UPSEE 2017 PATTERN & SYLLABUS
STATE LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
UPSEE 2017 (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) is conducted by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), U.P. each year for admissions into the under graduate engineering courses. Aspiring students hoping to pursue a career in the prestigious field of engineering must register for UPSEE 2017.
Before starting the preparation for this entrance exam, it is important for the candidates to familiarise themselves with the UPSEE 2017 exam pattern. This will help them understand which subjects to study for and how to tackle the type of questions that will be asked in the exam. There are different papers depending on the candidate’s eligibility and choice of stream.
The candidates who qualify the UPSEE exam will get admission in various UG and PG Courses in various colleges in Uttar Pradesh.
UPSEE exam will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The candidates will be given 4 choices out of which only 1 answer is correct. The Question Paper required for different courses is given below in the table:

A candidate will be rewarded 4 marks for every correct answer. No marks will be deducted for every correct answer. Students have to complete the exam in the given period of time. No extra time will be allotted to the candidate in any situation. A total of 12 papers are conducted under UPSEE in which Paper 1, 2, 3 and 4 are OMR based and Paper 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are computer based. UPSEE 2017 will contain objective type of questions. It may be noted that every question will have only one correct answer and hence, the candidates must choose any one option that they deem accurate. The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi. But, in case of any confusion, the English version will be considered final.
The overall time allotted for the UPSEE 2017 exam varies depending on the paper. Candidates will have a total of 3 hours for papers 1, 2 and 3. Meanwhile, for papers 5, 6, 7 and 8, the candidates will be given one and a half hours, that is, 90 minutes for 75 questions. Candidates will be given 1 hour 30 minutes to complete 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 paper.
Candidates must ensure that they are able to go through the entire question paper within the specified time frame. Practicing mock tests in a focussed manner will help achieve this goal.
The marking scheme for all papers of the UPSEE 2017 test is identical and easy to understand. Each question will carry a total of four marks. If a candidate gets a question right, he or she will be awarded four marks for it. There is no penalty for wrong responses, that is, no negative marking will apply throughout the paper.
It may be noted that a record of incorrect answers given by the candidate will be maintained by the exam conducting body. Candidates must take advantage of the fact that no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. They must try to attempt maximum number of questions by making use of guesswork for the tough ones.
