The Merit List for TANCET 2017 Merit List is prepared on the basis of normalised Scores obtained candidate.
The raw score can be calculated as Part I marks + Part II Marks + Part III Marks. It is another words, total marks obtained by candidates in TANCET 2017.
The mean mark (m) and standard deviation (s) of raw marks may differ from discipline to discipline. To minimize the effect of this variation, the competent authorities use the following formula to calculate normalized scores - 40+(10/s)(r-m)*
*(s: standard deviation, m: mean Marks, r: raw marks). The normalised scores provide the relative ranking of the candidate in any discipline.
The Competent authorities will prepare three separate merit lists for admission through TANCET 2017. The three merit lists are GATE Category Merit List, TANCET Category and Sponsored Category.
If two or more candidates have scored same marks in TANCET 2017, then the merit list and ranks will be ascertained on the basis of candidates with higher average percentage of marks secured in the qualifying degree examination.
