VITEEE ResultS 2017 will only state the rank attained by candidates. To find the rank of the candidate, the university does not use the traditional cut off method. Instead, the equating methodology is used. This is a statistical method for fair comparison of rank and deciding merit. Therefore, VIT university will define the percentile rank of the candidates such as scores on different forms of the test with same percentile rank to be equivalent or equi-percentile. On the basis of the allocated VITEEE percentile rank, candidates will be called for VITEEE counselling rounds.
Following VITEEE 2017, a candidate’s performance will be analyzed by the scores calculated through the use of an answer key. The answer key can be checked on the official website. The official answer key will be uploaded on VIT university website for students to access their scores. Candidates can get the link to the answer key on the index or home page. They have to choose the set code, paper code and download the answer key. Answer key is provided in PDF format and uploaded set wise for each year.

An important point to note here is that as the number of students called is always more than the number seats for admission, getting a call for counselling does not guarantee a candidate his/her admission. In total there are 4540 seats, 3420 in the Vellore campus and 1120 in the Chennai campus. In 2015, around 1, 84,483 students appeared for 4540 seats offered under VITEEE.

Details of various branches offered under the B.Tech Programme in the current year, total number of seats allocated for each branch will be displayed at the counselling centers to enable the candidate make his/her choice.
This transparency in the admission process is ensured through the online mode of communication where the process is conducted through video-conferencing. The screen at the counselling centers for seat availability in the subject streams in both the campuses is a common one and the candidates in both the campuses are able to view it.
Selected candidates are required to submit a demand draft of INR 50,000 drawn in favour of VIT University payable at Vellore on the confirmation of seat and branch chosen. Without the said advance draft made, the candidates will not be permitted to attend the counselling.
