NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IOCL Recrutment through GATE 2017 – IOCL is recruiting for Graduate Engineers through GATE 2017. The selection of candidates is based on GATE 2017 score. The shortlisted candidates will undergo in the process of selection process i.e.Group discussion & Personal interview. The IOCL Recruitment through GATE 2017 online application form is available from January 10, 2017 to February 12, 2017. There is no separate application fee.

Petroleum engineers will be posted in the Exploration and Production Business Vertical of Business Development Division.Their job profiles would include supervising drilling operations and preparing drilling engineering designs,calculations and drilling programmes for the blocks operated by Indian Oil,monitoring of production performance for producing upstream assets of Indian Oil,carrying out reservoir engineering simulation and modelling for optimal reservoir management.

The required educational qualification criteria for IOCL recruitment through GATE 2017 are following:
Candidates selected as Engineers/Officers will be receiving a monthly remuneration of Rs. 24,900/- Also,the selected candidates will be getting DA and other allowances as per the rules of the Corporation in force, as amended from time to time.
Other Allowances or Benefits would include HRA/Subsidized Housing Accommodation (depending upon the place of posting),medical facilities,performance related pay,gratuity,contributory provident fund,employees pension scheme,group personal accident insurance scheme,leave encashment,LTC,contributory superannuation benefit fund scheme,conveyance advance,performance related incentives,etc.
The Cost To Company (CTC) will be around Rs.12.00 lakhs per annum inclusive of Performance Related Pay.
The Actual CTC will vary, depending on the place of posting,financial performance of the Corporation and also individual performance of the employee.
Ans. NO.There is no separate application fee to be given to Indian Oil.A candidate is required to pay the required fees for GATE 2017 only.Details concerning GATE fees are given on the GATE website. Information about GATE is also available on the websites of the 7 IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and also on Indian Institute of Science’s website.
Ans. NO, Indian Oil will not be recruiting Geology and Geophysics professionals through GATE 2017.
Ans. YES, it can be viewed again, but no change can be made to the details once filled in.
Ans. The grade or CGPA should be converted into % as per conversion formula applied by the Institute/University for awarding class or division. In case, such a formula is not available, Indian Oil will have full authority to convert that into % by applying its own procedure, as it may consider appropriate.
Ans. Persons with Disability of 40% or more will get the benefits admissible to PWD candidates. Also, it is mandatory that such a candidate holds a valid disability certificate issued by the medical board constituted for such purpose.Candidates, whose degree of disability is less than 40%, are not entitled to any concession admissible to PWD candidates.
Ans. There is no need to mail the completed application after affixing photograph.This application is to be brought at the time of GD/GT and PI.
Ans. NO, Indian Oil shall not entertain any offline applications.

Ans. NO, Indian Oil will be considering GATE 2017 scores in given disciplines only.Please refer the details through Indian Oil website.
Ans. Subject-wise syllabus of GATE 2017 is available in GATE 2017 brochure, which can be downloaded from GATE 2017 website.
Ans. NO, a candidate with a degree in Electronics and Instrumentation discipline shall be considered for recruitment in Indian Oil only in the Instrumentation discipline.The discipline of engineering in which the candidate is graduating or has already graduated requires being the same for appearing GATE 2017 examination also.Candidates with a mismatch in disciplines will altogether be rejected.
Ans. The qualification requirement for the position of Officers/Engineers is, 4 year full time BE/B.Tech from a recognized Indian University/Institute.Candidate with MCA does not meet the eligibility requirement for Graduate Engineers.
Ans. YES, ScoreGATE 2017 score is the only valid score to be considered for recruitment in Indian A score of GATE 2016 or prior to that will not be considered by Indian Oil for its recruitment under this advertisement.
Ans. NO, GATE does not have any upper age limit, but Indian Oil has. In Engineering disciplines, general category candidates of more than 26 years of age as on June 30, 2017 will not be considered for recruitment under Indian Oil. Relaxation in age will be extended to other category candidates, as prescribed by the Presidential Directive of Government of India.
Ans. NO, GATE does not have any % of marks requirement, but Indian Oil does have. In Engineering disciplines, General and OBC category candidates are required to score at least 65% marks in their qualifying bachelor’s degree examination.For other category candidates, it is relaxed to 55%.In Geology and Geophysics, the minimum % of marks is 60% for General and OBC category and 55% for SC/ST/PWD categories respectively.
Ans. NO, GATE does not have any physical fitness criteria, but Indian Oil has.The candidates wishing to appear GATE for recruitment in Indian Oil only must go through the pre-employment medical fitness standard of Indian Oil before proceeding with the GATE application process.
