Calculation of Rank in TANCET Result 2017

TANCET Result 2017 is calculated on the basis of Raw Marks and Normalized Score obtained by the candidates. TANCET 2017 Merit List is prepared on the basis of normalised scores obtained by them. The process of calculating marks is explained below:

  1. Raw Score: It is the total marks secured by the candidate in TANCET 2017.
Raw Score = Part 1 marks + Part 2 Marks + Part 3 Marks
  1. Normalised Score: The normalised scores provide the relative ranking of the candidate in any discipline.

Mean Marks (m) and Standard Deviation (s) of Raw Marks may differ from discipline to discipline. To minimize the effect of this variation, the competent authorities use the following formula to calculate normalized scores:

Normalised Score = 40 + (10/s) (r – m)
