SNAP 2016 Application Process

SNAP Registration 2016 commenced from August 22, 2016. SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)  is held every year for admission to MBA programs at Symbiosis International University and its affiliated institutes. Candidates can register for the test at the SNAP Test Official Website until November 25, 2016. 

Candidates with a Bachelor degree in any stream are eligible to apply for SNAP test. While the application process is entirely online, the payment for application can be done both online and offline. Apart from the SNAP application, candidates will also have to apply to Symbiosis institutes of their choice individually. 

Candidates falling under the Foreign Category can apply through the same application form but will have to upload some additional documents. The SNAP Result 2016 is expected to be released on January 9, 2017.

SNAP 2016 Registration Process

Candidates while registering for the elite management entrance exam will have to follow the steps mentioned below. All the information provided during SNAP registration should be accurate and precise. Any deviation in the actual information and that provided during SNAP Registration will result in rejection Candidates’ applications for SNAP Test 2016.

  • Agree to the Terms & Conditions and Click ‘I Agree’
  • Enter the Registration Information, SNAP Exam Appearing City and Create password after clicking submit.

SNAP 2016 Admission for Foreign Nationals

The four groups to be accepted under the foreign nationals’ category in the SNAP 2016 admission process are:

  1. Foreign national: A candidate who has a foreign passport and holds a citizenship of any other country can be considered under this category.
  2. Person of Indian Origin: A candidate will fall under this category if she/he possesses a PIO card. It is a privilege card issued by the Government of India to the candidates who are basically of Indian origin but are settled abroad. Also, it is necessary to have citizenship card of any other country.
  3. Overseas citizen of India: OCI card issued by the Government of India for Indians settled in other countries. A card holder who has citizenship of some country except Pakistan or Bangladesh will fall under this category.
  4. Non Resident Indian: A candidate who has completed Class 12th or Graduation from outside India will fall under this category. It is necessary that the candidate has appeared for one of the two qualifying examinations outside India.

NOTE: The English proficiency test is necessary for all the candidates of foreign nationals/OCI/PIO category. The IELTS exam conducted by British council or IELA exam has to be cleared. The minimum cut off in IELTS exam is 6 and IELA exam is 4.

Additional Eligibility criteria for foreign nationals: The foreign nationals must check the following guidelines given for them:

  1. An applicant must have completed 3-year bachelor’s program from any recognized university or board outside India.
  2. The candidate must have completed the examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  3. In the case of B. Tech, a 4-year degree is only acceptable and must have a minimum of 50% marks in it.
  4. Those candidates who are appearing for the final year exam can apply but admission will be done only after the final result has been declared. Minimum of 50% aggregate marks is mandatory else the candidature is invalid.
  5. No backlogs must be there when candidates are applying for the SNAP Admission else the candidature is rejected.
  6. Please check the institution wise criteria available for the courses offered before applying.

Additional documents required by foreign nationals for SNAP application form:

  • Class 12th mark sheet
  • Bachelor’s degree mark sheet
  • Photocopy of Valid passport
  • Statement of purpose
  • 2 letter of recommendation (original copy)
  • English proficiency test score
  • Payment proof

Document submission: Hard copy of all the documents listed above have to be sent by courier to the office. Online candidates need to take the printout of the form and attach it with all the documents asked. Courier has to be mailed to the office at the address:

Document verification: The documents received by the courier will be checked against the documents uploaded. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the admission. Admission committee will do all the evaluation. Following criteria is given as the basis for selection:

  1. Previous academic record
  2. SNAP score ( IF applicable)
  3. English Proficiency test (if applicable)
  4. Statement of purpose
  5. Letter of recommendation
  6. Work experience and achievements
  7. PIO card or OCI card

Merit list: SNAP 2016 Merit list will be formed by the administrative academy for foreign candidates. The candidate who have been selected they will be sent a mail. When candidates receive the mail then they have to send their intention whether they wish to join or not. If candidates wishes to join then they need to do part payment of administrative fees and course fee.

SNAP 2016 Institution Application Process

The candidates who have registered for SNAP Test 2016 can only apply for the Institutes under Symbiosis International University (SIU). Candidates can easily apply for all the institutes mentioned above through the official website. Please read below the steps for registration for the institutions:

  1. Select the college name and log on to the official website of the college.
  2. Complete the registration by providing SNAP 2016 Registration details.
  3. Pay the additional fee of INR 1000/- to get registered with the institute for the purpose of admission.
  4. However, getting registered only with the institute does not entitle an applicant to get the admission. To complete the admission process, candidates need to wait for the result and the call letter from the college.

Guidelines for sending application to the institute:

  • NRI candidates should check the eligibility guidelines given by the institute before applying to the institute.
  • No changes will be made in the application form after the closing date in December 2016.
  • In case the courier documents are not received on time or there is some delay then Symbiosis Test Secretariat will not be held responsible.
  • The application fee for the institute and for the SNAP Test 2016 is non-refundable and non-transferable.
