SSC MTS 2017 SELECTION PROCESS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
SSC MTS (Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff ) is a national level, competitive examination. SSC MTS 2016 exam is held by Staff Selection Commission and is scheduled to be conducted in January, 2017.
SSC MTS Selection Procedure is conducted for recruitment of eligible candidates to various positions in central government departments, ministries and offices. The SSC MTS Result is expected to be declared by February 2017. After the results are announced on the respective websites of SSC Regional Centres, the SSC 2016 Recruitment process will start.
Candidates who successfully qualify the examination by scoring minimum qualifying marks will be eligible for participating in the SSC MTS recruitment process. The cut-off marks must be secured for this purpose and the name of the candidate must be included in the merit list.
SSC MTS 2016 results would be declared when the candidate’s answer sheets have been evaluated. SSC MTS answer key would be released before the declaration of SSC MTS results. SSC MTS results is expected to be declared in February 2017. The SSC MTS 2016 results will be published on the official website of the SSC Regional Centres.
Candidates have to login with the roll number on their respective SSC regional centres’ website, to check the SSC MTS result.
To successfully clear the SSC MTS exam, the candidate is required to obtain the minimum SSC MTS 2016 cut-off marks. All such candidates will find their names included in the SSC MTS 2016 merit list which would be made available within a week of the announcement of the results.
The selection criterion for this exam is qualifying the written SSC MTS 2016 test. There are 2 stages in the selection process that the candidates will have to clear – Paper 1 and Paper 2. The first paper will be of objective type and will act as a preliminary test. Those who are able to attain the cut-off for Paper 1 will be required to appear for Paper 2.
The SSC MTS Paper 2 will be of descriptive type and will be the final exam. All those who are able to obtain the minimum cut-off for this one, will have successfully qualified the exam. It must be noted that individual cut-off marks will be decided by SSC for each state or UT.

Based on the performance of the candidate in Paper 1, they will be shortlisted for the second round of Paper 2 (if and only if, both the papers are not conducted on the same day). Those who clear both the rounds will be selected for SSC MTS recruitment and their names will appear in the final SSC MTS merit list.
The final selection of the candidate will be based on the verification of the certificates. Original certificates will be returned after the verification. Certified true copies or Photostat copies of the certificates will not be accepted in any case. Given below is the list of documents that are to be carried at the time of recruitment process.

In order to qualify the exam, candidates should score minimum qualifying marks. These minimum qualifying marks are termed as cut off marks. Cut off is determined on the basis of following factors-
Some additional elements are also taken into consideration while fixing the cut-off for an examination. It must be noted that the cut-off marks, once decided and announced by the SSC, cannot be contested. The candidates will have no right to challenge the SSC MTS 2016 cut-off, set by the authorities, in case they are dissatisfied with it.
Candidates must keep in mind that the cut-off marks for SSC MTS 2016 will vary depending on the category the student belongs to. Hence, candidates must ensure that they clear the cut-off set for their respective category, in order to qualify the exam.

Candidates can check the expected cut ff to analyze their potential to score the cutoffs in SSC MTS exam this year.
There is a provision of reservation in the SSC MTS Exam for candidates who meet the specified requirements. Those applicants, who wish to claim the benefits of this provision, must gather all relevant information regarding the matter.
For availing the SSC MTS Reservation benefits or a favour of age relaxation, candidates will be required to submit necessary SC / ST / OBC / disability certificate, issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format, before the specified date.

Failure to provide such documents will ensure that the claim of the candidate is not considered. The format of such certificates can be found on the official website of SSC. Certificates submitted in any other format will not be entertained.
Candidates must not attempt to provide fake or forged category certificates, as part of their applications, to obtain the benefits of SSC MTS Reservation scheme. Anyone found guilty of doing such a thing will be permanently banned from taking the examination.
It must be noted that candidates belonging to categories of SC, ST, OBC and PH, and who get selected on their own merit without any relaxed standards, will be accommodated against the general or unreserved vacancies. This adjustment will be based on their overall rank in the SSC MTS 2016 merit list. Such candidates will not be able to enjoy the share of reserved vacancies.
Those SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates, who have a rank lower than that of the last General candidate in the merit list, will be the ones who fill up the reserved vacancies. They must fulfil all eligibility criteria and be suitable for appointment even after taking into consideration the relaxed standards.
For candidates falling under the category of Ex-Serviceman, it will not be considered a relaxation when the term of military service rendered by them is deducted from their age.
