Kumara Vamsi Krishna Balepalli appeared for EAMCET in 2007 and secured marks of 155 out of 160. Almost all the participating colleges of EAMCET offered him admission. Finally, after weighing all the pros and cons, he took admission in Rangaraya Medical College. He scored this splendid score without any extra coaching with his very strict routine of self-study. In this questionnaire he shares some very useful preparation tips with us for the students appearing for EAMCET.

Ans. Except Osmania and Gandhi Medical College. I had an opportunity to join all other colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
Ans. I did not take any special classes. We had coaching in our intermediate (12th standard) in our college along with the 12th standard classes. The class durations were scheduled equally for the 12th and EAMCET. We used to have weekly tests on the syllabus of EAMCET. It really helped me a lot.

Ans. The schedule of my college enabled me to manage EAMCET preparation along with my 12th standard course. Our 12th standard classes were scheduled from morning 6 am to 12 pm. I used to have study hours from afternoon 1 pm to 5 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm. I used to cover my 12th classes from 1 pm to 5 pm and gave time for EAMCET in the evening hours from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Ans. My strong areas were physics and chemistry. I used to love those subjects back then. I am somewhat slower in botany and zoology compared to physics and chemistry. I spent a good amount of my time improving my understanding of botany and zoology covering topics I found relatively easy and the topics I thought important in the exam point of view. I had confidence in physics and chemistry and it took me a lot of effort to bring the other subjects on par with my favorites.
Ans. The college had provided us special test paper booklets for each subject covering all the important areas and models of questions which stressed on how a question can be asked on a particular topic.
Ans. 4 months is a very less time for preparing the entrance exam. First give more importance to botany and zoology. Your ranking depends on these subjects when people get the same marks. Next importance is given to physics and lastly chemistry but chemistry is easier compared with physics. I gave more time to chemistry than physics. You could score easily. For Zoology and botany you have to go through your 12th books thoroughly. And do as many test papers as possible. In chemistry, organic chemistry plays a major role. You have it be perfect with the chemical formulas and reactions. In physics, mug up the formulas well and just go through the model of questions being asked.
Ans. I gave preference to the formulae in physics. They play a crucial role in scoring marks in the exam. The topic of vectors gives a basic understanding of all the other chapters. Momentum, centre of mass and magnetism and electricity. These topics cover a major portion of the subject. Practice the problems well and do more test papers...this gives a relative ease in applying theory concepts to solve the problems in the given time frame. Follow books of pulse publications and your study materials. For assertion and reason type of questions, the theory statements and definitions are very important so go through the test books of 11th and 12th class thoroughly. For Bi.P.C students the physics topic in the exam will be relatively easy compared to the M.P.C students. It will fetch you more marks with a little effort from students.
Ans. I gave a lot of importance to understanding the topics and practicing model papers. The concepts of stoichiometry, various types of bonds and valancy of electrons, theories of structures of atoms and there arrangements and organic chemistry are important. 11th & 12th standard books are enough for the preparation of exams. Practice the reactions and test papers more. If time permits go through pulse publications book for further practise. Nuclear chemistry also plays a major role so spend some quality time on it. Solve the chemistry questions first in the exam if you are confident in it or else go for botany and zoology. Atleast allot 20 minutes in the 1st one hour of the exam for chemistry. It is less time consuming topic where you can answer 30-35 out of 40 questions. So you will have enough time to answer other topics in the exam
Ans. I don't have math as a subject as I am a Bi.P.C student
Ans. I am very much satisfied with my performance and my medical college. I don't have much to change.
