NID Kurukshetra (NIDK) Result for Round 1 declared, Final List on Sep 25

The results for the entrance exam of National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra (NIDK), have been declared at its transit campus located at Government Polytechnic, Umri, Kurukshetra. It is an autonomous institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. In an official notification, the institute releases the NIDK round 1 results of its four-year Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD) for the academic year 2016-2017.

About the Course

The National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra (NIDK), offers its very prestigious GDPD course. This course begins with a two semester foundation programme, followed by 3 years of specialized studies in any of the three disciplines- Industrial Design, Communication Design and Textile & Apparel Design. The first year foundation programme aims at developing values, sensorial skills and aesthetic sensitivity in students for better design understanding. This helps them understand the fundamentals of design and the relationship of design with human senses and emotions, ecology, culture etc.

The NIDK Result is out. Candidates can visit the official website to check their results. Students can follow the below steps to check their NID Kurukshetra Results 2016:

  1. Visit the official website
  2. A window displaying “View result of Graduate Diploma Programme in Design” will open
  3. Enter any two fields only
  4. Do not enter all three fields
  5. Enter your roll no./ date of birth/ email id
  6. Submit/ Reset the form
  7. Your NIDK Results will be displayed

NIDK Admission Process

Below are some of the key points regarding the NIDK Admission process. Candidates must adhere to these.

  1. Once a candidate applies for the GDPD Programme and has made the necessary payment for registration, will be called for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT). It will contain one question paper that will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s), along with an OMR sheet for the candidates.
  2. The language of the exam will be English. It will be of total 100 marks and will be held at the specified NID Exam Centres.
  3. Based on a candidate’s DAT Score, they will be shortlisted for a second round of exams in NID Kurukshetra transit campus. It will be announced on the official website.
  4. The second-round test will be a Studio/Situation Test that will consist of different sections in different format such as hands on practical assignments, etc. The studio test will carry a total of 100 marks. The test will be conducted in English.
  5. Candidates from the reserved categories, OBC-NIL, SC, ST & PwD, will be declared as qualified on the basis of a relaxation criteria as below:

Based on the available number of seats, the top ranking candidates will be offered admissions in the first merit list. The score of the last candidate in the first merit list for category will be considered as cut off score for general category. Based on this, relaxation in the cut-off scores of candidates in reserved categories will be as follows:

  1. Then, a category-wise list of Waitlisted candidates will be prepared in order of merit.
  2. The unfilled seats will be based on the cutoff in merit or unavailability of candidate in OBC-NCL Category will be allotted to candidates of General Category.
  3. Seats remaining vacant under the SC & ST categories shall not be allotted to candidates belong to other categories.
  4. The list of selected candidates will be final.
  5. No provisional admission shall be admissible for delay in submission of caste/category certificate.
