UPTET Application Form

UPTET Application Form is expected to release in October 2017. It will be released online by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) at its official website i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in. Candidates who fulfill UPTET Eligibility can visit the official website of UPTET to register themselves.

Filling up of UPTET Application Form will involve 3 main steps viz.

  • Registration- In the first step, aspirants will be required to register for the test by filling up their personal and academic details.
  • Fee Payment- Aspirants must pay the requisite fees of INR 400 (INR 200 for SC/ ST category) in either online or offline mode.
  • Upload Documents- Here, aspirants will be required to upload their Photograph and Signature.

Candidates who successfully complete the registration process will appear for UPTET in January 2018. The test is conducted for recruiting primary school teachers (Classes 1 to 8) in Uttar Pradesh.

UPTET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for UPTET is laid down by UPBEB. Applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements before applying for the entrance test. The various criteria for appearing in UPTET are as stated below:

Age Limit

  • The lower age limit to be eligible for UPTET is 18 years.
  • The upper age limit is 35 years.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have the following academic qualifications or should be appearing in the final examination to be eligible for the entrance exam:

  1. Qualification for Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)-
  • A degree in D.Ed. NTT, BTC, 2 years BTC Urdu, graduate degree or minimum a bachelor degree in elementary education from any UGC recognized university/ institute or affiliated to NCTE/ RCI.
  1. Qualification of Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)-
  • A Bachelor’s degree along with D.Ed. securing at least 45% marks
  • A degree in B.Ed. securing an aggregate of 50% marks or appearing for the final examination of the same
  • A 4 year special education diploma with 50% marks from an authorised college/institute.

How to fill UPTET Application Form?

UPTET Application Forms will be available from October 2017 onwards on the official website. Participants must note that application forms can be submitted only through the online mode. Only those aspirants who apply for the test by paying the requisite application fees can appear for the test.

Here are the pre-requisites for filling UPTET Application Form:

  • Valid mobile number and email address
  • Class 10th Mark sheet and class 12th Mark sheet
  • Mark sheets for all the semesters of Graduation/ Qualifying exam Degree
  • Scanned images of Photograph of applicant

UPTET 2017 Registration comprises of 4 main steps. They have been described below:

Step 1: Registration

  1. Log on to the official website i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in
  2. Click on the link ‘Apply for UPTET 2017’ to begin the online registration process.
  3. UPTET application form will appear on the computer screen. Individuals will have to enter personal details (name, gender, date of birth, religion, category, etc.), qualification details and communication details (address, mobile number and email ID).
  4. Participants will also be required to provide a valid email address and a mobile number for the purpose of registration.
  5. They must choose the type of photo identity proof that they will carry to the exam center.
  6. They can then verify the information mentioned in the application form and can alter it in case of any mismatch or discrepancy.
  7. They will be allotted a registration number upon submission of this application form.

Step 2: Upload Images

  1. Applicants must upload scanned image of their recent, passport sized photograph.
  2. The format and resolution of the scanned copy of photograph will be as given on the form.
  3. Aspirants can click on ‘Preview’ to view the photograph uploaded and can confirm it once they are satisfied with quality of images.

Step 3: Payment of fees

  1. Each applicant must pay the non-refundable application fees to apply for  UPTET. The fees can be paid through both online and offline mode.
  2. Individuals can pay the fees using SBI Debit/ Credit card or Internet Banking.
  3. They must enter their registration number, category and date of birth. Fill up the required payment details on the bank page, save the receipt of transaction and print it out.
  4. Aspirants can also pay the fees by downloading the SBI e-Challan and rendering the fees at any of the bank’s branch. They must submit this e-challan on the next day of generating it.
  5. After completing all the above steps, a confirmation page will be generated. Individuals must take a print out of this page for future correspondence.

UPTET Application Form FAQs

Question 1. After submission of application, am I permitted to make any alterations in the information provided in the application form?

Ans. Yes. The application forms will be open for correction and the notification for the same will be uploaded on the website. They will be able to correct the details during this time. Aspirants are must remember to print out the confirmation page of the modified application form.

Question 2. Final result/ Mark sheet of qualifying examination is not available due to delay in publication of result. Is such a candidate eligible for UPTET 2017?

Ans. Yes. Candidates awaiting their result are eligible for the exam provided they can submit the mark sheet at reporting center at the time of recruitment.

Question 3. I selected OBC category by mistake and during the application correction I changed it back to my original category of SC. Will the fees I paid for the wrong category returned and a request for refund be generated?

Ans. NO, the application fees once paid are non transferable and non refundable. It will not be refunded under any situation whatsoever.

Question 4. Will the candidates be required to send the hard copy of the application form and necessary documents by post to the organizing body?

Ans. NO. Aspirants will not be required to send a hard copy of the application form or any other documents to the organizing body by post.

Question 5. Can multiple forms be submitted and the fees for one form be adjusted to the other?

Ans. Multiple forms cannot be submitted under any unavoidable situation. Aspirants can login and make changes if any to their application during the correction window.

Question 6. How to retrieve Registration/ Application Number or Password?

Ans. Aspirants will be allotted an application number for UPTET 2017 during the registration and application process. This number will be depicted on the confirmation page. Candidates will have to choose a password for their login account. If any individual forgets his password, then the steps involved in retrieving it are given below:

  1. Go to the UPTET applicant’s login page and enter their registered email ID.
  2. Click on ‘Forgot Password’.
  3. Aspirants will be required to enter their date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format used for registration.
  4. Click on ‘Submit’.
  5. They will be redirected to a page where they can regenerate a new password as they wish.

Question 7. Why do I have to choose a type of original photo identity proof?

Ans. Applicants will have to choose a type of photo- identity proof during registration so as to carry the same at the exam center for verification.
