TANCET 2017 is scheduled for 3rd week of May, and results are expected to be declared in month the month of June, 2017. TANCET Result 2017 will be available on the official website of Anna University. Candidates need to enter their registration number and date of birth to view the result. The Registration Number is indicated in the TANCET 2017 Admit Card.
TANCET 2017 Score Card would be available after the declaration of result. It is a necessary document to appear for Counselling and subsequent processes. Tamil Nadu Common Admission (TANCA) or TANCET 2016 Counselling would start after the announcement of TANCET Result 2017. The counselling is most likely to take place in the third or fourth week of June, 2017.

TANCET Result 2017 would be available on the official website of Anna University, from the 2nd week of June onwards. Candidate can both check and download the result from the website. They can simply follow the steps mentioned below to check the result after it is declared by Anna University.
The TANCET Score Card 2017 contains the details of marks obtained by the candidate along with their name, registration number, DOB, and a photograph. The Score Card is very important and must be kept safely till the completion of admisssion. Candidates must carry it at the time of counselling as well as admission.
Candidate can reissue if they lose Score Card for INR 100 via DD drawn in favor of Anna University with a written request for reissuance. However, it is expected of candidate to preserve the TANCET Score Card 2017 for future reference.
Following are the details available in TANCET 2017 scorecard.
The TANCET Result 2017 would be calculated on the basis of Raw Marks and Normalized Score obtained by the candidate in TANCET 2017. Calculation of Raw Marks and Normalized Scores is explained below. The Merit List for TANCET 2017 Merit List is prepared on the basis of Normalised Scores obatined by the candidate.
The raw score can be calculated as Part I marks + Part II Marks + Part III Marks. It is another words, total marks obtained by candidates in TANCET 2017.
The mean mark (m) and standard deviation (s) of raw marks may differ from discipline to discipline. To minimize the effect of this variation, the competent authorities use the following formula to calculate normalized scores - 40+(10/s)(r-m)*
*(s: standard deviation, m: mean Marks, r: raw marks). The normalised scores provide the relativre ranking of the candidate in any discipline.
The Competent authorities will prepare three separate merit lists for admission through TANCET 2017. The three merit lists are GATE Category Merit List, TANCET Category and Sponsored Category.
If two or more candidates have scored same marks in TANCET 2017, then the merit list and ranks will be ascertained on the basis of candidates with higher average percentage of marks secured in the qualifying degree examination.
TANCET 2017 is a state level exam for admissions into MBA/MCA and M.Tech/M.E/M.Plan/M.Arch in the state of Tamil Nadu. The total number of students who have appeared for TANCET 2015 were around 70,000. The total seats available for admissions into MBA, MCA and engineering courses are expected to be around 18000, 17000 and 20,000 respectively, to be filled under government quota through a single window counselling.
Admissions to various colleges are subject to seats vacant in that particular college. A total of 69 % percent seats are reserved for SC/ST/SCA candidates while the rest 31% is available for open communites i.e candidates from other states. Analysis of seat allocation in TANCET 2016 is indicated in the table below for reference of the applicants.

Counselling process of MBA/MCA are carried out in a different manner from counselling for M.E/M.Tech/M.Plan/M.Arch. The TANCET 2017 Counselling for Engineering, Technology and Architecture are carried out by a specific board known as Tamil Nadu Common Entrance (TANCA). Candidates need to register separately for Counselling.
The counselling for MBA/MCA for admission to two year course in Anna University, regional colleges of Anna University, different government, semi government and self-financed colleges is most likely to be conducted in themonth of June-2016. Applications for participation in counselling must be sent along with all the relevant documents, counselling fee and TANCET hall ticket to Anna University.
The seats in various colleges for course of MBA/MCA will be filled on the basis of merit of the candidates. The venue for counselling will be the university itself. Candidates are required to carry all the important documents with them. In absence of which, there candidature is likely to be cancelled. Some of the key guidelines are indicated below.
TANCA (M. Tech/M.E/M. Arch/M. Plan)
Admissions to various Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses are carried out by single window counselling through TANCA. Candidates need to INR 5,300/- which is inclusive of INR 300/- counselling fee. SC/SCA/ST category candidates from Tamil Nadu need to pay INR 1,150/-. The fee can be paid through Demand Draft or Cash. Demand draft should be drawn in favor of “The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University” payable at Chennai.
Candidates must have passed the qualifying Bachelor degree with at least 50 % (45 % for SC/ST/SCA) and also have one of the following.
Candidates need to carry certain documents to the TANCET 2017 Counselling centers. They need to produce all the original certificates to be eligible to participate in counselling. The list of documents is indicated below.
