NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
SSC Stenographer (Staff Selection Commission Stenographer) is an examination conducted for the recruitment to the post of stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ by Staff Selection Commission. SSC stenographer Exam conducted in the last week of July, 2016. The final results for this examination hs been declared on December 1, 2016 on the official website of SSC in pdf file format.
Staff Selection Commission released the Answer Key for SSC Stenographer exam online on the official website Hearing Impaired candidate is not eligible to occupy a vacant seat for the Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ Stenographer. The merit list for SSC Stenographer exam will be prepared on the basis of both, written test results and skill based test. Following which a candidate will be appointed according to his/her merit.
Answer Key for SSC Stenographer exam released in the first week of September, 2016. SSC stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ answer keys will be released on the official website of SSC. Candidates can check the answer key corresponding to the question booklet they are given during SSC Stenographer 2016. Candidates can submit a representation related to SSC Stenographer Answer Key online. This can be done up to second week of September, 2016. The charges for this representation will be INR 100.

Final Results for SSC Stenographer exam which was conducted in last week of July, 2017, will be declared in the month of September, 2017 or October, 2017. The results for SSC Stenographer written test will determine the list of candidates eligible to move further to the skill test after which final result will be declared. SSC Stenographer written test results will be available online on the official website of SSC in a pdf file format. Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks to successfully pass the written test. Appointment to the post of stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ will be based on both written test results and interview results.

Note: In case, if a candidate cannot find his name in the SSC Stenographer Result, then it can be checked in the non evaluated answer sheet list.
After qualifying in the written test, commission will call the candidates for skill test. The qualifying marks for skill test will be determined by the commission depending on the categories (reserved or unreserved). The list of qualifying marks for skill test will be uploaded soon after the declaration of written exam results. Candidates who will successfully qualify in the skill test will be given appointment on the basis of marks of written test and skill test combined together.
To check results for skill test of SSC Stenographer candidate must proceed with the following steps:
After the declaration of written test results and skill test result, a final merit list will be prepared by the Staff Selection Commission. The merit list will be prepared with the consideration of both the test results and hence the commission will offer appointment across the country for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’. The allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them. Candidates will be on probation for 2 years, they will undergo training or sit for an examination as prescribed by the controlling authority. Candidate will be considered for permanent appointment on successful completion of probation period.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will upload the list of vacancies after they are finalized. Candidates looking for vacancies for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Stenographers Grade ‘D’ may note that the vacancies are in Ministries or Departments of Central Government, including their Attached/Subordinate offices located in States and Union Territories all over the country. The post of Stenographer will not stand suitable for Hearing Impaired candidates.
In some rare cases it is possible that two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks. For such cases there is a tie breaking procedure that is followed by the Commission. Following are the methods that are applied one after the other to resolve the tie:
Marks sheet for SSC Stenographer will be declared on the official website of the commission. The results for this examination will be uploaded for the candidates appearing for SSC Stenographer Written Test. The commission will declare these marks of all the candidates together within one or two days.
