UPTET 2017 Exam Dates, Application Form and Eligibility

UPTET will be conducted in month of July, 2017 across 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The exam will be conducted in 2 shifts. UPTET 2017 is a state level exam conducted by UPBEB for recruiting primary school teachers (Classes 1 to 8) in Uttar Pradesh. UPTET Exam was conducted in offline mode. It consists of 2 papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. It is an objective (multiple choice questions) test. 

Latest Update On March 20, 2017: UPTET 2016 Results are declared on UPTET Website. 

The selection of candidates is based on marks secured by them in UPTET Exam. The scores of the candidates will be made available on the official website after the declaration of UPTET Result.


UPTET 2017 Exam Dates

UPBEB will release the UPTET notification in coming days. UPTET 2017 will be schedued to be held in Month of July, 2017. UPTET exam dates are provided in the following table:

UPTET 2017 Eligibility

Candidates who fulfil the UPTET eligibility(minimum of 50% marks in intermediate) can apply for UP TET exam. Candidates’ age must be between 18 Years and 35 Years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories would be given age relaxation as per the norms. Given below is the UPTET qualification for UPTET aspirants-  

UPTET Qualification of Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)

  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC/ passed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in final year of D.Ed (Specialization) in an institute recognized by RCI
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC (Urdu)/ passed in a institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are in final year/ passed Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are Moallim-e-Urdu degree holders from Aligarh Muslim University before August 11, 1997. (For Urdu Teaching)
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year B.EL.ED

UPTET Qualification of Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)

  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of L.T. in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed (Specialization) in an institute affiliated to RCI
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.Ed
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.S.C.Ed
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.EL.ED

UPTET 2017 Application Fee

Payment of UPTET Application Fees can only be done either on the day of registration or the next working day. Bank charges are included in the Application Fee.Candidates can select any 1 of the UPTET payment method- SBI Internet Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/internet banking facility of other banks or SBI Branch for e-challan for cash payment at any SBI Branch.

UPTET 2017 Application Form

UPTET Registration Process will starts from the month of April, 2017. It was done in online mode. It was 4 step process:

  • Online Registration
  • Payment of Fees
  • Uploading of Documents
  • Printing of Application Form

 After final submission, a computer generated registration and password would be shown on the screen. It should be noted and preserved for future correspondence.

Payment of fees is done after UPTET Registration. UPTET Fees has to be paid either by generating e-challan through SBI or SBI Internet Banking/Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/internet banking facility of other banks. Take print out of e-challan (for offline mode of payment).

After the payment of UPTET Fees, complete the TET Online Form and mention the Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Transaction ID/Journal Number (provided by bank) and submit the UPTET Form. Take the print of the completed UPTET Online Application Form and keep it safe for the future use.  


UPTET 2017 Exam Centers

UPTET exam  was conducted in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh (UP). Candidates had to provide their choice of exam center along with their respective codes at the time of UPTET Online Registration. Only 1 exam center was to chosen while filling the UPTET Online Form. Uttar Pradesh Examination Regulation Authority, Allahabad, reserves the final right to allocate any other exam center from the one selected by the candidate in the UPTET Application Form.


UPTET 2017 Admit Card 

UPTET Admit Card will issue by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board. UP TET Admit Card have to be downloaded from the official website of UPTET in the month of June, 2017 onwards.

UP TET Admit Card would contain details regarding the UPTET paper (Paper 1, Paper 2, Both), language of paper, exam center, date & time slot of exam, roll number and photo of the candidate. The details mentioned on the UP TET Admit Card should be carefully verified. In case of any discrepency  observed in the UP TET Admit Card, candidates should immediately contact the official authority. Candidates’ photo should be clearly visible on the UP TET admit card.

How to Download UP TET 2017 Admit Card?

  • Visit the official website of UPTET
  • Click on UP TET 2017 Admit Card link
  • Provide all the necessary details- UPTET Registration Number and Date of Birth
  • Click on Submit
  • UP TET Admit Card would appear on the screen, take its print out

Note: Those candidates who don’t receive their UPTET Admit Card, can contact the UPTET Helpline or check their names in the Rejected Candidates List.


UPTET 2017 Exam Pattern

UPTET exam will be conducted in offline mode. UPTET Exam consisted of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers are of objective type (MCQs). Paper 1 will be held for the candidates who applied for class 1 to 5 group while Paper 2 will be held for the candidates who applied for class 6 to 8 group.

Candidates who apply for both the Papers, will have to be appeared for both Papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The level of questions vary according to the group, the candidate has applied for. There is no provision of negative marking in UPTET. Both the Papers have 150 questions. All the question carry 1 mark. Every question carries 4 options, out of which only 1 would be correct.

UPTET 2017 Result

UPTET Result is expected to be declared in the month of October, 2017. The official notification  for UPTET Result would be published in the newspaper. The result would be announced on the UPTET Website. Candidate can check their result by logging in with their roll number. The official UPTET Answer Key will release in September, 2017. The steps the check UPTET Result are given below:

  • Visit the official UPTET website
  • Click on UPTET Result link
  • Enter the UPTET roll number
  • View the scores and save it for future use

Candidates can get the copy of their UPTET OMR Sheet/Answer Sheet by paying INR 500 per copy. The payment must be made by DD which should be drawn in favor of Secretary, Examination Controller Officer, Allahabad.

UPTET 2017 Selection Process

Candidates who score 60% (90/150 marks) of the total marks would be considered qualified for UPTET Recruitment. However, the reserved category candidates are required to score only 55% marks (82/150 marks) to qualify in UPTET. Candidates who qualify UPTET, would be would be UPTET eligibility certificate.  

UPTET Eligibility Certificate

UPTET Eligibility Certificate is valid for 5 years. Eligibility Certificate can be taken from the district education board by providing a copy of UPTET Admit Card and Photo Identity Card. There is no fixed number of attempts in UPTET.

Candidates who want to acquire second copy of the UPTET Eligibility Certificate, can avail by paying fees of INR 300 through DD (Demand Draft) payable at Secretary, Examination Controller Officer, Uttar Pradesh, 23 Allenganj, Allahabad.   

A candidate has to submit copies of the following documents to retrieve the second copy of UPTET Eligibility Certificate:

  • Class X mark-sheet
  • UPTET Admit Card
  • Caste Certificate
  • PH Certificate
  • Advertisement of lost Eligibility Certificate in Newspaper
  • FIR Copy of lost UPTET Eligibility Certificate

The candidates who qualify in UPTET, and want to apply for the teaching post in UP can apply by providing the eligibility certificate.
