SNAP 2017 SYLLABUS
NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
Symbiosis International University (SIU) conducts SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) for admission to MBA programs at SIU and its affiliated institutes. SNAP will comprise of 4 sections viz. Quantitative Aptitude, Logical reasoning, Verbal Ability and General Awareness. The syllabus for SNAP spans topics mostly from Mathematics and English of higher secondary level.
The topics covered in Quant, Reasoning, and Verbal sections are similar to other national level management entrance exams. In case of General Awraeness section, SNAP considers political, social, and financial events of the past two years.
The Exam is scheduled to be conducted on Dec 18, 2016. Candidates are required to clear the initial offline examination to qualify for the next stage. In order to get a good score, a candidate must be thorough with the entire syllabus for SNAP exam. The following article discusses the syllabus for all the four sections in detail.
One of the unique features of SNAP exam is the General Awareness section. While most candidates are aware of important topics for Quant, Reasoning, and verbal, many are clueless about General Awareness topics. For SNAP a candidate should not just focus on current affairs of recent months but be updated on news and events of national and international importance of last 2 years.
General Awareness consists of a variety of subjects spanning sociology, economics, political science, and current affairs. The table below gives brief glimpse of the prioirty order of the various topics which may be asked in SNAP exam.

General Awareness is one section which is not defined and can cover topics from a wide range of subjects such as general science, social studies etc. Due to this overlapping nature it is important that a candidate devote enough time to preparing for General Awareness. A SNAP aspirant must go through previous year papers and identify topics which are repeated and prepare accordingly.

One of the important sections in SNAP test paper is General English. General English paper is designed to test a candidates verbal reasoning as well as communication abilities. While the topics covered in this section are not that difficult but do require immense practice and good command over english language. Quantitative Aptitude is the most common section asked in all the management Entrance Exam of the country including CAT, XAT, KMAT and others. The key to excel in SNAP Test Quantitative Aptitude is to prepare as per the SNAP Syllabus.
The difficulty level of questions in QA section for SNAP is slightly lower than CAT. This section tests a candidate’s ability to visualise the problem and get to the answer in the minimum time possible. Though the questions from Quantitative Aptitude ranges in the topics mentioned below, the candidates need to sort their preparation according to the priority of the topic based upon the question occurrence rate and weightage given to the Topic.

SNAP Test Reasoning Ability Syllabus test a candidates common sense and their ability to solve real life logical problems. The main aim of the section is to filter the deserving candidates out of the pool of total candidates applying for the Exam.
This is another section which is fairly common to all entrance exams and competitive exams. There are end number of books to help prepare for this section. Questions in this section are just like solving puzzles. Candidates must be able to solve these questions in a short period of time in order to gain marks in this section.
