RMCAAT 2017

STATE LEVEL ONLINE TEST

RMCAAT 2017 or Rajasthan Master of Computer Application Admission Test 2017 is a state level entrance exam. RMCAAT 2017 is conducted by Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota for admissions into the postgraduate course of Computer Applications.

The exam is likely to be held in the month of May 2017. A candidate must have completed his or her graduation with mathematics as a main subject to be eligible to apply.

RTU, Kota has notified the RMCAAT 2017 Exam Pattern. The exam will have 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the exam. No extra time will be allotted to the candidates in any situation.

RMCAAT 2017 Admit Card will be available for those students who have completed their applications and fulfil the eligibility criteria.

The RMCAAT 2017 Result will be declared on the official website once the exam has been conducted and evaluation of papers is complete. Qualified students will be able to participate in the RMCAAT 2017 Counselling process.


RMCAAT 2017 Important Dates

RMCAAT 2017 Application process will begin in the month of April, 2017. The exam will be conducted in the month of May 2017.

RMCAAT 2017 Eligibility

Candidates must check the eligibility requirements specified before applying for RMCAAT 2017. In case a candidate fails to meet these norms, his application may be rejected and admission may be denied. The detailed RMCAAT 2017 eligibility criteria are explained below:

First year MCA

  • Candidates must have taken up Mathematics as a subject in Class XII or graduation.
  • Candidates must have pursued a graduation degree of minimum three years duration in any subject from a recognised university.
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category).
  • Candidates in their final graduation year with a valid NIMCET 2017 score can also apply.
  • Candidates applying on the basis of NIMCET 2017 score who have a Rajasthan domicile will be preferred over the ones who are from outside states.
  • Candidates applying on the basis of their graduation marks who have a Rajasthan domicile will be preferred over those from other states.

Lateral Entry in Second year MCA 

  • Candidates must have taken up Mathematics as a subject in Class XII or graduation.
  • Candidates must have a UG degree in any one of BCA, B.Sc. (I.T.), and B.Sc. (Computer Science) from a recognised university.
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category).
  • Those with a Rajasthan domicile will be given preference over the ones belonging to a different state.

Domicile Criteria for candidates appearing for RMCAAT 2017 is given below

Government of Rajasthan

Undertakings/ Corporations/ Improvement Trusts/ Municipal Boards/ Panchayat Samities /Cooperative Bodies duly constituted by the Government of Rajasthan

Statutory Bodies and Corporations formed under Indian Companies Act incorporated in Rajasthan

Category CThe candidate is a child of an employee of the Central/State Universities in Rajasthan who has put in at least 3 years service on the date of submission of application.
Category CCandidate is a child of an employee of Central Government or Institutions and who is serving in the State of Rajasthan on the date of application.
Category CCandidate is a child of an employee of Rajasthan origin, serving in Defence/Central Government services/Public Sector undertakings/National Institutes of Government of India, who has put in at least 3 years service on the last date for submission of application.

RMCAAT 2017 Application Process

The application process for RMCAAT 2017 will be conducted online in the month of April 2017. Candidates will be required to register online and pay the registration fee.

Candidates can refer to the step by step process for RMCAAT 2017 application process given below:

  • Visit the official link
  • Click on “RMCAAT 2017 Registration”. Please note that this may be worded differently.
  • Provide candidate’s name, date of birth and name of candidate’s father.
  • Using the challan generated, make the fee payment.
  • Enter the 16-digit Token Number given on the receipt of payment to activate the application form.
  • Provide requisite details such as academic qualification, category, domicile etc.
  • Upload necessary documents and verify the information filled.
  • Submit the form after ensuring that no further changes have to be made.
  • Take a print out of the completed form.

RMCAAT 2017 Application Fee

The candidate will be required to make payment of Rs.2000 as registration fee for RMCAAT 2017. This includes registration amount of Rs.1000 which is non-refundable. The rest will be adjusted against admission fee of the student.

The candidate will have to pay the requisite sum via a challan that will be generated upon successful registration. The applicant will have to contact any authorized e-Mitracentre for fee payment. A receipt will be given to the candidate after the fee has been paid, with a 16-digit Token number. The candidate must keep it safe as it will be needed at later stages of admission.


RMCAAT 2017 Admit Card

The admit card for RMCAAT 2017 will be made available on the official website a week prior to the exam date. Eligible candidates who have submitted complete application forms and paid the fee will be issued a hall ticket for the exam.

  • Visit the RMCAAT official website.
  • Click on “Download admit card”.
  • Provide your registration number along with date of birth.
  • Click on “Submit” button.
  • View and save your admit card.

The admit card is an important document and must be preserved carefully until the admission process is over.


RMCAAT 2017 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

RMCAAT 2017 Exam will have 200 Multiple Choice Questions. The candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the exam. An applicant be rewarded 1 mark for every correct answer and there is no negative marking.

RMCAAT 2017 Reservation

There are some seats under RMCAAT that are reserved for candidates who belong to minority groups or special categories.

Such students can claim this facility, if they so desire. Thus, it is imperative for them to know the details of reservation criteria, as tabulated below.

RMCAAT 2017 Counselling

Those students who have obtained the minimum cut-off marks and qualified the entrance exam will be called for RMCAAT 2017 counselling process. The various steps involved are explained below.

  1. Choice Filling and Locking

The candidate will be required to fill the online option form mentioning his or her choice of institute in order of preference. This can be edited or modified any number of times in the specified period. However, once satisfied with the completed option form, the choices must be locked through the “Final Lock” option.

  1. Seat Matrix

The most recent seat matrix will be uploaded on the official website during the period of choice filling. Candidates should refer to the website in case of any doubt in this regard.

  1. Seat Allocation

The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of score obtained in NIMCET 2017 or on the percentage marks achieved in graduation by the candidates.

  1. Allotment Letter

After the result of seat allotment process has been announced, the selected candidates will be able to download their allotment letters from the website. It will not be sent via post.

  1. Reporting

The candidate will have to report to the allotted institute along with the requisite documents within the specified time frame. A provisional admission letter will be granted to those who have reported. In case the candidate fails to report on time, his seat will be cancelled.

  1. Upward Movement of Seats

Vacant seats will be available for upward movement after the first round of counselling is over. Those candidates who registered for first round and were not allotted a seat as well as those who were allotted a seat and reported to the specific institute will be eligible for upward movement round.

  1. Allotment of new seat

If a candidate is allotted a new college through upgrade, the previously allotted seat will stand cancelled. The vacated seat would be allotted to another worthy candidate.

  1. Reporting

The candidate will have to report to the newly allotted institute after upward movement within the given time period. If he fails to do so, his seat will be cancelled.

There are some important documents that the candidate will have to carry at the time of reporting for counselling process. Candidates must carry these in original along with two sets of attested photocopies. The list of such documents required for RMCAAT 2017 counselling is given below:

  • Scanned copy of candidate’s photograph (acceptable formats are JPG/GIF/BMP and maximum size allowed is 100 KB)
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s signature (acceptable formats are JPG/GIF/BMP and maximum size allowed is 50 KB)
  • Copy of Class X, XII and graduation mark sheet
  • NIMCET-2017 Score card (if applicable)
  • Mobile number of the candidate or a close relative
  • Proof of payment of counselling fee
  • Fees receipt generated by e-Mitra
