XAT 2017 Analysis and Cutoff
XAT 2017 concluded successfully on January 08, 2017 by XLRI. It was conducted on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). It was held in 47 cities across India and 2 international cities. Around 92, 000 candidates participated in the exam of XAT.
XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is held for admission to post graduate management courses offered at St. Xavier's College. XAT exam is an offline test and consists of 2 papers. Paper 1 is objective type and has questions from Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Logical reasoning, and Decision Making. Paper 2 has both objective and subjective questions from General Knowledge and Essay Writing.
XAT 2017 Results will be declared by the end of January 2017. On the basis of XAT Score, more than 100 institutes will provide MBA admissions. Check Selection Process of XAT 2017

Is XAT online or offline?
- XAT is conducted in offline mode.
- There are 2 papers- Paper-1 is Objective and Paper-2 is Subjective.
- Paper 1 consists of 4 sections namely Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Logical Reasoning and Decision Making.
- Paper 2 contains subjective questions on General Knowledge and Essay Writing.
XAT 2017 Exam Dates

XAT 2017 Results
XAT results are expected to be declared by the last week of January 2017. Candidates can view result of XAT as well as download their XAT 2017 scorecard from the official website of XAT. XAT Result will be published in form of Score Cards at the official website. The Score card is prepared solely based on the performance of candidates in XAT 2017 Exam. Following the Result of XAT 2017, institutes that the candidates have applied for willl call the shortlisted candidates for next level of selection process. The Selection process Rounds include Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
After the Result declaration, the institutes release their requisite cutoff and all the registered candidates with XAT Scores above the mentioned cutoff are called for the selection process.
XAT 2017 Cutoff
XAT Cutoff varies for different programs offered by different institutes. The cutoff for XAT 2017 would include the minimum percentile to be scored by each candidate in XAT 2017. On the basis of XAT cutoff, candidates will be shortlisted for further GD, PI and essay writing round. The XAT 2017 Cutoff for different sections is mentioned below.

XAT 2017 Selection Criteria
Candidates will be shortlisted for GDPI on the basis of their performance and XAT cut off. Both GD (group discussion) and Personal Interview explained below.
The groups are divided into groups of 8-15 participating candidates. All the groups are required to discuss on a topic usually for 15-20. Minutes. The topics for XLRI GD would consist of topics related to current affairs, politics, social issues such as women’s rights and emancipation, or any other issue concerning advertising, technology, education or business in India.
Candidates are required to appear for the personal interview if they get shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Group Discussion. The questions in the Personal Interview round are centered aroundcandidates’ background, academics, achievements and motivation behind going for an MBA. The panel of jury members set up for this round aim to determine the communication skills, confidence and ability to think under pressure among the candidates.
The score for the final selection of the candidates would be calculated by assigning weight to different components such as XAT 2017 score, GD, PI, Essay Writing, Previous academic records, work experience, and overall profile of the candidate. The weight for these different components in XLRI is provided in the table below. It applies over all the programs offered by XLRI.

XLRI also reserves the right to change the weightage assigned for each component after analyzing GD/PI data for a particular year.
There is no centralized counselling process and candidates will have to individually apply for each Member Institutes of XAMI with their XAT 2017 score. Candidates will be admitted to these institutes on the basis of XAT cutoff, scores obtained in the GD/PI round and the final merit list prepared for all the successful candidates.
XAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for XAT 2017 should carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling in the XAT Application Form. The Eligibility criteria of XAT requires the candidates to meet the criteria:
- Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent from a recognised authority in any discipline.
- Those appearing in the final year examination of their graduation degree in June, 2017 are also eligible to apply for the examination.
- There are no minimum aggregate marks criteria for appearing in XAT 2017.
- NRI and Foreign Candidates are also eligible to apply on the basis of the GMAT Score card (except Dubai and Kathmandu candidates).
Hidden Age Limit: However candidates with any age limit can attempt XAT 2017 but one should have completed 3 years Bachelors Degree. Candidates who did graduation in 80’s with 2-year bachelors degree are not eligible. Since XAT requires 3 years Bachelors Degree for minimum Qualification.
Note: Besides, fulfilling the above-mentioned criteria, candidates are also required to fulfill individual institute wise criteria for admissions.
There are no prescribed reservation criteria for XAT 2017. Seats will be reserved for different categories as per the norms and regulations of the admitting institutions.
XAT 2017 Application Process
The XAT 2017 Application Process is over. However, the last date to submit filled Application with late fee is December 11, 2016. The Application primarily involves six steps - Registration, filling of application form, uploading of images and documents, payment process, printing of confirmation page and submission of the form. The Application Fee for XAT 2017 is INR 1600 for general candidates. The Late fee to be paid till December 11, 2016 is INR 400 (Total XAT 2017 Application Fee becomes INR 2000). The cost of Application Per Course in XLRI is INR 300 and the final fee including late fee per course in XLRI is INR 500.

XAT 2017 Admit Card
XAT Admit cardwill be available at official website of XAT 2017 from December 20, 2016. The Admit Card for XAT can be retrieved through online mode only. XLRI will not send the XAT Admit card via email or courier to any candidates. Admit Card is a mandatory document that must be preserved till the admission process. Admit Card must all time be supported with a valid photo id issued by the government of India.

XAT 2017 Exam Pattern
XAT 2017 is an offline or Pen and Paper Based Test. The XAT Question paperwill be set in the English Language. In total, there will be 78 questions in Part A and 25 questions in Part B. Part A contains 3 sections – Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation while Part B contains questions on General Knowledge and an essay.

The total duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Additional time will be provided for attempting the Essay portion. 1 mark will be awarded for every correct response. In Part A, 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response while 0.05 marks will be deducted in case candidates doesn’t attempt more than 13 questions. There is no negative marking for Part B of the XAT 2017 Exam.

XAT 2017 Syllabus
Paper 1: XAT Paper 1 consists of objective type questions based on English Language, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Decision Making. Paper 1 of XAT is allotted 3 hours for these multiple choice questions.
Paper 2: XAT Paper 2 consists of general awareness questions. Unlike the previous paper, Paper 2 is a subjective paper. There will be a total of 30 questions with half an hour of time allotted to this paper. This paper generally includes twosections namely General Awareness and Essay writing. There is no negative marking in thissection.
