TS LAWCET 2017 Exam Pattern

TS LAWCET 2017 (Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test 2017) is an entrance examination held for admission to LLB courses for 3 years and 5 years duration offered by State Universities in Telangana State. The entrance test is conducted by Kakatiya University.

TS LAWCET 2017 is conducted to evaluate the candidate’s ability to pursue law. TS LAWCET 2016 test will be held in 3 parts- Part A, Part B and Part C. Only those candidates who have filled the TS LAWCET 2017 Application Form successfully will be allowed to appear for the exam.

There will be Multiple Choice Questions in TS LAWCET 2017 question paper. Candidate appearing for the test shall mark the answer in OMR sheet using blue/black ball point pen. Duration of examination will be 90 minutes. Mode of language for TS LAWCET 2017 will be Telugu and English.

Sectional Division of TS LAWCET 2017 Question Paper

TS LAWCET 2017 test paper will be divided in three sections- Part A, Part B and Part C. Following is the table giving all the details regarding each of the section:

The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the part of the candidate is assumed.

As specified earlier the time duration for TS LAWCET 2017 test will be of 90 minutes. Candidate must dedicate 20 minutes each to Part A and Part B. He / she must dedicate more time to Part C i.e. Aptitude for the study of Law.

Total of 50 minutes must be dedicated to the third and final part of the question paper of TS LAWCET 2017. Candidate must try and solve each question within time span of 1 minute.


TS LAWCET 2017 Syllabus

Candidates appearing for TS LAWCET 2017 are expected to b acquainted with elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India. For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Degree Level. Following is the detail regarding syllabus prescribed for TS LAWCET 2017:

PART A contains 40 questions and 40 marks in total. There will be 1 mark for each question

  • JURISPRUDENCE: 20 Questions,20 marks
  1. Schools of Jurisprudence - Sources of Law, Custom Precedent and Legislation
  2. Rights and duties - Ownership and Possession, Persons, Obligation, Property, Liability, Legal Sanctions
  • CONSTITUTIONAL LAW: 20 Questions, 20 marks
  1. Nature of the constitution: Fundamental Rights
  2. Directive Principles of State Policy
  3. Executive Judiciary and Legislature
  4. Center-State Relations
  5. Emergency provisions
  6. Amendments to the constitution

Part B contains 80 questions and 80 marks in total. There will be 1 mark for each question.

  • PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW: Total number of questions in this section will be 16 and there will be 1 mark each for every question, therefore the section will be of 16 marks.

  1. General Principles of Contract (Sections. 1-75, Indian Contract Act-1872)
  • LABOUR LAW: Number of questions in this section will be 16 and total marks for the same will be 16 marks
  1. Trade Union Act 1926. Industrial Disputes Act 1947
  • CRIMES and TORTS: This section will contain 16 questions with total of 16 marks, 1 mark each for every question.
  1. CRIMES: Indian Penal Code -General Principles & General Exceptions.
  2.  TORTS: General principles of Tort, Defenses, Joint liability, State liability for torts; Consumer Protection Act,1986
  • IPR & OTHER LAWS: There will be 16 Questions in this section with the total of 16 marks, where 1 mark is allotted for each question.
