WBJEE 2017 PATTERN & SYLLABUS
STATE LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The WBJEE 2017 Exam Date is on April 23, 2017. WBJEE 2017 will test candidates in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Maths. West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam 2017 is conducted for the admissions in undergraduate courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture streams in the universities, government colleges and self-financed institutes of West Bengal. Last year more than 1.5 Lac candidates appeared for WBJEE.

WBJEE 2017 will held on April 23, 2017. For admission in any course, the exam will held on the same day. WBJEE 2017 will be conducted offline. The mode of WBJEE 2017 is English medium. Biology section test will be held in morning session and then Physics + Chemistry & Mathematics subject tests will be held. Given below table is the exam duration-

WBJEE 2017 is conducted by 3 types of examinees. An applicant can choose his/her type of examinee while filling up the WBJEE 2017 Application Form. The 3 types of examinees are listed below:
|E||Mathematics, Physics + Chemistry||This type of examinee is for the applicants seeking admission in B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. Courses or in Pharmacy Course in Jadavpur University|
|M||Biological Sciences, Physics + Chemistry||This type of examinee is for admission in Medical and Dental courses|
|C||Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Physics + Chemistry||For admission in B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. Courses or Medical/ Dental Courses or in Pharmacy Course in Jadavpur University|
Marking scheme in WBJEE 2017 varies according to the category of the questions divided. There are 3 Categories of questions in WBJEE. Questions in Category 1 carries 1 mark each while questions in other 2 Categories carry 2 marks each. Wrong marked options will deduct ¼ & ½ marks from Category 1 & Category 2 respectively. There is no negative marking for Category 3 questions.
CHECK WBJEE Question Papers
WBJEE 2017 is an offline exam in which Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are asked. The exam is held in only English medium. MCQs have 4 options, out of which only 1 (category 1 & 2) is the correct answer. In category 2, multiple choices may be the correct answer. A candidate can use only blue/ black ballpoint pen on the given OMR answer sheet. There should be no other sign or word written on the OMR sheet other than that is asked about. The questions are based on the given WBJEE syllabus.
The WBJEE 2017 Question Paper is based on 4 subjects and all the questions in each paper are divided into three categories. The WBJEE 2017 marking scheme for each subject is therefore properly segregated into 3 categories. Questions asked in each category carries different marks. The table mentioned below simplifies the division of marks in each subject as per their category.
Biological Sciences has 115 questions in total from three different categories. The Physics and Chemistry paper will have a total of 80 questions while Mathematics paper will have 75 questions in total from 3 different categories.

WBJEE 2017 is an offline exam and the answers to be marked on provided OMR sheet only. A candidate can use only blue/black ball point pen on the OMR answer sheet. A candidate must bring his/her own writing material. The bubble in OMR sheet against correct option should be properly filled. Other important information on OMR is to be correctly filled by the candidate. A candidate should mark the answer according to the mentioned instructions only. It is important for all candidates to write the "Question Booklet No." at the mentioned places both on the OMR Answer Sheet and Attendance Sheet during WBJEE 2017 else the OMR Answer sheet of the concerned subject will be cancelled.

Question Category 1: 4 options are given against every question. Out of which only 1 option is the correct answer. Each correct answer carries 1 mark. Each incorrect answer will deduct ¼ marks. If a candidate bubbles more than 1 option, then that answer will be considered incorrect and will result in deduction of ¼ marks.
Question Category 2: Each question carries 4 options and only 1 option will be correct. The correct marked option will fetch you 2 marks and incorrect answer will deduct ½ marks. For any combination of more than single option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and yields to -½ (negative ½) marks.
Question Category 3: There will be 4 options to every question asked. 1 or more options are correct in this section. Marking all the correct options will fetch you 2 marks. For any combination of answers having 1 or more incorrect options, will be treated as incorrect and it is worth of zero mark. In case the answer is partially correct i.e. when all correct options are not marked but also no incorrect option is marked, marks awarded will be equal to 2 x (number of correct options marked) / (total no of actually correct options).
Results for WBJEE 2017 will be declared in the later week of July 2017. However, announcements for the same will be made through various electronic and print media before the declaration of WBJEE Results.
In WBJEE 2017, 3 separate merit lists will be prepared for Engineering, Medical and Pharmacy. The merit list for successful candidates of different courses is prepared in descending order of the total marks scored by the candidates in the requisite subjects.
