NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
NID DAT 2017 results are expected to be declared on February 5, 2017 (M.Des.) and February 22, 2017 (B.Des. and GDPD). The candidates can check the results on official website of NID by providing their roll no. and application no. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 8, 2017 and NID 2017 Admit card will be available from December 20, 2016. The qualifying candidates will be called for Studio Test and Personal Interview.
After the results are declared, NID 2017 Cutoff will be be announced. The candidates who score minimum Cutoff scores will get admission in degree courses in NID Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and in NID Kurukshetra and Vijaywada for Graduate Diploma Programs in Designs (GDPD). Candidates must remember that the NID 2017 Results would be available on the official website only. There will be no individual communication of the results to the candidate. Candidates can check the results for NID 2017 Entrance Exam by simply following the steps mentioned below.
A final merit list for the B.Des and M.Des programswill be prepared on the summation of total scores obtained by the candidate in the individual stages of the admission procedure.There will be separate category wise merit list prepared for all stages.
The weightage discussed above is to be totally based on the discretion of the Institute. The candidates are shortlisted on the following criteria:
Number of candidates to be shortlisted for Stage 2 and Stage 3
The eligible number of candidates who will qualify for Stage 2 and Stage 3 are to be calculated as indicated below.
Atleast 3*N, where N stands for the number of seats in a particular category of a discipline or programme.
For Example:For 50 seats in General category under the B.Des programme, atleast 150 candidates are to be called in order of merit.Likewise, for 8 seats in the General category under the M.Des programme, atleast 24 students need to be called in order of merit.
Similarly, for category wise seat allotment, candidates are to be called based on the number of seats available in that category.Same rank will be allotted to 2 or more candidates scoring same marks in the DAT (Stage 1) examination.
National Institute of Design will conduct NID 2017 to shortlist candidates for its varied designing courses viz, Under Graduate and Post Graduate, Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) of 4 years duration and Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD) of 2.5 years duration.
NOTE:NID 2017 Cut Off will be valid only for the qualified eligible candidates. Marks acceptable for Product Design are to be around 150 and about 15 for the Information Design as per NID Cut off 2017.

Relaxation in Cut-Off scores for Reserved Category candidates
The first merit list will primarily include the candidates securing top ranks. This will solely depend on the number of seats available in the particular course.
The NID 2017 cut-off score for General Category will be based on the score obtained by the last candidate of the 1st merit list for General Category. The same would be applicable for reserved category candidates. The relaxation given to the Reserved Category candidates is as given under:

A separate merit list for the Waitlisted candidates will also be prepared on the basis of category.Candidates can also request for re-evaluation or reassessment of the answer books. However, such re-evaluation will be restricted to:

The successful candidates will have to appear in person at the respective campuses, in order to accept the offer of NID 2017 Admission. Candidates need to produce and submit original documents viz. related to educational qualifications, caste or disability certificates in the proper format. These documents are needed for the verification of the candidate. Also, the requisite amount of fees is to be paid by the candidate.
If the fee is not timely paid or the documents are not submitted on time, the registration and admission of the candidate shall be cancelled by NID. The tuition fee for NID 2016-17 academic session is indicated below.
