UPTET 2017 Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility

 

UPTET is organized for recruitment of Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) is its conducting body and is responsible for the entire examination and recruitment process. Read UPTET In Hindi

Over 5 lakh candidates register for UPTET each year. Last year, about 2,37,620 candidates appeared for the exam, out of which 87,353 managed to pass it. Check UPTET 2017 Paper

Here are some important points to note for UPTET 2017:

  • UPBEB released UPTET Notification on its website. Check  UPTET Exam Dates
  • As per UPTET Eligibility, it is important to secure minimum 50% marks in graduation or 4 years diploma in special education to apply for the exam.
  • Candidates can fill UPTET Application Form from October until November 2017.
  • All candidates who register successfully will appear for UPTET 2017 in December 2017. The exam is conducted in offline mode.

  1. According to a recent notification, the registration for UPTET 2017 will begin from August 25, 2017. NIC is yet to approve the same. More than 10 lakh candidates are expected to register this year. Check Here
  1. There is a ray of hope for nearly 66,000 Shiksha Mitras of UP who were appointed for children aged between 6 to 14 years. The Supreme Court on July 25 said that “right to education was a right to quality education”, rejecting its earlier idea of canceling the appointment of 1.78 lakh teachers in UP Junior Schools. It also said that “consideration for the career of 1.78 lakh Shiksha Mitras, over and above their legal right, cannot be at the cost of fundamental right of children to free quality education by duly qualified teachers in terms of legislative mandate”. There are two papers that candidates can appear in. They have an option to appear for both the exams too. 

  1. Paper 1 – Primary Level i.e. for Class 1 till Class 5
  2. Paper 2 – Upper Primary Level i.e. for Class 6 to Class 8
  • One must score minimum of 60% to clear the exam. This means that out of 150 marks, one must score 90 marks to qualify the exam. 
  • Candidates who qualify the exam will be awarded the UPTET Eligibility Certificate. It is valid for 5 years.

UPTET 2017 Eligibility

  • Candidates who fulfill UPTET Eligibility (minimum of 50% marks in Bachelors) can apply for UPTET exam.
  • They must also have secured 50% aggregate in class XII.
  • Candidates’ age must be between 18 Years and 35 Years.
  • There are no fixed number of attempts in UPTET.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories would be given age relaxation as per the norms.

Given below is UPTET Eligibility Criteria for both the posts:

UPTET Qualification of Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)

  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC/ passed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in final year of D.Ed (Specialization) in an institute recognized by RCI
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC (Urdu)/ passed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are in final year/ passed Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are Moallim-e-Urdu degree holders from Aligarh Muslim University before August 11, 1997. (For Urdu Teaching)
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year B.EL.ED

UPTET Qualification of Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)

  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of L.T. in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed (Specialization) in an institute affiliated to RCI
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.Ed
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.S.C.Ed
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.EL.ED

UPTET 2017 Application Form

UPTET Registration will begin in October 2017. Candidates have to visit the official website of UPTET i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in to access the application form. It is a 4 step process:

  1. Online Registration- All candidates must enter their complete personal, academic and experience information.
  2. Payment of Fees- Applicants must then make the requisite fee payment as per their category. Candidates can remit this fee via online & offline methods.
  3. Uploading of Documents- Upload all relevant documents, along with your signature & photograph.
  4. Printing of Application Form- Take multiple copies of your filled-in form.
Note: After final submission, a computer generated registration and password would be shown on the screen. It should be noted and preserved for future correspondence.

UPTET 2017 Application Fee

  • Payment of UPTET Application Fees can only be done either on the day of registration or the next working day.
  • Candidates can select any one of the payment methods viz. SBI Internet Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet banking or SBI Branch E-challan for cash payment at any SBI Branch.
  • After the payment of UPTET Fees, complete TET Online Form and mention the Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Transaction ID/Journal Number (provided by the bank) and submit UPTET Form.

UPTET 2017 Admit Card 

  • UPTET Admit Card is issued by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board.
  • It can be downloaded from the official website of UPTET from December 2017 onwards.
  • UPTET Admit Card would contain details regarding the UPTET Paper (Paper 1, Paper 2, Both), the language of paper, exam center, date & time slot of exam, roll number and photo of the candidate.
  • In case of any discrepancy observed in the UP TET Admit Card, candidates should immediately contact the official authority. 

How to Download UPTET 2017 Admit Card?

  1. Visit the official website of UPTET
  2. Click on UP TET 2017 Admit Card link
  3. Provide your Registration Number and Date of Birth
  4. Click on Submit
  5. UP TET Admit Card would appear on the screen, take its print out
Note:Those candidates who don’t receive their UPTET Admit Card, can contact the UPTET Helpline or check their names in the Rejected Candidates List.

UPTET 2017 Exam Centers

  • UPTET exam will be conducted in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
  • It is conducted in 2 shifts in over 200 centres across Uttar Pradesh
  • Candidates have to provide their choice of exam center along with their respective codes at the time of UPTET Online Registration.
  • Only 1 exam center has to be chosen while filling UPTET Application Form.
  • Uttar Pradesh Examination Regulation Authority, Allahabad, reserves the final right to allocate an exam center.

UPTET 2017 Exam Pattern

  • UPTET 2017 will be conducted in December 2017 in offline mode.
  • UPTET Exam consisted of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • Paper 1 will be held for candidates who applied for class 1 to 5 group while Paper 2 will be held for candidates who applied for class 6 to 8 group.
  • Both the papers are of objective type (MCQs).
  • Both the Papers have 150 questions.
  • There is no provision of negative marking in UPTET.
  • All the questions carry equal marks i.e. 1 mark
  • Duration of UPTET exam is 150 minutes.

UPTET 2017 Result

  • UPTET Result 2017 is expected to be declared in April 2018.
  • The official notification for UPTET Result would be published in the newspaper.
  • The result would be announced on the UPTET Website i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in.
  • Candidate can check their result by logging in with their roll number.
  • The official UPTET Answer Key will release in September 2017.

How to check UPTET Result?

  1. Visit the official UPTET website
  2. Click on UPTET Result link
  3. Enter the UPTET roll number
  4. View the scores and save it for future use

Note: Candidates can get the copy of their UPTET OMR Sheet/Answer Sheet by paying INR 500 per copy. The payment must be made by DD which should be drawn in favor of Secretary, Examination Controller Officer, Allahabad.

UPTET 2017 Selection Process

  • Candidates who score 60% (90/150 marks) of the total marks would be considered qualified for UPTET Recruitment.
  • However, the reserved category candidates are required to score only 55% marks (82/150 marks) to qualify.
  • Candidates who qualify the exam would be getting the UPTET eligibility certificate.  

UPTET Eligibility Certificate

  • UPTET Eligibility Certificate is valid for 5 years.
  • Eligibility Certificate can be taken from the district education board by providing a copy of UPTET Admit Card and Photo Identity Card.
  • Candidates who want to acquire a second copy of the UPTET Eligibility Certificate can avail by paying fees of INR 300 through DD (Demand Draft) payable at:
