature portion is cropped and not the entire A4 paper on which you have signed.
How to compress the File Size to 1 MB?
Open the digital or scanned photograph and signature, in MS Paint by right clicking on the photograph/signature.
Press Ctrl + W, a window will open having an option ‘resize by %’.
Here, enter anything between 10% and 50% and save the file with an extension ‘.jpeg’.
Now, check the size of the file in ‘properties’.
If the file size is still higher than 1 MB, follow the same procedure again for resizing till it comes down to 1 MB.
Save the files with the file name as ‘photo.jpeg’ and ‘sign.jpeg’.
How to apply for XAT 2018?
XLRI will release the application forms in August 2017. Visit the official website of XAT 2018 to register themselves for the all India level management exam. Registration for XAT involves primarily six steps as listed below:
Filling of application form
Uploading of images and documents,
Printing of Confirmation page and sending of form.
The step-by-step process of XAT Application Form filling is discussed below:-
Step 1: XAT Registration 2018
Candidates have to visit the official website of XAT i.e. xatonline.net.in and click on ‘Register’
Create a new account providing a valid and active email ID.
On the registered e-mail ID, a unique XAT ID and registration link will be received.
Click on the link to create a password.
These credentials (ID and Password) can be used whenever one wants to login next time.
Step 2: Filling XAT Application Form
After logging in, select the Citizenship i.e. if one is from ‘Indian/ Foreign / NRI’.
For the ones interested in applying for courses in XLRI, select the program from following pool of courses:
Business Management (BM)
Human Resource Management (HRM)
Global Business Management(GBM)
General Management Programme (GMP)
Non-interested candidates in XLRI programs can skip the previous step.
Next, provide the personal details such as Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Category and Phone Number etc.
Candidates will also have to fill their mailing address and permanent address.
Next, fill the educational qualification starting from Class X onwards.
Finally, provide the details of the work experience starting from the latest job. Candidates who want to apply for GMP course must have total work experience of five years until March, 31st 2018.
Applicants should also indicate their preferred XAT Exam Center in the form.
Step 3: Uploading of Documents
In this step, candidates have to upload the scanned copy of their Passport size Photo and Signature.
One must follow the standards set (format, size etc) for both the documents as mentioned above.
Step 4: Application Fee Payment
The payment for XAT can be done through 3 major modes namely online, cash and Demand Draft.
One must follow the guidelines defined by the conducting body to make the payment.
Step 5: Printing of Confirmation Page
After remitting the Application fees, candidates would be able to view the confirmation page.
It is advised to keep a copy of the confirmation page for future references.
Step 6: Sending of XAT Form
Candidates making the payment through Demand Draft must send a copy of confirmation page along with the Demand Draft to the following address:

Note:One must send the copy within 15 days from the date of issuance of demand draft.
XAT 2018 Exam Centre

Ques. In graduation, I have secured less than 50% which is the required eligibility. Can I still apply for XAT 2018?
Ans. Yes, you are eligible and can apply for XAT 2018.
Ques. I am in the final year of my graduation. Am I eligible for applying to XAT 2018 and other XLRI Programmes?
Ans. Yes, you can apply for both XAT and XLRI Programmes. However, you are required to complete your graduation before Jun 2018.
Ques. I am in my final year of graduation and wish to apply for XAT 2018. What percentage of marks should I fill in the application form?
Ans. You have to enter the aggregate percentage of marks obtained till the time of filling the application form of XAT 2018.
Ques. Are the marks of class 10th and 12th board used in the preparation of XAT/ XLRI merit list?
Ans. No they are not used to prepare the merit list.
Ques. How is the academic record used in the selection process?
Ans. The XLRI does not base its selection process on X, XII or graduation marks. The candidates academic competence will be evaluated by XLRI based on candidate’s performance in interview, group discussion, and XAT written test.
Ques. I don’t have work experience but have done internship/ articleship. Do they count as my work experience?
Ans. No they will not be counted as your work experience.
Ques. I have some work experience before my graduation. Will that be counted as work experience?
Ans. No, any work experience before graduation will not be counted as work experience.
Ques. How can I check my photo and signature before my admit card is generated?
Ans. After your registration process is complete and once you have made the payments, you will be able to download the confirmation page and there you can check your photograph and signature.
Ques. I was paying the XAT 2018 application fees through Online gateway from a credit card and after the payment, I am unable to see the final confirmation. The system is not able to give a reference no. and I can see the message ‘Page Expired’ even though the bank has confirmed the debit. What do I do?
Ans. This could be a system error which would normally resolve by 1 pm the next day. Candidate must check their id. You should be receiving a message for successful payment. If the message is not received with 24-48 hours, then send an e-mail to email@example.com. Don’t make a second payment immediately.
Ques. I think I have accidentally paid twice using online option. What do I do now?
Ans. Don’t worry, just send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your XAT ID, date of payment, card holder name and credit/debit card details (first four and last four digits and card expiry date). Your request will be handled.
Ques. I lost my XAT pay-in-slip, where can I obtain another one?
Ans. Go to the IDBI Bank Branch where you paid the fees with the copy of confirmation page and request them to give you a photocopy of the pay-in-slip and put copy along with bank’s original seal and signature on it. Be careful of the slip this time!
Ques. I am having problems in making payments through online gateway. What should I do?
Ans. An internet payment is bound to be interfered with system or network problems. It is advised to make cash payments for paying the registration fees.
Ques. I forgot my XAT password and can’t login.
Ans. Click on ‘Forgot Password’ and follow the procedure and you can then generate a new password.
Ques. When can I check & confirm if XLRI Office has received my XLRI confirmation page?
Ans. XLRI office on receiving of the XLRI Registration Confirmation Page will verify from the bank and update the details on a first come first served basis. Candidates have to log in through their XAT id to check if their form has been received or not.
Ques. I have sent the XLRI Confirmation Page through courier/speed post and have been informed that my envelope has been delivered but I do not see a confirmation receipt after logging in.
Ans. It could take a few days for XLRI Office to verify the documents and update. Kindly log in after a few days.
