SSC MTS 2016 Eligibility Criteria

SSC MTS (Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking) is a national level competitive exam conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Commission). It is held every year for the recruitment for the post of Multi-Tasking Staff in various central government departments, ministries and offices.

Candidates who wish to appear for SSC MTS examination must be a national of India or he / she must have a certificate issued by Government of India if the candidate belongs to Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan Refugee, etc. Candidates must be between 18-25 years of age to be eligible to apply for SSC MTS examination.

Candidate must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board to be eligible to apply. There are certain reservations under Physically Handicapped (PH) category and other reserved category candidates. Before thinking of giving the SSC MTS exam, it is important for the candidate to look up for the SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria. SSC MTS 2016 Nationality Criteria

To be eligible to appear for SSC MTS 2017, there are certain nationality criteria that must be taken into consideration. Candidates seeking this recruitment have to clear SSC MTS 2016 examination and to sit for it following are the nationality criteria that must be taken care of:

  • A candidate must be citizen of India or
  • A candidate must be subject of Nepal or
  • He or she must be a subject of Bhutan or
  • A candidate who is Tibetan refugee and came to India with the intention of settling in India before January 1, 1962 is also eligible to appear for SSC MTS examination or
  • Candidate of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India will also be considered to sit in SSC MTS 2016 examination.

Candidate must have certificate of eligibility issued by Government of India (if candidate belongs to country other than India i.e. Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Pakistan, Burma, etc.).

The certificate issued by Government of India proving the claim will allow the candidate to sit for the SSC MTS examination.


SSC MTS 2016 Age Limit Relaxation

Candidates appearing for SSC MTS 2016test must be 18 to 25 years of age tillJanuary 1, 2016. However, there will be an upper age limit relaxation in case of physically handicapped, SC/ST and OBC categories.

NOTE: It is important to note that candidate must get benefit of reservation if he/ she has minimum of 40% disability in case of physically handicapped. Concession to a central government employee will be granted either under PH category or under Central Government Employee.

Date of birth of the candidate will be recorded as mentioned in the matriculation certificates. No changes will be granted / accepted by commission otherwise.

SSC MTS 2016 Educational Eligibility

According to SSC Multi-Tasking Eligibility,the candidate must have passed matriculation examination or equivalent examination from a recognized board as on January 1, 2016. In case a candidate does not pass the qualifying examination before the closing date of receipt of application form, he or she are not permitted to apply.

SSC MTS 2016 Process of Certification and Format of Certificates

  1. Candidates seeking age- relaxation or reservation under various categories are required to submit the relevant certificates.
  2. Candidates must submit requisite SC/ST/OBC/disability certificate from the competent authority issued on or before the prescribed date, in the required format whenever such certificates are sought by the Regional/Sub-Regional Office. If there is any failure in producing required certificates, their claim will not be entertained. The formats of the certificates are already being annexed.
  3. Candidate must be careful to get the certificates in prescribed format. If the certificates are found to be in any other format, they will not be accepted. OBC Certificate for the status of Creamy Layer issued between 24.11.2012 to 20.05.2016 only will be accepted.
  4. Candidates must not get involved in fraudulent activities to get reservation or age- relaxation or else he / she will be permanently debarred from the examinations conducted by the Commission. The Closing date will be treated as the date of reckoning for OBC status.
